Steampunk pirate RP!!!

Okay, the name explains it mostly. But ill explain some of the plot. I'm going to be the captain, ready to hire a crew. But of course, I don't advertise the fact that I am a pirate. I, and my ship, have another secret. So basically that's it....the rest of the plot will happen as we go along. Here are the places for the crew.

_____________

Captain: MEE

First mate

Second mate

Able-bodied sailor: there can be more than one. Basically the common sailor, and need to know everything about the rigging. The backbone of the crew.

Sailing master: in charge of navigation. Could be a girl.

Carpenter and Surgeon: Could be a girl

Master gunner:  responsible for the ships guns ans amunition. If you have to be a girl this rank can be.

Cabin boy: hopefully a boy.

Powder monkey: younger sailors who run back and forth giving the guns amunition and whatnot. Could be a girl.

Cook: Could be a girl.

_____________

Name: Capn' Crow Sharpen

Age: 25 (twenties please, maybe early thirties)

Rank: Captain

Appearance: Long curly brown hair, sea blue eyes. She has a cutlass, a gun, a pirate coat, and a pirate hat without a skull. She has poofy marroon pants. She is tall and skinny. She also has a metal arm, steampunkish, it works better then a real arm.

Fighting ability: One of the best, she takes use of her surroundings in battle.

________

Capiche? And try to use this form, thank you!

Here is my second charrie.

Athena Parthenos (those of you who read HoO will get the reference)

Age: 23

Rank: Able-bodied seaWOMAN. Not seaman. SeaWOMAN.

Appearance: Steely blond hair, red pirate getup. She has a nice cutlass. Also, her most striking characteristic is her eyes. One is real, and pale blue. The other is a silver-and blue ball. A mechanical eye. However, she finds it distracting to have one mechanical, one normal, so she wears an eyepatch over one eye, though sometimes it's the mech one and sometimes the real one.  Also, she has a femininely muscular build. ANOTHER CYBORG!

Fighting ability: Quick, strong, and clever. Her mechanical eye doesn't hurt, either.

Athena~

I walk into the tavern, guided by the flier. I order lemonade with a shot. Ruth and I like a lemonade with a shot with burned-out alcohol. It imparts a nice tang to the lemonade. Then I see the captain, Crow, who was on that flyer. I walk over with my flaming lemonade and say, "I see you have an opening for an able-bodied seawoman."

"You're the second person with a lemonade with a shot applying tonight," the captain says. "The first one was Ruth. Ruth Lece. Have you heard of her?"

"Oh, yeah. We've been friends since we were toddlers. Anywho, I can fight and know all there is to know about the rigging."

"Hired. We set out tommorow at dawn on the Maelstrom."

Crow~

Jazz, what a great name. I mean, I have a name like Crow..come on. My dad couldn't have chosen a worse name. Well, its a great pirate name sure. But it's not....one of those names, the names everyone remembers. And a bird..I'd much rather be named after a fish for jolly's sake! I sigh and finish the rest of my ale. I had gotten pretty much all the crew I needed. It would be hard, everyone would need multiple jobs, but, I guess we can make it.  So I head to my ship, a lovely ship at that. Then I think of my name again, Crow...Crow and the flying ship...flying pirate ship. I grin, and enter my ship.

Uhhhhhh may I join? Is there space or a summary? Or both? If so, here ya go!

Name: Calla

Age: Well, she's 32, but that doesn't make a difference because... reasons. Keep reading. You'll see.

Rank: Anything avalable. If there's something. Avalable.

Appearance: She's a robot. She has smoot, light grey skin and... uh... robotic body parts... yah... She has a gear fitted around one eye. She wears a white, baggy shirt with a vest and a slightly soiled, brown skirt that has a ruffle on the edges, and is up to her knees on one side, and ankle-length on the other side. She wears brown, lace-up boots. Shoulder length, dirty blonde hair that's jet strait.

Fighting ability: Pretty good, espically with a sword. She can't feel pain or temprature changes or anything, which is useful, but even if she can't "feel" any damage, she can't heal by her self either.

