Chatterbox City RP!

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Chatterbox City RP!

Chatterbox City RP!

So I had this weird idea-- Chatterbox City! All the CBers live in a city (as do the admins, and you guys can write too if you like) and we all already know each other and we have to team up to save the city from, I don't know, evil vampires or something. You don't have to live in a house in the "city"; you can live in a cave or a cloud or a secret HQ. and there's a building in the center which is like the Admin Center. Also, there is a Starbucks, a Whole Foods, and a Chipotle. You guys can add thinhgs if you like.

" Are we there yet?" That's Squeak. He's used those words about a million times since we started walking three days ago. Somebody has been dealing with him, but I think that it's time that I took a turn.

"No", I say. " We are not there. We will be there in about five days."

"Five?" Whines Squeak.

Danie groans. " It's going to take longer if you keep complaining!"

I sigh. It's still going to be a long journey. I reach into my left pocket and rub the Orb's lid. It is still vibrating. Suddenly, it gets hot.

" Yeoch!" It is vibrating very, very fast.

submitted by Over The Rainbow
(May 3, 2015 - 7:50 pm)

Danie is in quarantine due to the virus.

"What?? What is it?" I ask, bandages ready.

"The Orb Lid!" she yells.

Then she accidentally lets go and it zooms away. "AFTER IT!" I cry. We run after it, crashing through underbrush, thorns whipping at our faces. After one more bush, we see it.

The Shell.

"Awesome!" Squeak says. "That spared us another ten days of walking."

Then follows a debate about what we should do with the Orb pieces. Ellie and Over say that someone should carry them both so we can easily find them. Squeak and I say that someone should carry the Lid and someone else the Shell, so that if we lose one bag, at least we won't lose everything. Squeak and I win, and Ellie ends up carrying the Shell. We walk back through the path we made and then we see a treasure.

A blackberry bramble! Just when it was looking bad, food-wise. We spend the rest of the day picking blackberries and putting them in our bags. The good news is, we get two gallon bags of blackberries. The bad news is, we lose about twenty Band-Aids. Ah, well. C'est la vie.

When we've picked all the blackberries, it's dusk. We pitch the tent, start the fire with some of the blackberry bramble ("That bramble was the gift that keeps on giving," Ellie says), and have half a gallon of blackberries between us and a granola bar each for dinner. We go to bed pretty happy.

I'm glad not to be battling. Those berries were delicious! But now I have a big responsibility in my hands. Literally. It was really hard not to get juice on it. I'm glad I'm in my good shoes. I'm also glad to finally be out of my PJs. Thank goodness! I'm fine sleeping in my clothes. I don't want to be in pajamas for a few months now. I get into our tent. I'm pretty exhausted. I actually fall asleep pretty quickly tonight.

My dreams are not pleasant. I'm reminded of the virus. And that again I don't know where my housemates are. There are not many words in the dream. The last ones I hear before I wake is, "10".

Shadow~

I wake up to the nasty taste of a fire extinguisher. I'm in a large stone cave, lighted with a lamp on the roof. Then I find myself tied down with ropes. Nothing I couldn't fix with fire. So I tried. Nothing.

Wait........ Fire extinguisher?  Whoever tied me down was clever enough to spray a fire extingusher down my throht so I couldn't breath fire.  Too clever.

Another thought comes to me. What happened to all those numbers in my head? They are gone. I don't know how, but they are gone.

While I am trying to free myself,  I see the hooded person come though a door I didn't see. "Ok" I growl at him. "I don't know who you are but you aren NOT, NOT, NOT, going to get away tieing me up like a turkey.'  He throws off his hood and smiles at me. "Seems like I've already done that"

His hair is the blackest of blacks, with skin almost white in color. His eyes are blue, with flecks of silver. If I had ever seen a Derp's face, it would look like this.

