Personality: Quiet and creepy, but be careful- if you anger her the slightest bit, she's burst into a flying rage: not a good thing.

Other / Powers: When she gets angry, her eyes turn red and she gives them various wraths. Nasty.

I wake up, blinking my eyes in the sunlight. I groan slightly, putting my glasses on and getting out of my bed.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see a little letter sitting near my window. I eagerly ripp it open, reading what it says.

Dear Danielle,

You have been accepted into a true self experiment in which you will be attending the CB academy for all ages.

Please arrive at the bus stop at 7:00.

Yours truly, Doctor Telf Srue

What the heck? Why would I want to go to a boarder school in the middle of no- Wait.... This...I would have a chance to run away! I mean, now I have to go to this creepy school for nerds, and I HATE it!... I shove on a green sweatshirt, and look around my closet to try to find my beanie. Finding it, I pull it on my head, while also searching for some jeans.

There. I'm dressed. I might need some food, and maybe a few more clothes... I find a suitcase, putting in some jeans and shirts. Oh, I need food too! And my toothbrush... I'll pack my 3ds in there, too, with a few pokemon games. Oh, and the three musketeers! And Warriors! And Harry Potter! And a few cricket magizines, too... Uh... I hope my parents don't mind me stealing about 100 bucks from their bedroom... And we still have all those cookies left from my big sis' birthday... And the cake... Well, at least my parents can't kill me!

I'm ready. I race to the bus stop, making sure my parents don't notice me. As I walk, I see someone already there...

I clutch my brown suitcase, standing silently at the buss stop  and wondering if I'm late, or just very early. I turn and see a girl approach, glancing behind her and clutching a magazine.

"Hi, are you here for the, um, the true self experiment thing?" I ask, brushing a lock of hair behind my ear.

"You too?" she asked, surprised. I nod. She glances up and down at my outfit, my pale blue dress. "Erm, what century are you from, exactly?" she asks eyebrows raised. I shurg and stare at my shoes.

"The current one, I guess. I don't really know."

"Al-RIGHT then," she says, nodding slowly.

"Um, do you know if the bus is arriv-" We're interrupted by the arrival of a dark-looking girl whose outfit makes mine look futuristic, whispering and laughing with my twin. Scarlet looks up and freezes.

"Who are they?" the gothic girl asks, glaring at us.

"My clingy, creepy sister and some girl," Scarlet awnsers, glaring as well. I turn to the other girl, Dainelle, whose expression is hard to read.

Wait, who did you mean by "The old fashioned girl"? My charrie is really old fashioned. Sorry, just a little confused.

Erm, the girl who was talking to Scarlet was Little Sister's charrie, (whom for some reason I can't remember the name of,) and the girl talking to me was Dainie.

Emily:

I wake up at 5:00 a.m. Perfect time! I quickly get ready, and go downstairs, reading a book. I am a professional reader-while-walking. I eat breakfas (oatmeal), and read. Suddenly, I spot a letter in front of mye, along with a note from my mom. I read he note first, (I have to go to work early, sorry. Remember to pack your lunch! Love you! -Mum), then rip open the letter. It says:

Dear Emily,

You have been accepted into a true self experiment in which you will be attending the CB academy for all ages.

OK then. I figure my mom aready knows about this, so I don't give it a second thought. I pack my lunch then go to the bus stop, all while reading. When I get there, I glance at my watch. ^:30. Perfect timing.

I walk over to the bustop to see a bunch of girls. They're chattering. Two very old-fashioned-looking ones appear to be arguing with the other two. I ignore them.

.:Maeve:.

I approach the bus stop, which is already scattered with blathering girls in little groups of two and three. I drop my book bag on the vacant bench and sit down tentatively. A "beep" emerges from the front pocket. I unzip it and pull my phone out, flitting my eyes over the incoming text message.

CLARE: where are you? your dad said we were supposed to give you a ride to school? hope you're okay!

Mental face-palm.

MAEVE: omgg sorry! i'm not going to school today. i'll explain later.

