Steampunk pirate RP!!!

Steampunk pirate RP!!!

Okay, the name explains it mostly. But ill explain some of the plot. I'm going to be the captain, ready to hire a crew. But of course, I don't advertise the fact that I am a pirate. I, and my ship, have another secret. So basically that's it....the rest of the plot will happen as we go along. Here are the places for the crew.

_____________

Captain: MEE

First mate

Second mate

Able-bodied sailor: there can be more than one. Basically the common sailor, and need to know everything about the rigging. The backbone of the crew.

Sailing master: in charge of navigation. Could be a girl.

Carpenter and Surgeon: Could be a girl

Master gunner:  responsible for the ships guns ans amunition. If you have to be a girl this rank can be.

Cabin boy: hopefully a boy.

Powder monkey: younger sailors who run back and forth giving the guns amunition and whatnot. Could be a girl.

Cook: Could be a girl.

_____________

Name: Capn' Crow Sharpen

Age: 25 (twenties please, maybe early thirties)

Rank: Captain

Appearance: Long curly brown hair, sea blue eyes. She has a cutlass, a gun, a pirate coat, and a pirate hat without a skull. She has poofy marroon pants. She is tall and skinny. She also has a metal arm, steampunkish, it works better then a real arm.

Fighting ability: One of the best, she takes use of her surroundings in battle.

________

Capiche? And try to use this form, thank you!

Meryll is from the small island of Feld. Feld is very cold and belongs to Caid.  So, she's from Caid. Caid is very medical, and is filled with doctors, dentists, psychiatrists, etc.  Most of the doctors from Caid either work there or in other countries. Meryll wanted travel so she joined. This is looked down upon.

Good?

Nameless is from Yakeshire, a large country on the edge of the world. It's ruled by a tyrant and... oh, not yet. You'll have to find out! ^^

Muron is from Khire, a rocky, smokey, dusty, volcano filled country. It is very dry with few streams or lakes. It has no trees just a lot of tall, reddish, sharp rocks that match the red soil.

It only has two large cities which are around lakes. Very few people live outside the cities as there are many dust storms, volcaneo eruptions and almost no plants or animals or water.

Its borders do not touch the sea.

Okay, I think we've got enough to start now (though we do need a full ship's crew, so new charries still welcome)! Katydid, do you want to do the honors, or should one of us make the first post?

Thank you very much. I shall do so.

Crow~

I sit in the tavern, at a table, all alone. I flex my metal arm and smile. I'd spread word that I was looking for a ship's crew. Now, just to wait for the unlucky few that needed a job. I sigh and take a swig of my watered-down ale. I needed to stay sober...not that I really ever get drunk, but...yeah. I sighed again and scanned the room. I'd had a young kid looking for a job, but...too young. So I declined him. I had hoped I could get my crew in a night, but...so much for that..so far.

Muron~

I walk into the smokey tarvern. filled with people.

I am here because I am out of work and I've heard someone needs a crew. Although I'm more of a land lubber than a sailor.

I see her sitting alone at a table. I recognize her because she was at the market this morning, looking for a crew. She smlies as I approach. "You want to be one of my crew?" she asks.

"What's the pay?" She tosses a few coins on the table. Not much, but I might not have a better opportunity for more pay. I lean on my broadsword. She looks at it suspiciously. "It's a deal" I say "I'll be one of your crew." "Good," she says and smiles again. "The ship leaves in a few days. Look for me at the port tomorrow and we will discuss the details."

P.S What is your ship's name?

Name: Errin Steel

Age: 16

Rank: Sailor

Appearance: Tall and thin. He has black hair and green eyes. He wears a black sailor jacket and those pirate puff shirt thingys with sailor's pants and boots.

Fighting skill: He is a fantastic Groveland kickboxer. (Groveland kickboxing is a combat sport in Groveland, an island that's a part of the rebublic country.) He was taught by his father.

Captcha says KFC. Fried chicken anyone?

In Feld , there is a strict no-alchohol rule. Also, I forgot to say that her hair is the same length all around, and she wears tall boots over her pants.

Meryll

I do not like taverns. None of my people do. In taverns there is alcohol and when you drink alcohol you make mistakes and when you make mistakes you end lives. Or at least that is what they taught me. If I am to find the work I want, I must face my fears.

I enter. It's just as I thought it would be. Dirty. I sidestep my way over to a girl with a mechanical arm. "You here for the crew position?" She asks.

"Yes, I'm a doctor." She looks pleased.

"From Caid? I was about to offer you a drink."

She tells me where to go and I leave. I'm glad to be out of there.

Oh, I forgot to mention that she has two mechanical fingers -- her index fingers.

Nameless~

When I was in the market square, I saw the poster asking for a ship's crew. I knew enough about ships to be suitable for the position, and besides my life on land had to end.

I walk into the tavern later that night. I don't drink alcohol because of what happened with Father, but I figure that that's the most likely place for a pirate captain to be.

I am right. There she is, with the hat, the coat, and a mechanical arm. I carefully ask for a lemonade, then sit down across from her. Another person is just leaving.

