School! Are

School!

Are you homeschooled or public schooled? (I know this has been asked before, but I forgot who is which and I'm curious.:) Are any of you homeschooled now but were public schooled part of your life (or vice versa)? When is school over for the summer for you? Or do you do school year round? What grade are you in?

I am homeschooled and in 9th grade, though all of my friends are in 7th or 8th. I have been homeschooled all my life, but we did strongly consider sending me to school for highschool.  I am finishing sometime near the end of May, but reading history and literature throughout the summer because I have been behind on those for a few years now (because of a time we used a different curriculm for a semester), and decided it was finally time to catch up.

Oh, and if you're homeschooled, what curriculum do you use? I'm doing Sonlight, and I'm almost finished with Core 100. Yay!

I got to a Catholic school and are in 6th grade. In my grade alone there are about 70 kids. I get out for summer on May 27 and am going to an amusement park the day after. I CAN'T WAIT!

Thank you for creating this thread, Brynne, becuase I created a similar one on Inkwell but nobody responded.  I am homeschooled and have been all my life.  I am in 7th grade.  I won't be finishing school until like the middle of June, but I don't mind too much.  The only thing I do mind about that is that it is very hard to concentrate when it is a million degrees out!  I don't use just one curriculum, I use a mish mash of curricula.  I take music at the local middle school, math is from various sources, as is English, science, etc.

Do you live in Europe, or is that not true?  If you do, how is homeschooling different there?

6th grade, small private school with not even 200 kids...

But we've been through all that.

I don't live in Europe, I live in Iowa. I like to put Wizarding Europe as my location because that's the setting for the Harry Potter books and a lot of people had Hogwarts already.

Elizabeth H. recently moved to the US from Europe, and I believe Kendra is from Europe too. You can ask them about homeschooling there! :)

I go to a private Christian school. When I was 3 I went to a co-op school. (that's when your parents do some work and it decreases the amount you pay) then when I was 4 I went to a Montessori school. Then in grade 4 I moved to the school I'm in now. I have never been to a public school, so I'm wondering what it's like. Especially high school. I'm planning on going to a public high school, but my parents have other ideas, that still have me wearing a uniform. *sigh*

APC says uuuh. As in "uh" I think he wants me to stop my ranting. Which I already have. :-P

I homeschool/unschool. I did go to an alternative school once a week for while though.

I've been public-schooled all my life (although I wish I was homeschooled), and am currently in 6th grade. My school ends sometime this month, but I don't know when.

From kindergarten to fifth grade I was in a private school. Now I'm in 10th grade and  homeschooled. We'll finish school by the 20th of May (hence a massive got-to-finish-NOW month) but then we'll have a nice week in south Utah and an excellent summer. We're not doing anything over the summer, for once. We kept on with math for the last two years.

We use BJUPress's curriculem. Pretty good, I guess.

I'm currently homeschooled. To be honest, I don't like it right now. I am going to a Catholic highschool next year. I feel like I'm not ready. I haven't had a lot of writing practice, and I am trying to pass the school's tough algebra test so that I can go into Geometry (honors I hope!). I'm really nervous. Homeschooling has had it's ups too though. :)

I am homeschooled and, technically, am in 8th grade. But, I actually did my first year of high school this year. For the last 2 years of high school, I am going to a community college, where I can earn college credits while still in high school. I like the idea. :)

OMG. Spamboy says: Mech! He hates the idea. I knew it. *tears* You always criticize me! HOW RUDE. You know, I have feelings! *red face* *glances around* We are in, ah, somewhat of a fight. Excuse us, we'll take this outside. *slams door behind* *muffled shouting*

Sorry, I'm kinda in a crazy mood right now. :) But He does really say "mech"

I've been homeschooled for my whole life. Hopefully I'll be homeschooled for high school, too, but I guess it just depends on if my mom is sick of me by then or not.
