Chatterbox: Inkwell

Magical
Instrument RP!

In
the land where is RP is set, magic and music are outlawed by the
king, who fears that someone will become powerful enough to overthrow
him.

He
tries to destroy all of the instruments, but some still survive.
These are found by our charries, who find out that they have a
certain power by playing the instrument. Thus, the king will try to
track then down, they having both music and magic.

Their powers aren't necessarily a good sort of power. They can be bad powers.

Rules:

1.
Don't be overpowered. You can have one power.

2.
You can have up to two charries.

3.
You can be royalty. (E.g. prince, princess, duke, duchess, baron,
baroness ect)

4.
Please commit to this RP by posting AT LEAST every three days.
Seriously, don't just join then never post.

5.
Two charries can have the same instrument.

6.
Their certain power happens when ever they play the instrument,
whether they want it to or not.

Alright, here are my charries! :) I will post later.

Name: Julia Black (Sister to Jonathan Black)  Age:14

Appearance: Wavy brown hair, green eyes, usually wears her hair in a ponytail, boots, baggy maroon shirt, breeches

Personality: Happy, has a temper, loves her brother, tries to look at the bright side of things, except when she herself is in a hard situation. Harsh at first when you get to know her, but really she's just a big softie. <!--break-->

<!--break--> Instrument: Clarinet Power: Dissapearing and Reappearing. Every day she practices, her power gets a little stronger. She has to be careful so that her power doesn't take control over her. If it does, she cannot reappear AT ALL. If she does not practice for at least 5 days, her power doesn't work when she plays her instrument.

Type of music: expressive, sweet, soft. Ex: Clare de lune by: Claude Debussy or Jessica's Theme song from: The Man from Snowy River. (I know these are played on the piano, but these are just examples)

Back story: Julia and her brother Jonathan ran away from home after both their parents died to prevent from getting seperated (and to hide that they have instruments.) They have only each other for company. They both survive by Julia's pickpocketing from others in the village.

Name: Jonathan Black (Brother to Julia Black) Age: 12

Appearance: Blond hair, blue eyes, contacts, at times wears a hat, white shirt, dark cloak, long men's boots, dark pants that tuck into the boots.

Personality: Sarcastic, mature

Instrument: Cello Power: Summoner of animals. (I hope this isn't too OP...)

Type of music: Quick, adventurous. Ex: He's a pirate from The Pirates of the Carribean, Mission Impossible Theme song (Again, I know these are piano songs, but it just shows what types of music he plays)

Back story: Same as Julia's

Prince Philip~

We had taken a differnt route down the mountain. Well, not really a route. It had taken a lot of effort the one thing that kept us moving was the sound of hound dogs echoing off the mountain behind us. I had grabbed my mother's harp, along with a few peices of gold to provide us with shelter and food.

Now I can hear a lonely voice in the distance. We all stop, listening intently to the voice. No, not a voice, a flute! I motion everyone toward the sweet sound and we creep silently toward it. The faded sound becomes clearer and more distinct, we all grow unknowingly weary.

"Can...we..sit...?" The beggar asks.

"No...the..hill is...to slanted to..sit," I mumble.

Then I see it. We all do. A beautiful valley lays before us, the sound obviously originating from there. Everything suddenly seems heavy and I fall to my knees, blinking rapidly to keep my eyes open. I see a lone girl, holding what I make out to be a flute. Ah. Suddenly I feel myself rolling down the steep hill and I fall asleep moments before I hit the soft grass.

Fawn~

My scream breaks through the music and I almost drop my flute. People! Rolling down hills! I step back warily, unsure of wether the fell under my spell. Their slow breathing confirms my suspicions. I gently set my flute in it's engraved wooden case, closing it and hiding it in my satchel in caution. I walk forward, my feet making no sound amongst the soft grass. I jolt back with a squeal. The Prince!!!! I had seen him before. Why were all these people rolling into my valley? Alseep!

Why was the prince here!

Then I notice his harp. I stoop down plucking a string. A beautiful sound vibrates through the golden structure and I smile.

It takes a lot of work to pull them into the small cave. I prepare a fire and give them grass mats and pillows to lie on. They might all be royal. Each one is wearing somewhat fancy clothes.