Crow~

-the next morning-

I pull myself off my hammock and get ready. I eat a cold breakfast and relax on the deck, in the sunshine. It a beatiful day, warm, windy, sunny. I smile. And a new crew awaits. I lean against the Railing of my beautiful ship. Now, to wait.

Oopsie daisy! I just noticed the age limit. Would you like me to change my charrie's age or can it remain the same? It wont hurt my feelings if you want me to change it. Thanks!

Errin~

I was at the local pub drinking my usual. A Non-alchoholic, low carb, esy to digest beverage known commonly as the vanilla milkshake. I was sitting at my usual table while drinking. Just then, a tall woman came and sat down in the chair opposite me. She had a metal arm.

There was a short, akward silence. "Uuuh, can I help you miss?"

The woman smiled. "Yes, as a matter of fact. Are you interested in coming and working on my ship?"

"Oh, yeah. Your that sea captain that's hiring crew members. I saw your poster. What kind of ship is it? Ferry, cargo, coast guard, what?"

The woman thought a minute. "You might ssy we're a type of coast guard...we certainly do plenty of sea patroling."

I put two and two together. "Pirating work. I see. Now, what would I be doing?"

"What's your skill?"

"Well, I know a  good bit about rigging. I'm also a pro kickboxer. The championships are in a month. I was invited."

She nodded. "Mm hmm. You sound like a good sailor. You'd be in charge of the masts and stuff like that."

I smiled. "Count me in."

Ruth Lece~

"You really need to learn how to pack."

Athena surveys my crates with her mechanical eye. One contains rum, lemonade and water purification and desalination tablets. (Add one tablet for every 6 ounces of water, wait ten minutes, and voila!) One contains cured meats. One contains canned fruits, and the fourth contains a few personal belongings, dishes, cookware, cups and silverware. "I'm the ship's cook! I have to bring provisions!" I say.

"Well, it's almost dawn. Let's head out."

We grab two carts, put two crates on each, and push them at full speed through the mostly empty streets (though I do have to dodge the milkman). We crash into the docks just as the sun starts rising. We board the Maelstrom, too.

"Morning, Captain!" I say. "Wow, what's in the crates?" she asks.

"Provisions," I tell her. "Can you tell me where the ship's galley is located?"

She points. Athena pushes her cart on to the ship and leaves it. I push my cart into the galley, where I unload the beverages, cookware, and tableware. Then I push the cart with the cured meats and canned goods (Athena's) in, and unload those. Then I go downstairs to the crew's quarters and put my personal belongings there. They aren't much. A change of clothes, a hairbrush, a year's supply of antibacterial grass, a couple extra eyepatches and bandanas. My house is a small, three-room cottage-- a tiny kitchen, a small bedroom, and a teensy indoor toilet. I didn't leave much behind except for a bit of particularly ugly tableware. Everything that really matters--Kraken, the Fly, the locket with my parents' photos-- I keep on my person. My parents aren't dead, but I had to leave a couple years back and see them only about once every year. But we write to one another once a week. They gave me the Fly. It delivers letters to them regardless if where I am. They have one too, to send me letters.

Ruth~

Then I remember something.

"Stay here! I'll be right back! I yell. I grab a cart and run back home. Two more crates. I grab the crates, but them on the cart, and RUN LIKE THE WIND, pulling the cart behind me. I'm back in the galley in five minutes.

I pry open the top crate. It contains honey, nuts, teabags and dried fruit. Always nice to have something... well, nice.

The other crate has bags of flour, oats, and some salt. That we need too.

"Hey captain!" I yell. "Does your ship have some kind of cooking heat?"

