"Air."

"My grandmother used to tell me stories about
the old days, a time of peace when the Avatar kept balance between the
Water Tribes, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and Air Nomads. But that all
changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar mastered all four
elements. Only he could stop the ruthless firebenders. But when the
world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years have passed and the
Fire Nation is nearing victory in the war. Two years ago, my father and
the men of my tribe journeyed to the Earth Kingdom to help fight against
the Fire Nation, leaving me and my brother to look after our tribe.
Some people believe that the Avatar was never reborn into the Air Nomads
and that the cycle is broken, but I haven't lost hope. I still believe
that somehow the Avatar will return to save the world."-- Katara

I know probably only Blonde Heroines Rule and I are going to be doing this, but still. You all should watch it!! So you can quote Sokka (the most awesome joke-maker of all time) with me! XD

Should this take place during or before or after the Hundred Year War? Hm, I don't know.

Okay, so your character can be from any of the air temples, either of the water tribes, the earth kingdom, or the fire nation. He\she\it can be the Avatar or the Fire Lord or anyother postions of power, like the Cabbage Merchant or something, but only one person can be those. And they have a lot of responsibility on their hands. They don't have to be a bender. If they, though, please state whcih kind.

And at the end of each post, you must write a quote from Avatar or Korra

So, here's my character:

Name: Anikiruna, but people call her 'Ani' or 'Kira'

Age: Fourteen

Bending ablities: Water bending

Came from: The Northern Water Tribe.

Pets: Farrow, a polar bear-dog like Naga

Looks: Long, fluffy, deep brown hair, aquamarine eyes, and dark skin. Wears a deep bue dress lined with fur underneath an untradiontional milk-white fur cape that covers her and helps her bend into the snow and ice. Her hair is usually loose, falling past her waist.

Personalty: Rebelious, spunky, determened, and head-strong. Will not stop at anything until she has what she wants, when she wants it, where she wants it. If she can not get that, she will work hard to get it anyway. Kind and a good listener as a friend, and very protective of things she cares about.

History: Is the fourteen-year-old, second-eldest daughter of the chief. Believes she will inherit the throne from her father when she is older, as there are no sons in the family, and her elder sister has no wish for it. She has two sisters, Tara, who is four years youger and Kaeldra who is one year older.

Anikiruna~

"Kira, dear, we're sorry!"

"Anikiruna, get back here right now!"

I heard my parents voices echoing down the marble hall. I didn't care. My feet pounded on the ground as I ran. "No! No, you're not sorry!" I shouted back at them. I heard my mother tell my father something.

I didn't care, I didn't care, I didn't care. I told myself this over, and over again. But it did! It wasn't fair!

I reached the door of the room me and my sisters shared. I pushed it open. I threw myself over the threshold and slammed the door behind me. I. Didn't. Care.

I flung myself into a chair, sobbing like an idoit. Why was I crying? I never cried. Now was not the time to cry, anyway, now was the time to act. Yet I just sat there, sobbing.

Tara's face apeared, hovering above mine. "Ani? Are you alright?"

"No! No, I'm not!"

She backed away, frightened. I softened, "I'm sorry, Tara. I just. . . "

Kaeldra apeard next to her. "Ani, what happened?" She asked.

"They. . . they. . . " I couldn't speak, I was sobbing again.

Kaeldra sqeezed into the chair next to me, pulling me into her lap. "Shh, it's alright. Everything's alright."

I didn't want to babied, treated like Tara. But it felt good to sob into my older sisters tummy and not push her away for once.

Finally I stopped crying. "What happened?" Kaeldra repeated.

"They took my crown away. They say Aagen will become cheif when he is older, not me. They say it's for my own good. No girl should take the throne." I laughed bitterly, coldly. That laugh frightened me. It wasn't my laugh.

"Aagen? But he's just baby." Tara said, disbelievingly.

"Yeah, but he's a boy. Boys are the born rulers, not girls."

"Ani, I'm so sorry." Kaeldra said, "I know how much the crown means to you. But--"

"Meant to me?! It was my whole life, Kaeli!" I jumped up from her lap. "And they can just take it away! It's not fair!" I was crying again. Why couldn't I just stop? I wasn't supposed to cry.

"Yes, but-"

"I can't stand that! I can't have my life controlled any longer. I can't stay here!"

"What do you mean, Ani? You're leaving?" Tara's frightened face was pale, making her freckles stand out.

"Yes, I-"

"No, no she's not." Kaeldra stood. "Ani, calm down and think. You can't leave. Where would you go?" She put her hands on my shoulders.

