Percy Jackson RP!!

Percy Jackson RP!!

Okay, so I'm not sure how many of you have read Percy Jackson, but I was thinking that we could write about people at Camp-Halfblood while the war is going on... Anyone want to join?

I really liked Katie's idea of Percy coming back with Beckendorf dead so I just went along an did that. If you guys don't like it, just ignore this post.

Callen-

I’m at javelin practice, which I hate. As a child of Ares, I guess I should like all things that have to do with weapons but throwing a point metal stick at somebody just doesn’t seem to have that much of a… vibe.

About five javelins are sticking out of the dummy when Hailee from Hermes walks in with two Halfbloods who arrived recently but haven’t been claimed. Both of them look like they are fresh out of the shower. And they both seem nervous.

“Hey.” Hailee greets me. Not because we’re friends but because she’s nice to everybody. “This is Indigo and Alexa.”

“Hi,” I say. An uncomfortable silence follows.

“Okay, guys, let’s practice some javelin throwing.” I watch as Hailee walks over to the wall, which is lined with different weapons. Then she comes back and the three of them start practicing on the dummies next to me. Both of the girls are good, Indigo has a steady hand and Alexa a lot of endurance.

I throw a couple of more javelins. Even when I manage to hit the dummy in the eye, I’m not really proud of myself. I’m just bored. My hands itch to hold a sword and slash at my enemies. I know wars aren’t good but Camp has been too quiet lately.

I’m taking my javelins out of my dummy when a camper runs in, face red and a look of shock on her face.

“Percy’s back,” is all she says before running out again.

I spin around and Hailee and my eyes meet. The way the girl's said it, Percy’s arrival is not good news.

I went back to my cabin and settled down to read The Fellowship of the Ring for about the millionth time. As I reached the title page, after getting distracted by the copyright page for about a minute, someone ran into the cabin.

"Percy Jackson's back," they panted, and crashed out. I set my book aside and looked across the aisle at Annabeth. She was already out the door. I followed her. There was a large group gathered around Percy, so I couldn't really hear what was going on, but one of the Apollo girls was telling someone else that Beckendorf from Hephestus was dead. I couldn't really understand what she'd just said.

"Did you say Beckendorf's dead?" I asked her, feeling rather shocked.

"Yeah," she said. I blinked.

"How'd that happen?" I wondered.

"I don't know," the girl replied.

"Was he murdered?" I queried. If he had been, then I could probably copy the methods of Sherlock Holmes and figure out the crime. That would be fun. Well, not the murder itself, but the detecting. I'd never tried his methods on-

"No!" the girl said, interrupting my train of thought. "It was probably a monster, OK? If you want to use your Sherlcok Holmes stuff, go figure out where all Arol's pimples went or something. Not that that's to difficult," she added. Up front people were stepping aside. Percy, Chiron, and Annabeth came past. I was stepped on by a very large and smelly Ares dude, so I couldn't see, but I could hear mutters. Something about a cruise ship. And Luke Castellen. Exsplosions. It was very surreal.

------------------

I'm not really solid on how Beckendorf died (long time since I read the book, going to re-re-read), so the end might not be too accurate, and if it isn't, well, this means I should probaly read books like this at least once every three months. Or less.

I have to admit, I liked throwing the javlins much better than combat training. We had been going at it for some time before  a girl, a bit older than me, ran into the building, all red faced and sweaty. And was that a worried expression on her face?

"Percy's back!" she gasped out, before turning around and running back out.

Hailee and the daughter of Ares, Callen, shared a loo. I had a feeling that Percy coming back was not all good news.

Percy. I couldn't say that I didn't know him. Percy Jackson, one of the rare children of Posiden, God of the Sea. Like everyone in the camp, he was a cousin of sorts to me. Some can call it that, but some say that the god's relations, with the exception of  our own parents, are nothing. I don't know what to believe yet.

Back to Percy. Because he's a son of the "Big Three," he's a big deal around here. That, and the fact that he's a pretty good on a quest. I think that he's been on one every summer ever since he's come to camp.

He's off fighting Kronus, or he was. Now he's back. And the news didn't sound good.

Hailee starts for the door. "Come on," she says. "I think this is bad news."