I bare my fearsome four inch fangs. "Untie. Me. Before I do something desperate."  He eyes my fangs. "Hurrie up, Derp" He flinches, "Don't call me Derp, my name is Schil"  "Whatever. Just untie me. I wouldn't eat you."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I Promise the rest of it tomorrow. Really, I will write the rest of this all tomorrow. I am very bizzzzzzzzzzzy.
I promise.
Oops, didn't relize Danie was in Quarantine! Pretend that Ellie said that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My feet are sore, my hands are stinging from cuts, courtesy those lovely blackberry bushes, but at least I had a good meal. And now we're on the road again.
"Are we th-"
"Squeak!" says Ellie, "you know we aren't there yet! Stop it!" She sighs. I sigh. Somebody shakes her head and sighs long and wheezy, gently teasing us. We all crack up.
"So, any ideas as to where the Shell could be?" Somebody asks.
"Nope."
"Nope."
"Actually, yes." All eyes turn to me. " I do have an idea. That is, Danie told me something when she was dilusional. I don't know if because of that this isn't true but-"
"Just tell us, please!" impatiently grumps Squeak.
"She said that the shell is in that really creepy cave, y'know, the one we call the Tarantula Cave? She said it is there. And she also said to use the numbers..." I glance away for a second. What does she mean by that? "She also said that we don't have the numbers yet. But the number part could just be because of the virus. Hey, hold on! What are wwe going to do about the virus after we fix the Orb?"
"I think that that might fix the virus, once we repair it," says Somebody. "But the truth is, I'm not sure. So if it doesn't fix the virus..."
"We just have to find a cure!" Exclaims Ellie.
"A cure. That's perfect. And obvious. Why haven't we thought of that before?"
And we just found the Shell. Let's just replace "Shell" with "Core".
Somebody~
"Well, I'm tracing the signature and Danie's right!" I say. "I'm picking up a strong emanation of energy two days away, in that very cave!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~TWO DAYS LATER~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We stand at the entrance to Tarantula Cave. I reach my hand inside. "I can feel it," I murmur.

Ellie stretches her hand in. "Feel what? I can't feel anything," she says.

Over does the same. "No, neither do I."

So Squeak tries it. "Nor do I."

"It must be my electrokinesis! If the Core is in this cave, it must have to some extent returned my powers..." I muse. Then I realize something. "Yes! This whole cave is made of electranium! It straightens electric signals!" We walk in, but there's a dead end. "Use the numbers... I've got it!"

"How? We're all vaccinated!" Over cries.

"Well... I've bred a form of the virus that can overcome vaccination." I pull a syringe out of my pocket. It's full of binary code.

Before anyone can stop me I plunge the needle into my arm. I wait for the disorientation, binary code invading my thoughts, but it does't come. Binary code flashes a bit at the edge of my vision. And I can understand it!

"It must be the electranium..." I whisper in wonderment.

Then I see a glowing hand shape cut out from the rock. "There!" I cry, pointing to it."

"Where?" Squeak asks.

"There's nothing there!" Ellie says.

"What are we looking for?" Over inquires.

The virus. Of course. I walk over to the handprint and place my hand in it. The slab of rock moves aside, and there on a pedestal is a purple glowing sphere that can only be the Core.

"Cool! Wait, what happens if you touch it?" That's Squeak.

"I have no idea. You could disintegrate completely, be electrocuted, or... or nothing could happen at all."

"Let's touch it together, then," Over says.

"No, then no one would no what happened to us. How about two of us touch it, and if we die the other two go back and get an Admin?"

This is agreed. I grab a marker and four leaves. On two leaves I draw a cross. The other two I leave blank. Then I turn all the leaves over and place them on the cave floor, mixing them up. "We each pick a leaf," I say. "If your leaf has a cross, you touch it. If it's blank, you look on." So we draw the lot.

Over and I get the crosses.

We sit down next to the Core.

"If I die, split my stuff equally between you guys," I say.

Over and I reach for it...

and make contact...

and....

and...

nothing happens.

"We're alive!" I yell.

"Yay!" Over cheers. I place the Core into my bag. Then suddenly four hoverboards appear. "Yes! These'll get us down the mountain TODAY! This calls for a party!"

We open the chips and soda, eat the rest of the blackberries, and make s'mores with the remaining s'more stuff.

This is fun!

Shadow~

After Schil had untied me, I put on my most  terrifying dragon snarl. "You've got some explaining to do."

"No I don't."

"Yes you do. You're just as  annoying as a Der-" "Don't call me that!"

"Then you better get me some answers. Why don't I have the virus anymore?"

"Because of the cure the Dark-"

"Dark whos?"

"Dark ones," he admitted reluctantly, "but, please, remember what you are here for."

Oh. I remember. "Right then, what do you want for repayment?"

"The Orb. I want to see this Orb of yours."

"What?! I am not going to let any De-" "Don't call me that!"  "-Near the Orb. Besides, it is missing"

"You did promise."

"Alright, I did."

"And I know some of your friends are searching for it this very moment."

"So?"

"So if they find it, you can fulfill your promise."

"But I would have to be in the city, and I don't know how to find you."

"You could bring me to the city with you."

The idea was  absurd. But the more I thought about it, the more sense it made. "Alright, l'll take you to the city. But one false move, and you're dead meat. You hear?" He nods and we go out the door.

The night is clear and dark. Perfect for flying.

I just hope I don't regret this I think as I soar up over the treetops, with a rider on my back, for  home.
