Chatterbox: Inkwell

Fantasy RPG

Rules:

1. If you join please please PLEASE stick to this RPG.

2. Only one charrie. And it must NOT be overpowered. They must have weaknesses. People with a more Snape-like character and especially one who loses at things sometimes are much much better than Mary Sues.

3. No godmodding.

4. This is NOT a fast-paced RPG. I suggest you edit and plan your posts. Insert description. If you are posting more than once a day I would appreciate you slowing down a bit.

5. Have fun.

They live in a sprawling country hidden by a crust of long-dead volcanoes and surrounded on all sides but one with sea. There is a king, a queen, princes and princesses but there are other positions of power- there are the queen’s handmaidens, who are her messengers and advise her, and there are the Mage Guilds, who work with the monarchy to protect their little kingdom. Just to switch things up, in this world the Queen is in a higher position than the King. It is more likely for Mages to be girls than boys.

Mage powers:

Fire, lightning, earthbending, making plants grow, telepathy, telekinines (but the last two only work for adult mages)

I’m thinking we could just do some court intruige. Love triangles maybe a bit of a rebellion and some betrayl along the way all works great.

Here are some characters I think it would be nice to use:

         -A villain (A Mage who wants to marry the eldest princess)

         -Handmaiden to the queen (who just might actually work for the villain)

          -The queen

         -The eldest princess (In love with a guard who always protects her faithfully. Her parents want her to marry the villain.) [14-18]

  • -A mage or two

    - The next oldest princess (who is actually adopted from a mage family) (Yes she has magic- but only ONE power) [11-14]

    A thief

First come, first serve applies here.

Charrie form:

Personality:

My character:

Name: Anura (Ah-nor-a) Shyle (Shy-ul)

Age: 42

Character type: Queen

Appearance: She has red streaked bronze hair pulled up into a high tight ponytail or braid. She has tapering fingers and violet eyes. She has lightly tanned skin.

Powers/talents: She conveys authority and her citizens are very loyal. She also is good at shooting arrows and weaving.

Weaknesses:  She is bossy and set in her ways. She makes all of her children wear formal clothes all of the time, and she makes them attend all manner of banquets.

Personality: Slightly bossy, set in her ways. She is just and kind but isn't very brave. She also indulges in her riches a little too much sometimes. She collects shoes. However she is on good terms with her handmaidens.

Habits: Folding her hands, standing up very straight

That post you wrote gave me an idea. What if Callidus' brother actually survived the fire, met the witch who is actually a double agent, and had her change his appearance, and went to work for his brother, pretending to be an earth mage student? Who likes the idea?

That sounds interesting. Though still a little creeped out with how they want to murder my character..........

Shaelle~

I wake up bright and early. My family may still be getting over the grieving process, but I still like to be on time to my personal studies. I slip on my slippers, and head to my closet, where I pull out a lovely violet dress and put it on. I tie my hair up into a bun and walk into the halls towards the classroom.

Sorry these are super short. I just take part in so many RPs, and I must write in all of them! Mwahahahaha! Yeeeeeeah......... I have a problem.

Callidus~

I slip on the chain mail gloves and look at the captain of the guard. "Alright, am I safe now?" I ask half jokingly.

"You'll still need to hold it in this box,"  the captain replies. He hands me a small wooden chest, the inside lined with purple velvet. The dagger that killed the prince rests inside, it's strange dark aura as strong as ever.

"Better make your visit with the queen quick," the captain advised. "Even holding the dagger in a chest with the gloves on  may do odd things to ya. Some of my knights that have been guarding it... well, they've been acting a bit peculiar. And they didn't even touch it."

"I'll be careful." I shut the lid of the chest and begin the short trip to the queen's chamber.

When I get there, the door is half ajar. I can see Anura sitting in a chair, her back to me, gazing out a window. "Your majesty," I say. Anura turns around.

"Oh, it's you, Callidus. What do you want?"

"I'd just like to have a short talk with you, regarding prince Timothy." The Queen's eyes turn sad when I mention his name. "It's about what kIlled him," I add quickly.