"I don't know! And I don't care! As long as it's away from here. Far away."I slapped her hand off my shoulders. She stood back, looking shocked. Tara looked mroe frightened then ever.

I stalked over to my dresser and threw open the doors. I took a bag and hurridly filled it wih possesions.

"Ani, just listen-"

"No, I won't. I can't have my life controlled anymore. I need to leave."

Maybe she realized she could never convince me, or maybe she can tricking me, but Kaeldra said, "Then at least let me help. You're not going to fit anything in that bag that way."

I agev her the bag. She took everthing out and parctically began sorting through it all and picking what i would most need.

"Where will you go>" She asked queitly.

"I don't know. To the Earth Kingdom, proabably."

"Oh." She finished, handing the bag to me. "You might want to changed," She said, eyeing my 'audiance with the cheif' clothes.

"Yeah." I picked up a dress and quickly changed. Next, I got out my white cape and put it on.

"Ani! Where did you get that?!"

"Ronan. He made it for me."

She shook her head, "You and that boy. Trouble, trouble, trouble." She laughed.

"Ronan isn't trouble." I said inocently.

"Oh, it's not him, it's you."

I playfully slapped her, covering the pang in my heart when I thought of Ronan. I won't be able to say good bye to him. I won't see him again in . . . how long?

I slung the bag over my shoulder. Tara tugged at my skirt. "Ani, don't go."

'I have have to, Tara."

She nodded, then flung her arms around me. Kaeldra hugged me on top on her.

After a moment I broke away. It was late morning and I should get going.

"Goodbye, Anikiruna, crown princess." Kaeldra said softly, her melodic voice liting and clear. "We'll miss you. Come back, please?"

"I will, if I can." I promised. "Goodbye Kaeldra."

"Bye bye, Ani." Tara said. I hugged her again, "Goodbye my Tara."

With that, I turned and climbed out the window, landing on the soft, snowy ground with a slight thump. I set out over the icy plains, my back to my home and my face to the wind.

Liana ~

The entire arena was silent. The referee stood in slack jaw silence, staring at the "three small girls". I couldn't keep the chesire cat grin off my face. Kira was grinning as well.

"Er, ahem, well, ladies and gentlemen, the new Pro-Bending team!" the referees shouted, waving his hand at, though quickly letting it drop to his side as his announcement fell flat. The other competitors stood frozen either in shock or with murderous expressions. The referee quickly made his way down to the battle stage, and led us to a seperate corridor. I walked alongside Kira, who stood between the other girl and I.

"Hi, I'm Kira," she said, offering her hand to the girl, who looked slightly startled.

"Kun," she replied, taking Kira's hand.

"And that's Liana," Kira said, gesturing to me. I gave Kun a nod, but before we could say anything else, we stopped where four hallways formed an intersection. There our sponser, Ukan Meron, stood smiling. Though I hated the way he grinned, like he didn't see us, but a way to make more money.

"Ah, girls, so you are to be our new Pro-Bending stars?" he asked, rubbing his hands together. "I saw you all fighting together, you were incredible!"

We smiled, unsure of what to do or say.

"Now, of course being sponsered comes with benefits," Ukan said, leading the way down the hall again. "I will pay your salary, additional necessary fees, fighting equipment, etc."

"What do you mean, "additional necessary fees"?" Kira asked.

"Oh like your apartment board, groceries, clothing budget, pretty much every day things," Ukan said airily, waving his hand.

The three of us stared at each other dumbfounded. He prattled on, though I hardly heard it. I was in too much shock to register everything he was saying. He led up several flights of stairs, up above the training rooms and the arena. On the top floor, he opened a set of doors.

"Here is where you will be living!" he said waving his hand.

Eek, gasp, OHMYGOSH! Corina, have you seen the latest episode of Korra?! It's fantastic! AND THE NEXT EPISODE IS THE SEASON FINALE! I'm just going to go cry now... *slips away to cry in a corner*

Yes!! Oh my goodness, it was AMAZING!!!!!!!! XD

I've actaully watched all of the rest of Korra!!! It's over! *runs off and weeps* But you'll love the ending. The reason I got to watch it early was because the Korra creators had some kind of contest and the fans won and so they released the last two epsiodes at midnight on Friday. My sisters and I watched it at midnight, til one. It was awesome!!! Watch it!!

Can't wait for the next season!! *Comes and cries with you because for me it is already all over*

Okay, calm. . .breath, Corina, breath. KORRA!! Breath. . .

Kira~

After we beat all the other teams, the rest of the day was a hazy blur. We were shown into our upstairs rooms and were given food and supplies. We ate and sat around, talking about this and that and trying to get to know one another more.

