Fads!

What's popular around you now?  Right now people have squishies, sillybands, and (the dummest idea ever) mighty beans.  Does anybuggy follow the fads, or do you prefer not to because you think they're weird?  Sorry, I have to go!!

PS, has anybuggy heard of what I mentioned above?

I've heard of sillybands. They're ridiculously popular around here. The annoying thing is, of course, that they're really kind of cool, and I have a couple, but I can't stand to wear anything that's so popular. I'd like them a lot better if they weren't.

@ ZNZ, I feel the same way.  I mean they are cool (especially how they like never lose their shape) but I'm not really someone to follow these.  I guess I'll be one of the ones wearing them when everyone else stops.  Oh well.

I've never heard of any of those!  They are probably popular around here and I know what they are, but I just don't know their names.  So what are they exactly?  The most popular thing around here during the winter was Chucka boots.  (I think that's how their spelled.... I don't know).  EVERYONE had a pair.  Of course, me being me, I didn't.  I don't like to wear something that is so wildly popular.  I want people to see, let's say, a shirt I am wearing and think, "Wow. That's really cute and I've never seen it before."  When I see someone with those boots, I think, "Boots.  So original."  Haha, get what I'm saying?  Although I do like to have a style to where I don't look like I've been living in the woods all my life, but, I make it somewhat my own.  I shop at all the normal teen stores and stuff.

@ R~D~ Squishies are little pencil toppers that are shaped liked animals.  IDK what mighty beans are, and silly bands are the little bands that you wear on your rist that are shaped like something.

I'm not really one to follow fads myself, but I do wear sillybands.  If you are going to buy them don't buy them from big stores!!  I got some packs for a dollar at the dollar store.

I don't like childish fads (sillybands, webkinz, those pens I can't for the life of me remember the names of) but I'm perfectly okay with fashion-related fads... like yes, I bought Croc knockoffs and Ugg knockoffs and whatnot. I believe in giving into peer pressure ;)

@Mary W.  YES!  That's what I meant. Ugg boots.  I don't even know where I came up with the name Chucka.  I don't even know what those are.  *wanders to google*  What in the world?  Don't ask me where I got that name.  And also, I'm like you.  I like to follow the fashion fads, but not the wildly popular ones.

@R~D~: You said Chucka and meant Uggs? XD I read "Chucka" and was sort of like, "...huh? I didn't know anything about those."

*kooky pens. I remembered. That's the kind of pen I was thinking of. I dislike them, however. They're so thick, I can't imagine how people write with them... I hate longhand anyway, though.

What's popular around here is Arm Farms. I think they're really weird.

I like sillybands, even though they're totally pointless. And Ugg Boots. I hate how ppl wear them in the summer! "Hey, guys, it's 100 degrees out, let's go paradiing around in our loud, clunky, winter boots!" I mean really. They're cute and everything, but in the summer?

St. Louis's most popular stores are defintely the following: Forever 21, Abercrombie, Hollister, Aeropostale, Rue 21, American Eagle, Pac Sun, and Target. What about your hometowns?

@ Katie, the stores around here that are popular are almost all of those, except we don't have a Forever 21, or a Rue 21.  I've never heard of Pac Sun either so we probally don't have one.

About the boots in the summer, how do they wear them??  It gets soo warm in the summer here. (only like 70-80, but that's HOT for where I live)   I can't believe that people can actuall put up with it!

I don't really follow fashion fads, because as far as I'm concerened the people around me have no taste! :)  They're into shirsts that say stuff like "We stick together" and it will show a picture of a peanut butter sandwich.  I really really really hate those!  I believe that thhey are pointless, besides the fact that you wear them.

I don't even pay much attention to fads. I just wear/use/have the things that I like. Most of those are not part of fads, but I don't go out of my way not to follow them either, which means that some of them are, and I often don't even know it.

As for the sillybands, although I've never known like they were called before, they are, unlike all of the other things listed (well, besides Webkinz, but those haven't been popular anymore since we were about 9), very popular where I live. In fact, I'd be very surprised if there was anyone at my school (in my grade, anyway) who didn't have any, besides me. Myself, I really don't see the point in them—I mean, they're just rubber bands. There isn't much that you can really do with them. I really don't understand the current obsession with them.

Andy says abho. Does he abhor the rubber bands, or fads in general? I'd guess the latter. It would explain a lot—like why he always uses but 4 letters to express his thoughts. No one else in the world does that...

@Ima: Really? Plenty of people where I live use only four-letter words to express their thoughts. *cough* /mild snark

@Katie: re: uggs in summer: I dunno, I guess you're right. I myself would only wear boots in the summer if they happened to match my outfit or I was going to be doing a lot of walking. Like for instance, if I'm going on a day trip to NY or something, I wouldn't wear my horrid support sandals, but I might consider wearing Uggs. Because sneakers = :P. IMHO.

For the most part I agree, though.

Hahaha, that made me laugh.... Yes, that's how people where I live express their thoughts, too...