"Um, hi." I glance up. A girl wearing dangly lime green earrings is standing over me. She gestures towards the bench. "Can I...?"

"Oh! Yeah, of course." I slide over to make room for her. She collapses onto the empty spot gratefully.

"This backpack is so heavy," the girl exclaims, detangling her arms from the straps and shoving it onto the ground below. "I brought a lot of stuff with me. I'm Annette, by the way."

"I'm Maeve - wait, we were supposed to bring stuff?" My hand flies to my mouth. "All I have is my book bag!"

"Well, what's in there?"

I haul out items one by one. "Phone ... phone charger ... sketchpad ... binder ... notebook ... folder ... pencil pouch ... earbuds ... water bottle ... spare gym clothes ... lip balm ... two sticks of gum ... my school ID ... twenty dollars and forty-six cents ... that's it."

"You never know," Annette points out, "maybe you won't need anything. I mean, the letter never mentioned that."

"I hope you're right." I try to mask my worry with a smile.

Annette grins back and holds up her crossed fingers. "Good luck."

"Thanks," I laugh, checking my phone. 6:59 AM.

A gust of black smoke whirls towards the bench suddenly, and I cough. Bus exhaust.

"You ready?" Annette gathers her belongings and begins to stand up.

I nod. We hurry over to join the throng of girls and climb in.

Looks like we're going on an adventure.

Chamilia~

It is early in the morning when l go check the mailbox. l always do although l have never gotten any mail.

Even if l did, the headmistress of the orphanage, Mistress Hall, would snach it away from me, saying, "You mustn't have such luxuries as that!" As if a mere letter was a crown of gold.

l trot down the stone path to the small, rusty, mailbox and slowly open it.  As l peer in, by the grey of the dawn, l can see a white letter, seeming to glow in the gloom of the mailbox.

l reach in and grasp the letter, feeling the crisp, clean paper between my fingertips before drawing it out. Fliping it over, l gape at the name on the front.

Chamilia

Hall's  orphanage,

London

A letter? For me?? l rip it open and read it.

Dear Chamilia,

You have been accepted into a true self experiment in which you will be attending the CB academy for all ages.

Please arrive at the bus stop at 7:00.

Yours truly, Doctor Telf Srue

Before l know what l am doing, l run to my small room and start packing.

First, three books, the only ones l have. Then, a change of clothes, some maps, an hourglass, and finely, my longbow, quiver, and arrows.  l stuff the letter into my cloak pocket, thinking that it might be useful.

l quitely exit the building with my suitcase and my longbow. l glance at the clock in suprise. 6:54 it reads. I have to hurry!

l run all the way to the bus stop, jab a few people with the longbow while clambering onto the bus, and finely settle down as the bus pulls into the street.

~Annette~

I sit next to Maeve in the bus. The bus is empty except for Maeve and the other girls and I, the bus driver, a few comuters, and an odd-looking lady. The lady has a pet carrier making odd noises on the floor in front of her and is writing with a quill pen in a black spiral-bound notebook. She tucked her long dark hair behind one ear with an ink-splattered finger, then suddenly glanced up, looking straight at me. I look away, shuffling my backpack around with my foot. I can feel her turn her gaze away. I whisper to Maeve, "What's with that lady?" She shrugs. I glance out the window. The streets are passing in a blur- I wonder if it is they that are moving, and not I. The thought makes me dizzy, and I turn away. I unzip my backpack and pull out my green poetry journal and pencil bag. I flip to a fresh page, and pull out my favorite mechanical pencil, a slim green Pentel.

Waiting

Wondering

What will

happen next

where will

the story

take me

wondering/

who is

the true villain

watching

the story

unfold before me

waiting

to see what

will hapen next

I frown at it. I don't like the choppiness of the words- it ruins the flow. I resist the urge to scribble it out, and snap the slim notebook shut, tucking it away.

.:Maeve:.

Annette leans back in her seat and flutters her eyes shut all of a sudden. I spring up in concern. "Are you okay?"

She nods sleepily, and I exhale in relief. "I'm fine. Just a little dizzy, that's all."

