Chatterbox: Down to Earth

I finally just

I finally just decided to look up NaNoWriMo, because everyone always talks about it on here and I never had a clue to what is was (besides the fact it had something to do with writing)...(oh and sorry, I know this thread probably shouldn't be here, but it seems all the other places are.... dead).  Anyway, WOW.  Have any of you been able to complete the 50,000 words???  That is amazing, especially in one month.  Oh, whoops, I have to go.  But please tell me about your experiences with this.  Thanks! :)

What I did was google, say, bookleaf nanowrimo. One of the first links that comes up will be her nano profile. Plus, if you find one person you've found all their writing buddies.

Mwahahahahahahahahaha!!!!  I know what you look like ML!  Mwahahahahahaha!  you won't know what I look like till I get my picture up.  It'll never load correctly...

@ML: That what you did? 'S a good idea -- thanks!

I'd be getting a much better educational experience if they let me quit school like I keep wanting too. School gets in the way of my education. ;D

@Medd: *hides* That's a terrible picture, and it's from like a year ago. :D My blog has better more recent ones. Although they're still pretty bad. People only take pix of me when I look ugly. :P

@ZNZ: Just like Mark Twain! 'hem. Anyway, yes, it always works. With anything. Just make up something deep and psychological about your educational experience and they'll usually let you do whatever it is. :)

@ ML: No nead to hide.  All my pictures look like that.  Except for a rare few...  HaHa.  I hate it when people take pictures of me.  It's always when I'm staring off into space, reading with blank stares of eyes, A post-it on my forehead...  When I'm riding my five-year-old sisters tricycle with a bagel in my mouth...  And when I'm not in a weird facial expression or odd doings, no pictures are seen.  Or it's in bad light, if they do take pictures of me.  Or maybe I look like my pictures all the time.  That would be...  *shivers*

@Ima (again): I searched myself on JulNo without logging in, and it worked.  You have to go to the member list and scroll to the bottom, and a search bar is seen, and then you just type my username and then it brings you to my name, then you click on it and you're at my homepage...  Hopefully that made sense?

Aragorn says 'mypf'.  My profile?  What about it?

@R~D~: I think you have to be a member of NaNo to search peoples accounts.  but maybe not, I'm not completely sure.  Let me try...  i just tryed to search someone on NaNo without signing in, and it did not work.  So I think you have to create an account.  I don't know about JulNo...  I'll try it. On JulNo you can search people without being logged in.  On the homepage click forums, then once ont that page, click search, and then you can search.  Sorry if that doesn't make much sense.  :)

I found Ima on JulNo.  I'm Sisterofmoon.  So, when exactly will it be July?  July is a busier month for me, than most months.  Fourth of July, Spiral Scouts ((sewing badge.  Whoopie.)), TNI summer camp, (maybe) Alice in Wonderland, packing for playgroup camp, finish math ((I'll have a months break of math.  Yay.  I'll be starting pre-algebra/geometry, I think.))...

@ R~D~: I'm not sure how to look someone up, but if you try to look up me on the regular NaNo site, it won't work, even if you learn how. I'm not signed up. I'm not doing NaNo (unless JulMo is much easier than I expect, and I think there's a remote chance I could get 50,00 words—well, less with the YWP, but 100 pages would be my absolute minimum word count goal, or else I wouldn't count it as a novel or even a novella, and even 100 pages would be difficult in November—in on top of all of my schoolwork. That's why I'm doing it in July instead...

@ ZNZ: Good luck convincing your parents tolet you do JulMo. Your school sounds awfully similar to mine... ;)

Darn!  I want to see what you guys look like but I don't think I'm going to sign up!  Darn!  I found Ima on JulNo but there is no picture of her.  It all sounds so fun, I just might do it!

Yeah, I just didn't want to put a picture of myself on the Internet in a place where anyone can see it.

I advise you to consider before signing up, of course (otherwise you'll just bring the statistics down by changing your mind and having no word count), but other than that, great! The whole 'write 50,000 words' bit will be difficult, I'm sure, but not too difficult. Unless you're an extremely busy person. And if you finish your story too early, with too few words, just add more. Think of what will happen to your characters next. Anything interesting? And if that just doesn't work, you're allowed to go on and write another story, and another, until you have 50,000 words of fiction. And the founder of NaNo wrote a book on how to get through it, so if you have trouble, you can get that. Aut don't sign up for  NaNo now; unless you'd just rather do NaNo (in which case I think you should wait until October to sign up to see how your schedule's doing, and whether you have time for 50,000 words, or need the YWP), do JulNo. You may not have time in November at all, so--Alright, I'll stop. Sorry for the sudden rush of info from someone with no experience whatsoever. It's just that when I get very excited about something, I can be carried away... As you can probably see.

Meadow, July starts in about 2 weeks, if that's what you mean. On the day after the 31st. Although I could be completely misinterpreting your question... Am I?

I couldn't find you when I searched for you, so I'm going to assume that, unless I did something wrong, you haven't posted anything. Right? Or did I make a mistake?

I meant in the question  that I want it to be July, because their are so many things I think I'll enjoy in it.  I didn't exactly mean that I didn't know how long until it was July...  Sorry for the confusion.  :)

No, I haven't posted anything.  I'm not completely sure how to post anything yet...  But I'll post something so you can find me...  Or I'll send you a U2U message (I think that's what their called...).

@ R~D~: Ignore my picture! Despite Medd's words of wisdom I still hate it. ;)

About July: Oh, I see. Me, too. I can't wait until it starts—or even the day before the first day of the week before it starts! (I'm not going to prewrite until then; that's what the founder of NaNo reccomends). And the confusion is fine. :)
Also, I found you after all, actually. I realized that I was searching a different way, which only works for people who have posted. To comment, though, you just click on a forum, then a thread, go to the bottom, and click 'post reply.'

Oh I figured it out.  No need to hide, ML!  That isn't how I imagined you at all (not in a bad way), haha, but I like that picture of you! :D  I then looked at some of your buddies including TNO and Bookleaf.  Cool! :D :D :P
