Continuing...

Ianthe~

...Winters and I mingled with the others for a while, and soon we'd formed temas: Boreas, Artemis, Athena, Hestia, and Apollo against hermes, Posiedon, Hephaestus, Ares, Zeus, and Demter.

I was posted nearby our flag guarders. Armed with my sword and bow and arrows, I waited until I head a horn blare through the forest. Expecting some sort of attack or charge, I fitted the blunted arrow (we weren't allowed to use ones with points on other campers) into my bow.

CRACK! I heard the sound of leaves underneath someone's foot cracking behind me. I jerked around, but all there was was the flag guards pacing around the tree on which our flag had been draped. It must have been them. I returned to searching the empty fields in front of me for any sign of adversaries.

Then I heard a shhhhh sound. Was that someone telling another to be quiet? No, just the wind...

There was a movement somewhere, and I knew what was going to happen a second before it did.

"FREAKEYE'S GOIN' DOOOOOWWNNN!!!!!!!" Josh yelled as he and his buds burst through the trees. How could I have been so stupid? There was a nearby dried-up ravine, which led all the way into enemy territory. That's how the other team had gotten in.

I fired a bunch of arrows into some guys faces, and they stumbled. I was about to aim one for Josh, when the dude named Brutus knocked into me just as I released the bostring. Swit.

"Ooooooomph....." My arrow had hit Josh in the soft spot. When he recovered, he charged at me, wrenched my bow from my hands, and cracked it in half.

"Nooooooooo!!!" I tried to punch him, but when I made contact with his skin, an electric jolt shot through me, and my hair stuck out like a mad scientist's. Son of Zeus... curse him.

I didn't have my best weapon and I was literally electrified. The only thing I could resort to was the sword.

Argh.

I swung at him, making a small cut across his chest. He swung at me and grazed my ribs. I punched Brutus in the nose as he tried to help Josh, then resumed the duel. I aimed for his body. He blocked. I aimed again, and he grabbed my wrist, trying to make me drop my weapon. But he got too close, and I hit him in the face with the butt of my sword. He stumbled backwards and fell into the empty ravine. It wasn't too long of a fall; he wasn't going to die.

One of the flag guards,  heard the commotion (finally) and came to help me, the kid named Jamie. We pushed and punched and attacked again and again until our opposers retreated, which was strange, because some of them hadn't been touched at all. Why would they...

My eyes grew wide at the realization:it was a distraction. Someone was going to the flag from another angle.

Sure enough, Jacob Hogan, an unclaimed demigod currently residing in the hospitable Hermes cabin had tackled the other flag guard adn was running across the field, whooping and waving it triumphantly. Jamie and I raced after him, but he was too fast. He was going to cross the borderline soon, and we'd lose, and it'd be all my fault.

But then Jamie started pointing at something running...no, gliding rowards us. Winters! And she had the other team's flag. She and Jacob were racing towards the borderline as fast as they could, but Jacob had a headstart. i saw a flock of crows watching from a tree on the borderline. Then I had an idea.

"Slow him down!" I told them. They nodded and flew towards him like bomber planes. Jacob's eyes widened and his mouth dropped. They started pecking at him, and he fell down...

But then he picked himself up and kept running. He and Winters were equidistant from the line. Who would win? Come on Winters, you can do this..

They crossed the border.....

at the same time.

There was a silence. Even my bomber plane birds stopped moving. Chiron rushed onto the field. "Well! There hasn't been a tie in fifty years! The winners are... everyone!"

Phew! I wiped the sweat trickling down my forehead. Winters was grinning broadly.

"Great job!" I told her. "You were really fast."

"Good job to you, too," she replied. "I saw you battling the snipers over there. You might not be proud of yourself, but you should be. Great gods, seven against one!"

"Thanks..."

Justice~
As soon as we hear the words "Capture the Flag", Helena and I run off to find someone to take us on their team. I finally see Winters and Ianthe assembling a team.

"'C'mon, let's go ask if we can join them," I say to her. We run off.

Finn
I tried to explain to Alisha about capture the flag. Being new, she didn't yet understand about the ways of demigods.
"But-can't you get hurt?" she cried.
"Um... not usually," I replied, but I guess it wasn't a suitable answer.
"You'll be fine. I'll put you on border patrol," I assured her, helping her get her armor on and handing her a huge shield. I was a defender, a couple other kids from our team and I guarded the flag stuck in Zeus's fist.
"We are planning a distraction," one of the kids announced. He had blonde hair and pointy ears. I always had trouble remembering who was who around camp. "Josh, one of Zeus's kids, is taking some demigods to get the main defenders away from the flag."
"Sounds great." I sigh half-heartedly. We wait for a while. There is screaming and fiighting in the distance.
"I'm going in!" the blonde-haired kid declared. "Can you cover for me?"
"Of course!" came another voice from around the corner. I noded in agreement. The blonde-haired guy ran of into the trees, and there was stillness once more. Suddenly, a very strong gust of wind almost blew me over. The girl I saw in the tree earlier today stands on top of Zues' fist.
"That was way too easy!" she shouts, tossing her purple hair. I close my eyes, imagining long strands of wheat growing taller and taller. Tall enough to be giant's wheat, I thought, concentrating. As the girl glided off the rocks, I made the wheat wrap around her ankles, pulling her down. She kicked through it easily.
"Lame. That's the best you can do?" she began floating away. The other defender chased her with his sword, but it was too late. I sighed. Another game lost. As I trudged out of the woods, cheering erupted.
"What's going on?" I asked another camper. "I thought we lost."
"It's a tie!" he yelled.