Me? I was sitting on edge the whole time, hoping the Tarian wouldn't find us. If he did. . .it would ruin everything. But how was I supposed to go out there and perform without him seeing me at least once. Finally, I went up to Liana and Kun and explained the situation and the amount of danger they were in if they stayed with me. They could get arrested for kidnapping me or. . .. well, any number of things.

Then I asked them what I should do.

LUCKY!!!! I totally need to see it! I'm going insane waiting for it!!! And I just can't believe we have to wait for a whole new season. It took FOREVER for the second one to come out. Imagine how long we'll have to wait for season three. Ugh! *absolutely bawls in misery*

Liana ~

I was somewhat surprised when Kira told Kun and I that she was really a runaway Water Tribe princess. But then again, something had always struck me as a little different about her. And somehow, this also struck me as hilarious. I don't know why, maybe because it sounded like something out of a story book. I also had the solution.

"Well for one," I said sitting her down, and pacing in front of her. "Stop worrying. We can solve this in three simple steps."

"Well for one, don't ever use your real name. There are a million Kira's out there, so that should be fine. Two, we need to change your look. You do look a little like you're from the Water Tribe, and anyone with any more than basic knowledge on it could spot you from a mile away. We need to change your wardrobe. And probably your hair too," I added as an after thought. "And three, we need to rocket to heights of popularity. You need to fight, hard."

"I get the first two, how will becoming popular help?" Demanded Kira.

"Simple. Anyone looking for a runaway Water Tribe princess wouldn't expect her to a) be in Pro-Bending at all, and b) especially not a famous Pro-Bending team. It's like hiding something in plain sight."

Kira looked thoughtful a moment.

"Okaaay, I guess," she said slowly. I grinned widely. This might actually be fun!

Verik in a VERY nice jail cell: "What do you think? I had this place made specially. I always had a feeling I might end up here."

Okay, don't spoil it, but I'm REALLY hoping he comes back in the last episode!!! I LOVE the guy!

Yes, you do!!! And . . . it's not coming out until probably next fall. I just came to a sober realization. I don't have anymore Korra. *starts bawling* lol, just kidding.

Kira~

I thought about what Liana had said. It made sense. Some how, this all seemed so ridiculous, like a fairytale.

I got out some scissors and asked Liana to do the honors. We cut my hair short and then I wondered what to do about the rest of me. Laina and I stared at me in the mirror, then burst out laughing. I looked pretty weird with short hair.

She told me to worry more about my looks later. We went out, buying some earth kingdom clothes for me. I wondered how I was going to change my accent, since that totally gave me away as Water Tribe. But I decided to worry about that later.

"You know," I said, thinking, "I could use Ani instead of Kira. I told Tarian my name was Kira at first, anyway." I waited for her to respond, wondering how she would react

~~

*giggle snort* I still love that guy. And just wait. *winks*

You will love the last episodes. They are hilarious.

"One of them is in the booth with me right now, folks. He is leveling one of those glove devices at me now, and I beleive he is about to electrocute me. I am currently wetting my pants." ~ Announcer.

My sister and I quoted him for months after we watched that episode. We still do. And whenever I say it, we both burst out laughing hysterically. XD "I am currently wetting my pants." Hilarious!

That was hilarious! I loved that part.

Liana ~

I must admit, cutting Kira's hair was fun. It was now in what I called a "sporty" bob. It framed her face well, and a few bangs added a nice touch, complimenting her eyes well. And the earth kingdom style clothes matched her personality well too, giving her plenty of function to still water bend.

"You know," she said. "I could use Ani instead of Kira I told Tarian my name was Kira at first anyway." She looked at me.

I stood thoughtfully. "Hmm, maybe Ani would be better. Especially if that annoying guy knows your name," I added. Kira, or Ani now, groaned. I couldn't hold back a laugh. Me personally, I couldn't stand men. I usually ended up getting into a fist fight with any boy I met. I threw myself upside down over the back of the sofa, my legs dangling over the back.

"I wonder when our first pro bending match is," I wondered aloud. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Ani strode over to answer it. A messenger stood, looking horribly uncomfortable in his starched uniform.

"Mr. Meron says to be ready for you first match the day after tomorrow." He then promptly turned on heel and marched back down the hall. Ani turned slightly dazed and shut the door.

"Well I guess that answers that!" I laughed.

**********************************************************************

Korra: All right. Let's ride!

Bolin: Naga away!

*Naga throws them both off*

Korra: All right, scratch that. Any other ideas?