I only just manage to hear Ruth in my daze. "Yeah?" I think again. "Aye. We do!" Wow. I wasn't actually expecting them to bring the provision. I shrug. Oh well. I push myself of the railing and go to show her around the kitchen. There is a large room on the bottom of the boat, kept cool by the sea. Provisions and cargo to there. There is also a hold hidden behind some stacked crates. But noes not be time to show that off. I head back up to the kitchen. "Stove, pots, knives, diningware, and The garbage shoot." I say, pointing to a window. Ruth laughs and nods.

~~~~~~~
Little sister, is it okay if I make you first mate?
Ruth~
Then the rest of the crew come on the ship. There's a robot, and a couple cyborgs. I ask about allergies, preferences, special diets, and get a few "no alcohol"s. I ask them if they mind if I add a little rum and cook off the alcohol. They say okay as long as ALL the alcohol is cooked out.
So I set about making breakfast. I just want it on the table fast, so I dice some pemmican and salt beef, toss it in a pan with a small splash of rum and a couple handfuls of raisins, and flambè. When the alcohol burns out, I pour some lemonade into cups, plate the fish and pemmican, and that's breakfast for today.
Yah!
DAAH I'm so sorry I'm really busy and I keep forgetting to writeeeeee.
Calla (like, a week earlier)~
I am not afraid of you, Crow, I tell myself. She's not looking at me, so I take the opportunity to straighten my shoulders and arrange my features into a cocky, top-of-the-world kind of expression. As usual, it takes a fair amount of self-control not to stare at the humans.
After all, I'm not one of them.
I hate- HATE- being a robot. I was never normal, because I have my own free will. I don't fit in with humans either, for... obvious reasons.
I used to be a human girl.
All I remember was a boat. There was a boat, then water. Then nothing.
I really don't know what happened, but after the operation, I was a robot.
"Oi! You! Wha' you goggling at?" I realize with a twitch that Crow is staring at me.
"Sorry, uh... ma'am..." I stammer.
"You want to be in my crew? Fill out an application." She thrusts a paper foreward, and it almost flutters to the ground before I fumble and catch it.
So much for a good first impression.
I hesitate as my pen hovers above extra information. Finally, I sigh and add a section.
Muron~
I grin as I walk along the streets of the town. Everything is finely going to work out for me. Everything. Because they don't know who I am and what I did. Because of that I grin broader and run the rest of the way to the harbor.
I see the Maelstrom, bobbing in the water. The Captain is leaning on the railing. "Hullo!" I call out,"Miaghy fine day for sailin' "  She looks at me oddly."You're from Khire?" she asks, as if she couldn't tell from my accent.
"Ay"  "Well then, get abored and I'll show  you your hammock" I get on the ship after the Captain.
The Captain shows me the berth, where the sailors sleep. Then she leaves saying, "We'll depart when all of the crew arrives."  Who knows how long that will be. I think.
I wander about the ship, geting  to know my way around her. I find the galley and poke about the many crates full of food. "Hey!" I look up. There, in the doorway, a red-haired woman stands. She is holding a rapier and looks mad enough to use it on someone. I grip the hilt of my sword. "What are you doing here?"  "I 'twas just curious and maybe a smigit hungry"  "Oh" she says lowering her rapier, "I'm Ruth, the cook"
"I am Muron"
"Nice to meet you" she offers her hand and I shake it.
Just then I hear foot steps on the deck. I run up to see who it is.
Nameless~
I carry my small pack of belongings with me up to the ship that must be the one I'm working on. It has the same aura as the captain there, and it's just as noticable. I walk up to the decks and stop in front of the captain.
"We never discussed anything. You just let me be part of the crew. What do you want me to do?"
"What do you want to do?"
I think about that for a minute. A seaman is a bit cluttered for me, and we already have a cook and surgeon. I suppose I could be the sailing master, but I never charted any of the places I went to. Finally, it strikes me. A position that's not easily noticed, that's slightly easy, and that won't get me in fights.
"Every ship needs a powder monkey," I say, "And so a powder monkey I will be."
She grunts and gestures to my cabin. Smiling, I enter.
~~~~~

I unpack my supplies.

A few articles of clothing.

A small locket- the last possetion of my mother's.

A tiny dagger. Just in case.

And last, my sewing kit.

I love sewing. As a child, I learned many skills, but sewing was the one that I held onto the most. I would do it every chance I got- help the castle maids with the mending, make tapestries to adorn the halls, make clothes for presents. The sewing kit and the locket were the only things I brought with me when I escaped.

I lay down on the small bunk and wait for something to happen.