Hailee ~

I felt an immediate sickening feeling as soon as I heard "Percy's back". I glanced at Calleen, the feeling worsening. We forged our way up toward the dining pavilion, along with the rest of the camp. Chiron, Percy, and Annabeth stood together, saying something, though I couldn't hear what. Suddenly, someone from the Aphrodite cabin, Silena, started crying. Before the news reached us, I knew.

"Beckendorf's dead," Travis said to me, standing next to his brother, Connor. The confirmation hit me like a punch to the gut. I couldn't believe it. It didn't feel real. Everyone was in shock. People began to disperse from the dining pavilion. I wandered away, feeling as if I were in a daze. Everyone in camp new Beckendorf. He was well liked, and never had any enemies, as far as I knew.

"Who was Beckendorf?" Alexa asked.

"Um, a child of Hephaestus," I said, trying to make myself focus. "A good guy." My voice trailed off again. The war was fast approaching, but this, this just made it all the more real, and all the more pressing.

"Come on," I said straightening. "Back to training."

I'm going to be gone this entire week but I'll post as soon as possible.

Callen-

I stand frozen, staring into space. Beckendorf cannot be dead. I focus on Silena who is in a heap on the ground, wailing. I look around for Hailee but it appears she has left.

I wasn't friends with Beckendorf, not even close, but everyone knew him and respected him. He cannot be dead.

I turn back to Silena and am shocked by Clarisse kneeling down next to her, helping her up and walking off to the big house. The crowd begins to disperse until only a few of us are left, standing around awkwardly, not wanting to talk but not knowing what to do.

Okay, I didn't really know what to write. Sorry that it's so short.

~Anika~

“Percy’s here!” Annabeth yells in my ear. I roll over. “I’ll greet your boyfriend later,” I mumble. I can imagine her rolling her eyes. “He’s not my-“ “Ok, ok. I get it.” We have had this conversation 1,000 times. I roll back over and look at her. “I’ll get ready and then come.” “Ok, Anika.” She turns and stalks toward the door. She stops and stares, frozen at the door. “Oh, Gods.” she whispers, then runs out. I don’t know if this is some plan to get me out of bed, but it works. I brush my teeth, pull on some cutoff shorts and a CHB tee-shirt. Then I catch a glimpse of my self in the mirror. Ahhhh! I am not normally worried about my appearance, but my hair…oh, gods. So I pull it in a ponytail. Satisfied, I run out of the cabin.

I see a crowd of people, which I barge through. I see Percy, but- oh. Beckendorf. Poor Silena!

I stand next to my half brother, Conrad. He has a stick in his pocket. He is probably pretending it is a wand. Silena pushes forward. “Where’s Charlie?” Normally, I roll my eyes when she calls him Charlie, but this time, I feel sorry for her. “No-NO!” She crumples to the floor. Suddenly Clarisse steps forward. She helps Silena to the big house. The rest of us just stand around.

In my three years here, I have never really understood death. But I can still see in my mind’s eye; Annabeth saying “Oh, Gods”, Silena crumpling, and Percy’s sad eyes. I trail off into the woods.

I walk for a while, wandering. I step on a sharp rock, and wince. I rarely wear shoes, but it still hurts when I step on something. I hear a twig snap. I whirl around, but don’t see anybody. Confused, I make my way over to Zeus’s Fist, a big boulder. I climb on, and look around. I think back to when I first came, when I was nine.

“Anika!” someone yelled. “Run!” The fog was getting worse. I heard that person calling, and I knew I needed to run. But my legs had turned to noodles. I crashed into a tree, and fell to the ground. I felt something sharp pierce my side. “Oww!” I groped around and felt a dagger. I grasped the handle. I could feel something trickling down my back. I shivered. I whirled around, but something big picked me up. I tried to scream, but this Thing was squeezing me so tight that I could not breathe. With my last remaining strength, I stabbed the dagger into It. It crumbled to dust, and I fell. I hit the ground and passed out, just under a archway.

I heard voices. “Which parentage…?” “Athena? Hermes?” “I dunno.” “Maybe she’s one of the big three!” “That’s nothing to be exited about.” Oh, yeah. The prophecy…” “We’ll see…” “Oh, look! She’s opening her eyes!”

I saw a man in a wheelchair, and a pretty girl. I smiled, but they stared back with open mouths. I scrunched my eyebrows together. Why were they looking at my head? I looked up to see a glowing something on my head. “Well, Hailee,” The man said to the girl, “It looks like you just got spared another in your cabin.”