"Well, I suppose it would be nice to know," Anura sighs, "I've asked the guards, and none of them will give me a clear answer." The Queen's eyes drift to the box in my hands. "What do you have there?"

"That's what I'd like to discuss." I walk over to a chair near the one Anura is seated in. "May I?" she nods.

I sit down and put the box in my lap. "What kIlled your son is something very dangerous. I need your word that you will only look at it and not touch it."

"Of course."

I cautiously lift the lid of the box. The Queen's eyes widen when she sees the dagger. "This is no ordinary blade," she whispers.

"Indeed it is not," I reply. "So I'm sure you'd be glad to know that your son died as he lived. In a very extraordinary way."

The queen smiles faintly, obviously unsure whether to take my comment as a joke or a compliment.

I clear my throat. "Anyway, what I really came here to talk about is the owner of this dagger. The captain and I believe that the thieves that killed the prince also robbed him of something. No one has seen them since the murder so they most likely fled to escape their crime. We can hunt them down and avenge your son, but only if you give us a reason to. Tell me, did your son have anything of great value? Something the average third wouldn't dare to steal?"

Silva-

Recently I have been busy with helping milady about the castle. Though whenever I get a free moment I hurry back to my room to think. The prince's sudden death still puzzles me and the princess is now back here. Before I go back to dwelling I hear a bell ring in my room, the Queen requires me. Sighing I walk to the door, what will she ask me to do now?

"Your Highness," I curtsy.

"Silva, would you please sit and weave with me a while?" The Queen looks tired to me.

"Yes, your highness." I sit and take out my ball of yarn. It has been days since the prince had died though it is still hard on the royal family. I am sure the queen wants silence and something to keep her mind off the sorrow. She is lucky to still have her her family with her though missing one member. It has been a few years since my family moved away from the island. They are still living but to me it is almost as if they had died too. I catch the queen looking at me and I realized I must have looked pained.

"Are you alright?" She looks at me concerned.

"Fine." I immediately feel guilty for the lie. The truth is I feel miles away from fine, I feel slightly depressed. This time I keep my thoughts off of my face.

@Shadowdancer, can your post take place before my post? I've already had to discard one of my posts because of a continuation error. I really don't want to have to do it again, especially since my latest post is kind of important.

Quinn~

I wake up with a jolt, remembering all the events of last night. But was it a dream? I get up and take a shower, deciding to keep it to myself until I find proof. After my shower the day starts to speed up.

A quick breakfast.

Training. Lots of training. Today we train with no armor, to see what we would be like in combat on such shor notice we can have no armor.

~~~~~~~~~
Sorry it was so short.
Hey, um, what happened to Estella?
Sorry, I've been trying to figure out how to work her into the story--a young girl can't do much at this point. But I've been reading along.
It's ok. I've been having the same problem. Try writing about how her brother's death has affected her daily life.
~Estella~
I've seen Shaelle with that other young man, a knight, a lot lately. I couldn't recall who he is, but apparently Shaelle immediately recognized him. I've seen them in the gardens -- my room has a window overlooking them. Eventually I realized that he must be Quinn -- Sir Quinn now, who Shaelle and . . . who they . . . used to play with. I wonder if they get along after all this time.
I've been doing much of the same thing lately. Wake up, get dressed, practice flute...The routine makes me feel better. I found some novels in the library the other day. I didn't read very much before, but it's nice to escape into another world for a while. It's amazing how much is in this castle that I never bothered to think about. I guess that's true for just about everything.
Quinn~
"Nobody," I grin and bow.
"Don't you remember my name?" Shaelle asks.
I sigh. "Yes. But it just wouldn't be the least bit proper."
"Proper snoper, I will have you arrested."
"How?"
She pauses. "Why did you call me out here?" she asks, avoiding my question.
I quickly explain to her my little adventure right near my room. She nods through the whole thing, gasping on some occasions. "Alas p-...Shaelle, you cannot trust the one you love. Or come up with a secret greeting."
"Oh my..." She pauses. "What if I love no one? What if I love a female more? Like my mother." We both double over laughing.
"I...I think it will be one of those true love things."
"What if...I have no true love?" she asks, straightening.
I shrug. "Eventually you will find a man your...Shaelle."
