Guys, guys, guys--you seem to be making the assumption I thought about this at all. What if like the jungle explorers are exploring a jungle with a bunch of mythical creatures who were created/controlled by witches? Like they have to be freed or vanquished or the witches become magical science buddies or something. Or the witches could be separate. The first two really seem like they'd make a good RP without needing any more confusion.

I suppose maybe we could tame the dragons and such, but maybe before we could do that, we would have to vanquish the witches that were holding them captive?

No, no, that's fantastic! If you're fine with that, I think it would be awesome. I was just checking that you personally don't have a specific image of what a witches RP would be like because if so, I respect that and I wouldn't want to interrupt it with dragon jungle explorers. SomeonePlusFour probably has a more intelligent comment posted, so I'll probably go now.

@ Katie M - that actually sounds pretty awesome.
@ SPF - the Salem Witch Trials were basically like a bunch of trials and persecutions of people for "practicing witchcraft" in colonial Massachusettes from Feb. 1682 to May 1693. It resulted in 20 exuctions, mostly of women. It is a prime example of mass hysteria and religious extremism. If you want to learn more, I got the figures here from Wikipedia, which seemed to have a good article, although I can't vouch for its correctness.

It sounds like a pretty good idea but it also sounds slightly gruesome. I just don't want to get into stuff that may be considered too violent.

An RP is when a group of three or more people create an idea for a plot. Then, they all submit "character forms" (what their made-up character would look like, be like, etc.), and then the RPing begins.
Everyone submits an entry when they can. An entry is basically your character's point of view on the story and what is going on. So you make the plot, but the basic elements of the plot have to be predetermined. That's what this thread is for.
If this wasn't good enough (I'm pretty bad at explaining things, I've learned), then just look it up.

I just had an idea when I glanced at Chocabookaholic's name.
How about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? I don't quite know how we would RP that, but we could wander through the different rooms and get lost and... fall into giant... vats of chocolat.