"I hear you're looking for a crew," I say casually.

"That's right. You interested?"

"I have a bit of knowledge about the seas," I say. Of course, this is a lie. I've spent years on the Ukiki Sea when I was running away from Father. But no one must know that. Especially who Father is.

"Fine. We leave in a few days. Meet me at the port tomorrow and we can discuss the details."
I exit the tavern, flipping a Reksin onto the counter as I go.

_______________

I thought up some money ideas:
A Yotus is about a dollar.

A Reksin is about five cents.

A Ituri is very rare; maybe two grand in dollars.

(Could this take place kind of not in these days? The money values make more sense that way.)

I join too many RPs.

Ruth Lece

Age: 23

Rank: Cook

Appearance: Dark red hair, green eyes, but she wears an eyepatch. This, however, is not to cover a bad eye-- both of her eyes are perfectly fine. It's to always have one eye night-vision ready. Wears the classic pirate updo: Slightly ruffly shirt, pants, even a bandana. Oh, and high boots. Also has her rapier.

Fighting skill: Uh, GREAT. She has a rapier and knows how to use it, plus can take anything thrown at her to turn it to an advantage. Her rapier is called Kraken. Also, she cooks well. She would do well on Cutthroat Kitchen.

The money idea is fine, it's steampunk, so kind of the future, and whatnot. And good idea with the eyepatch Somebody the RPer. I was going to do the exact same thing, for the same reason...but Crow already has a mechanical arm, so, yeah :P

Ruth~

I see the flyer. Ship's cook wanted, it says. Well, I'm a cook. But I prefer the term "home-economical rapier."

I decide the tavern would be a likely place for a captain. I like taverns, though I don't drink alcohol except on special occasions. Taverns are good places to get information. Anyway, I walk into it, order a lemonade with a shot, and then set it alight and watch the alcohol burn out. Then, when the flames stop, I take a sip and glance around the tavern. There she is. She has a mechanical arm and looks like she's about to set sail. I walk over. "I'd like to apply for cook."

"Can you fight?" she asks.

"Yes," I tell her, unsheathing Kraken. "And I can cook in any condition, with almost any ingredients, for anyone."

She smiles. "If you're as good as you say you are, cook, you're hired."

"I prefer the term home-economical rapier. I'm Ruth Lece."

"Wow, you are?"

"It's my name. Ruth... L-E-C-E. Ruth Lece. But it depends. Do you want me to be?"

"I'm Cap'n Crow Sharpen. We leave tomorrow at the docks."

"Can do," I say, and pay for my lemonade. I leave the tavern, which is brightly lit, and step out into the dark night, changing my eyepatch and using my night-vision ready eye.

~Jazz~

Well, count this among the Worst Situations I've Ever Been In. Hovenport is a wild Quennish city, wild and mean. I have no money. No money means I have no place to stay. No place to stay means I have to carry all my tools and supplies and little trinkets around with me, which means they could be stolen at any time. No money also means no food and no water, a much more immediate problem to say the least. Since those rum-soaked ruffians burned my little boat, the Tinker's Belle, to the waterline, I'm stuck here. Things had better look up in two shakes of a turkey's tail, or I'll end up begging on the streets!

And then I see the notice tacked up outside a tavern, written messily but in costly red ink: "Avast ye sailors-to-be! Need a job? Want some quick pay and a little adventure? Make yerself known to CAP'N CROW SHARPEN, looks sommat like this picture. Currently needed: plenty o' able-bodied seamen, skilled or not; master gunner; tinker; carpenter; master navigator; ye who's seaman enough to be officers." Beneath the heavily blotted text is a rough sketch of a woman in ship captain's clothes, with dark curly hair and a mechanical arm. Apparently the list of available positions used to include "surgeon" and "cook," but those have been crossed off. They're not what I'm interested in, though; the word "tinker" has already caught my eye.

I enter the tavern, eyes searching the crowd for the woman in the picture. Finally I spot her at a table in the corner. There's no missing her. Her left arm is all gleaming bronze and steel, her face has a sharp, elfish quality that immediately makes you think of half-truths and mischief, her clothing is rakish and flamboyant. Yep, this is Cap'n Crow Sharpen, or I'm a monkey's uncle. As surreptitiously as I can manage in my own rather odd garb, I cross the crowded room and sit opposite Crow at the same table. She casts a nonchalant look in my direction and sets down her mug. "Well? What do you want?"

"I saw your notice outside. Are you still looking for a ship's tinker? I have some skill in the trade, ask Master Devarre in Irailles if you want proof. I'm Sarch [from Sarce] by birth, but I'm...ah...in a bit of a bind if you know what I mean, need some cash, not to mention a way out of Hovenport. So, you interested?"

"Interested?" Crow laughs with a sound like birds calling, seagulls perhaps. "Of course I'm interested. You look the type to be a tinker and a good one at that. I can get you a berth aboard ship fast as you please, if we just discuss pay first."

Five minutes later, we have discussed pay. Looks like I've just made a friend, and the bargain of a lifetime.