Little did I know, My life would be very much different from my regular one in Tennessee.

Just a bit of back story!

submitted by Stellarbee, age 12, Camp Half Blood, NY
(March 1, 2014 - 11:22 am)

Sorry I haven't been posting! I will now, if nobody minds.

Alexa~

"Come on," Hailee said, walking out of the dining pavilion, trying to act natural. "Back to training."

I didn't know much about Camp-Halfblood, or anybody in it, but from what I could decipher from everybody's reaction about the spreading, tragic news of Beckendorf's death (which was a lot) was that Beckendorf was a nice, fair Hephestaus camper. He probably had gone off on a quest with this Percy guy, and had died.

As I followed Hailee out of the dining pavilion, I asked about the next training task we were going to do.

"Winged horseback riding," she said.

I did a double take. "Wait.. what?!" I almost yelled. I had been here for a day, and I had accepted that the Greek gods were real, but winged horses? Not likely.

Hailee turned around. "Yes," she said.

I raised my eyebrows and was going to give a sharp retort, but Hailee had already turned arouond and kept walking.

About a a hundred steps later, I saw the horses, and my eyes widened.

They were real. Real as the gods. In specially made stables, they were as astonishing and fascinating as the first time I saw a parrot talk. Black white, brown, caramel, they had the horsehair smoothly turning into feathers, the wings beating softly, and the soft eyes and body of a horse. A camper smoothly mounted onto a brown horse, pulled the reins, and the horse lifted up into the air as though it was the most natural thing in the world.

Hailee grinned. By this time, we had reached the stables. Hailee assigned an ink-black pegasus to me called Quill, and a dark brown horse called Holly to Indigo. The she taught us how to fly a pegasus

Oh my gods. Flying a pegasus . . . that was one of the best experiences in my life. Just soaring up, over the earth and above everyone, that was just simply amazing.

"Wow," I breathed once we grounded, sliding off Holly. "That was just . . . that was just amazing."

Hailee smiled. "That was just the trial period. If you're good enough, soon you'll be shooting arrows or something from your horse's back."

"That was really fun," Alexa said, as she stroked her horse's mane. "Is there anything else?"

Hailee laughed, "Oh, I could probably think up a few new activities, but we've gone through a lot this morning. You guys pick."

I looked around the field. I could see some Ares kids and Apollo fighting - something about a flying chariot. Now that I'd like to try. But I knew better than suggest that.

When we didn't say anything, Hailee laughed. "I didn't mean that many things. Let's see, we've done archery, combat, javelins, and now pegasus. All in one morning, too. I call that a good day. How about we take a break and have some fun?"

"When will we be claimed?" Alexa asked, as we walked towards the pond.

Hailee bit her lip. "Well . . . I can't really say. Your parent is probably busy right now, with the war and all. The fighting in the west. And they don't usually claim you immediately, either. But, I think if we wait awhile, we just might get our reward. There's a battle in the near future. I can feel it. Maybe your parents will like the way that you fight, and claim you soon after or even during the battle. We'll see soon enough."

Sorry! Been so busy, but I'll write now!

Hailee ~

We headed down toward the beach, Indigo and Alexa talking, though I remained somewhat quiet. I was worried. I knew that Typhon had been released, and everyone on Olympus was tied up. But I feared that Kronos would make his move, and soon.

***

All of Camp attended Beckendorf's funeral. I watched the metal chain-link mesh that the Hephaestus kids had created melt away in the fire. A sense of deepening loss filled me. A dark depression settled over everyone. As if everyone wasn't on edge already, this truly set our noses to the grindstone. And the following day, things got worse.

"Have you seen Percy?" Annabeth asked the following afternoon, walking into the sword arena where I was setting Indigo and Alexa through more training. Sword fighting would be one of their most crucial skills in a war.

"No," I said, lowering my sword, instantly concerned. "Why?"

"He's just... he's been gone awhile. I was just wondering."

I watched her as she left. A camper going missing was never a good thing. Especially a child of the Big Three.

"Back to training," I said firmly. I drove both of them harder. They had to know everything they could as soon as possible. I had a feeling we wouldn't get much longer before it was the real deal.

So, maybe I skipped things, I don't remember exactly, but I was trying to head toward action before this dies. And top!