I wandered to the mess hall, high fiving my friends and eating an apple.

"'Hoy, Jacob!" I called, praying that he wouldn't find my heavy Welsh-Scottish-Irish-piratey accent odd, "want to sit with us?"

We should have lots of perspectives on capture the flag.

I think it's good we get in some practice with "combat writing" so when later we go out into the real world, we won't just be like:

I fought the monster a long time.

Then he stabbed Joe, and he screamed.

How dare he stab Joe!

Ianthe~

"You're gonna pay for knockin' me off a cliff," Josh snarled, his expression no longer teasing or amused. He was mad.

"It wasn't a cliff, bonehead," I was still a little bit annoyed about him attacking me so harshly in Capture the Flag. "Or do you not know how to measure length? I'll teach you. A yard is three feet. A yard is about this long." I streched my arms as far as they would go.

I continued, "Oh, wait, your arms are too longer. You can measure by your ego, that's about a yard long...no, sorry, wait, it's bigger..."

As the sun peaked through the trees, Josh's face was illuminated, and his eyes seemed to light om fire.

"Yeah, coming from who? Freakeye? Daughter of da goddess of da moon and da tweez and da biwdies and the widdle wabbits?" he retorted in a horrible mock baby voice.

I gasped. Several people around me gasped too, and a few paused to watch. It was one thing to insult me, but quite another to insult a goddess.

Josh seemed to regret it. His hand was clapped over his mouth, and he was looking at the sky fearfully.

"My mom will murder you in your sleep for that, or send a rabid wolf after you," I told him. I took a deep breath and tried to cool down, though my face was burning with anger. "So anyway, where were we? You could measure a yard by your stupidity...no, that's bigger than a yard. You can measure by your skill...no, that's a lot smaller than a yard...hmm...I know how you can measure! I know how you can meaure! You can measure witha yard STICK!" I picked up a large branch and threw it at him. It hit himm in the face. A small trickle of blood ran down his cheek.

Oops. I han't meant to make him bleed.

"You little..." Josh sneered as he lunged towards me, but he never got to finish his sentence, beacuse just then, a rumble came from the forest. A herd of deer, a dozen Stymphalian birds (flesh-eating pigeons) and about fifty squirrels burst out of the forest.

"What the..."

Several people screamed, but the wild animals only had eyes for Josh. H e screameda gigh-pitched, very un-Josh-like scream. The deer tried to run him over, the birds pecked at every inch of exposed skin and tried to poke out his eyes, and the squirrels were screeching and throwing nuts, rocks, and dirt at him.

The curse of Artemis.

It was beautiful.

Nenya-

"Hold that thought, Jacob," I say, running to see the commotion.

Animals. Forest animals everywhere.

"HOY!" I yell. The kids stop. My accent is always surprising.

"What in the name of integers, water pressure, and Hades is going on?" I yell at someone.

"Um, it's the curse of Artemis..." someone says. Oops. I guess my "swearing" is confusing to, er, less intelligent students.

~Winters

I could sense tension ragging through camp.

Screams erupted from where I left Ianthe and Joshie. Catching a westward breeze, I slipped higher into the sky, peering at the situation below me.

All of nature seemed to be teaming up on Joshua. Squirrels lobbed nuts at his brown hair, even the birds seemed to despise him.

"Boreas," I chanted, "grant me strength to save Joshua, to please Zeus."

I felt the surge of the power of the North Wind flowing through me. Fluttering to the ground, I extended my hands and focused my mind on Josh.

A cone of freezing wind blasted out of my fingertips. Animals ran for their lives. A few unlucky critters were frozen in a thin layer of ice. Josh stood in the center, cold and dumbfounded.

"What was that for?" he snapped.

"Don't you get it?" I smirked, "I saved you, Zeusie boy. You should be more careful with that Ianthe, she is trouble, alright?"

"I CAN outwit her," he laughed. "I'm a son of Zeus, the most POWERFUL GOD OF ALL."

"Pft," I groaned loudly, "spare me of that idiotic comment. If you REALLY want to defeat her, you need to get on Artemis' good side, which would be near impossible, since you're a boy."

Guys, I know Queen Elizabeth, and if this RP takes place before Lyra's, then Ida will be there. Queen Elizabeth will not be joining this RP (at least, I do not think so) So Ida will be a background character, if that's all right.

Finn

I barely registered the hordes of animals before they were blown away by a freezing wind. I shivered. I had never liked the cold. A couple people cheer. Chiron got everyones attention and we all head towards the ampitheater for campfire and s'mores as if nothing had happened. After campfire sing-a-long, we go back to our cabins for showers and fun bed-time games until curfew. At least, that is what we do in our cabin. As the Demeter cabin is preparing for "lights out," a soft knock came on the door.

I ran towards Winters.

"Oh my gosh! Was that you who stopped it? I'm so glad! I mean, at first it was funny, but then I was thinking, those squirrels have some sharp teeth! And I didn't know how to make them stop, they weren't listening to me..."

Winters rolled her eyes. "Yeah, he should be a little bit more careful, but don't worry. I don't think he'll insult Artemis again."

"I try to make peace sometimes, but then he says something to make me mad! And I lose control..."

"Yeah, try to think of it like shooting the arrow. When the wind tries to blow it off course, don't let it, OK?"

"OK."

"You're a good person Ianthe and patient...except with Josh. Try to be."

She walked away to her cabin.

I am so lucky to have a pal like her.