Terrance~
I creep down the corridor, keeping my eyes on Phillip. It had taken quite a while to catch up with him. I inch closer and see he is carrying a harp.
A harp?
Does he play instruments too?
Now that I think of it, it makes sense. I had never told him about my horn (which is actually tucked in my vest right now). I trust Phillip, but he’s still the prince, so some things I just couldn’t bring myself to tell him.
I’d always wondered if Phillip was hiding a part of himself from me, and now I know that he is.
**********
I continue to follow him, when I notice he’s with someone. Two girls. One is wearing maid’s clothes. Her face is somewhat dirty, and she has dull eyes and grayish-blonde hair. She carries a fiddle. The other girl has a lute in her hands, and I recognize her from the party.
I hear a faint humming, but I pay it no notice.
Suddenly, Phillip and the others drop to the ground and roll down the hill.
Alarmed, I rush up to Peter and place a finger on his neck, checking for a pulse. He’s breathing, but he seems to be asleep. The humming fades, and I hear a rustle. I jump into a bush and watch as a tall, strong-looking girl comes down the hill, her long brown hair flowing out behind her. She has a flute made of pure gold and silver and dotted with precious jewels. It reminds me of my horn, which I instinctively pull out of my vest.
The girl looks shocked to see the prince, but sighs and drags him and the others into a small cave. My muscles tense, and as soon as she emerges, I’m ready to fight if necessary. Though I really don’t want to fight a girl.
I spring from the bushes and the girl shrieks, dropping her flute. Trembling, she picks up her flute and brings it to her lips…
“Don’t!” I shout, and she lowers the flute. For some reason, I felt there might be consequences if she played the flute.
“Sorry for scaring you,” I say. “I promise I mean you no harm.”
“What are you hiding?” she says suspiciously, and I see her eyes drawn to the hand holding my horn behind my back. Well, she certainly has good observation skills.
I show her my horn, and her chocolate brown eyes widen. “That’s a really good instrument.” She says.
“Thanks.”
Then I remember for what I came here. “What do you intend to do with the prince?”
“Nothing! I just…I don’t know okay?”
For a moment, she stares at me, her mismatched eyes hazy-looking. I don’t know what to think.
I hear a voice come from the cave, and I call out, “Phillip?”
“Terrance?” he calls back.
Then I turn around, and there’s Lyria. “I…uh…I sort of followed you.”
Why is there so much stalking going on today?

okay, I don't want my charrie, Lyria Sectabur, to be too OP, so Im taking out the part about her using the Wind of Love. pretend that never existed.

trying to get the two love triangles cleared up....cuz im a little confused.

TRIANGLE #1

so....both Ena and...Amethyst, is it (or is it someone else?) crush on Prince Phillip, right?

TRIANGLE #2

and then, for the other love triangle, though this one differentr...

1. Terrance likes Lyria (love at first sight),

2. Lyria grows to like him back,

3. but there's another girl....anyone ccan be that girl, who like Terrance, but i dont think Terrance likes her back.

4. That other girl will catch Terrance by surprise, like, kiss him i guess, RIGHT WHEN LYRIA COMES IN.

5. Lyria will be heartbroken

then, um, we'll see from there.

if anyone wants to be that other girl, they can be.  but, like, if nobody wants to do that, then i just won't do Love Triangle #2.....

I don't think you should lay it out word for word....I mean..it's good you are thinking ahead, but shouldn't we have some room to manuever?

And I guess, unless anyone else wants to, Fawn can kinda like Terrance. BUT, we should let Terrance decide who he likes. And Fawn would NEVER kiss a guy. Because she made a promise only to kiss her husband on their wedding day. That would be her first kiss.

I wake up in a cave. I've been put in blankets and my lute is with me. We must've been taken by a friend.

Hopefully.

I roll over, pretending to be asleep, ans see Philip greeting a boy and girl.

Fawn~

I run home as fast as I can. "Pa?" I ask, slamming open the door. He yelps and jumps out of his chair while I stare at hime, panting.

"Yikes Sugar! You scared the livin' bees outta' me!"

I grin sheepishly and step inside, closing the door softly behind me. "Pa, I made some new friends. Really good people. They invited me to..er..sleep outside, under the stars."

Pa raises and eyebrow, "Huh. I'd kinda like to meet them first...."

"Pa! They are doing it now...and there isn't much work to do for the next week...."

"A week! Darlin, don't be that long! But, you do deserve a break. You can have a few days off."

I suddenly realized that I was so glad that my dad didn't become a drunk because of my mom's death. "Oh thanks Pa!!" I hug him, very tight. "I'll make you some stew, then take the rest with."

He nods, "Good plan."

~~~~~
I walk up the small path, my feet remembering this familiar path. Pa's last words to me repeat in my head, Watch your back, love. I had lots of time to ponder what he really meant.
I arrive and, before anyone notices me, manage to make a fire and heat the stew up. "What is that smell!" Terrance asks, emerging from the cave with a smile. The prince follows in close suit, smiling from big ear, to big ear. A couple girls follow behind.
"I have stew!" I smile warmly at the bunch, wondering where my sudden courage came from.
Katy, is his name Peter or Philip?
Morcroft~
"You do?" l don't want to admit it, but l'm hungry.  The girl gestures to us to gather 'round. Oh, the stew smells good. Better than-, well l don't know what ever smelled better.
The girl hands us each a bowl and begins to fill them up. l look her in the eyes as she fills mine. She is prettty. Very much so, if- What are you thinking?! She's just a girl.
"It's very good," l tell her. She blushes at the compliment.  "l'm Fawn."
"Morcroft."
"Ena."
"Amethyst."
"Zayla."
"Prince Philp(?)"
"Lyria."
"Terrance."
"So, ah, you 'ave instruments."
"l don't," l say.
"Or me," adds Zayla.
Although......... "Ena?" l ask. "Could l, er, try something?"
"What?"
"With your, um, fiddle."
"Why?"
"Just trust me." After a moment, she hands me the fiddle. "Be careful," she warns.  l tuck it under my chin and raise the bow, placing it on the strings. l pull it over, a few times.
The sky darkens. A mass of dark clouds gather all while l play a few, squeaky, notes. "What are you doing?" asks Ena.
l don't know.
Of course I wouldn't be mad! It's your charrie, and something like a fictious name isn't something to get upset over!
p.s. I like Philip better than Peter actually, but I wouldn't have been upset if you'd have chosen Peter.