"Probably motion sickness," I reply. "Here, this'll help." I press a stick of gum into her palm.

"Thanks."

An outburst of shrieky laughter erupts from the back of the bus. The driver turns around sharply. "Hey!"

Annette sighs, hugging her knees. "This is gonna be a long ride..."

I have to agree.

The girls mumble their half-hearted apologies and go back to gossiping, or whatever they're doing. I plug in my earbuds and curl up; I might as well get some sleep while I'm here.

Emily-

I get on the bus, and sit down, alone. I notice one of the other girls glance starangely at my old fashioned skirt. I take no notice of her, opening up my book. The girl turns away and whispers into another girl's ear. Then, they both laugh. I cringe, and force myself to keep reading.

I lost the twins while going on the bus, and I frantically look for a seat. I notice a few girls whisper, "Dork" to another, and I realize it's pointed toward a really old-fashioned kid. I walk up to the two.

"Ai! Be a bit more considerate of others! Not everyone wears stupid tanktops and shorts like you!" I angerly turn my heel on them and continue my search for a seat.

The kinda creepy twins are sitting with each other, while the old-fashioned kid I helped eariler doesn't seem to want any company. I finally rest next to two other girls.

" 'Ello!" I smile, dropping my little suitcase.

"Hello," one of them mumbles, and I realize they are both chewing gum. I chuckle.

"I can't have any. Stupid braces." I point to my teeth. "Name is Danielle, but please call me Danie."

"Nice to meet you. Annette."

"Meave." She stuffs a packet of gum into her bag and I relax.

"So, you guys got the letter? It is mighty weird," I ask.

"We both got it," Annette replies.

.:Maeve:.

"'Ello!" A chipper voice startles me out of my nap. I pop my earbuds out and dart my eyes upwards. A girl with a broad grin sets her luggage down next to the row of seats that Annette and I are sitting in.

"Hello," Annette murmurs, eyes still closed. I begin to slide a third stick of gum out of my pack, but the girl shakes her head cheerily.

"I can't have any. Stupid braces," she explains. "Name is Danielle, but please call me Danie."

"Nice to meet you. Annette."

"Maeve," I add, shoving the pack back into my book bag and zipping the pocket up.

"So, you guys got the letter?" Danie questions. "It is mighty weird."

Annette nods slightly. "We both got it."

"Sure did," I clarify, noticing that Danie's still standing. "What are you doing? Come on, sit with us!" I pat the seat next to me with a smile.

"Really? Thanks!" She shimmies onto the bench, so that I'm in the middle.

Annette twiddles her thumbs, appearing to be very bored. "What's the matter?" I wonder.

"Nothing," she answers. "I just wish I'd brought a phone with me. That way I could let my folks know I'm here."

"You can use mine, then." I hand it to her. "Just dial the number."

"Okay, thanks." Annette punches in a few buttons, then presses the phone to her ear as it rings.

I turn around to face Danie. "So, how much longer until we get there, do you think?"

~Annette~

I chew on the watermelon-flavored gum and sneak a look at the other girls. One seems kind of gothic or rebel or something. She has on jeans, a beanie and a green sweatshirt. There are some kind of old-fashioned looking ones, in dresses or skirts. One of the old-fashioned girls is sitting behind me, near the cat lady, reading a book. Two of the girls whisper something and giggle. The girl blushes and buries her nose deeper into her book. I feel bad for her but honestly, she does look a little weird.

I fiddle with my notebook, wishing I'd brought something to do. Or a phone. I should have brought a phone, then I could call my parents to tell them where I am. As every second passes, the whole thing seems more and more irrational. A letter delievered by bird- a True Self Experiment- how could I explain it? If I could call, if I did call, I would face a lot of anger from my parents. I sigh, tapping on the window. I suppose it's just my foolish heart, wishing for some adventure. The novelty of it was the thing that attracted me- as if the letter was an invitation to Hogwarts, the bird a human in disguise, the True Self Experiment a top-secret magic. I shake my head to myself.
