So much snow!!!

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

So much snow!!!

So much snow!!! At my house we have gotten like 18 inches from Friday to today (the 19th to the 21st), and it's still snowing.

P.S. Paige, have you gotten as much?

Are you serious? In Gorham, on Christmas Eve, it rained (and PUT OUT THE LUMINARIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and melted all of the snow. Now we have an inch or two... :(

We had SO MUCH SNOW! It's melting off now, though. I believe in global warming less than ever. I've never seen so much snow! We had like a foot!

We had no snow up until December 24. None. Zilch. Nada. And then, overnight, three feet of it. Three feet! And it's still been snowing off and on since. Oh well. The late winters are always the best winters. But I know plenty of people who would just love to go down to Utah and shoot all the cloud-seeders there. *rolls eyes*

"Cloud-seeders"???

Google it.
It's a weather-control technique which involves shooting various substances (for example silver iodine) into clouds to make it snow or rain, or to suppress fog (in airports). Major ski resorts in Utah (and all over the country) will cloud-seed to pad their slopes.
The Utah cloud-seeding causes problems for us, because the clouds that those ski resorts are seeding? Yeah, those, if left alone, wouldn't snow/rain until they hit Sublette County.
This is an especially big problem, because we've been in a drought for the past ten to fifteen years (depending on who you ask) and we really, really need the moisture. But we're not getting it because, like I said, the ski resorts in Utah are depleting the clouds before they can reach us.
Anyway, to put it kind of in perspective... You know how some people are really, really passionate about stopping "global warming"? That's how loads of people here are about cloud-seeding.

...Okay....  Here in the white north we just spray the peaks with man-made snow...  :B

That's what happens in Wyoming (not in our town though, as we've only got a tiny little ski resort that's practically all bunny hill)... Dunno why it's so dratted popular in Utah. I'm fairly certain it'd be cheaper to use manmade snow.
