Test Subject RP

Hello! I'm pretty sure there was an RP like this a while back. So, I'm not entirely sure about the plot but this is about a bunch of juvenile delinquents (or maybe not) in some government facility somewhere that are used as test subjects. For what? I don't know. Why, When, Where? I have no idea. But I figure they are juvenile delinquents because their government  wouldn't just take innocent citizens.

So about the plot, I'd like some help figuring out the details. They test chemical stuff and get "powers" and try to escape. That is the vaguest version. Also, by powers I mean weird powers, not things like super strength or laser vision. Well, you can do that, but I mean you need a "catch," for example a boy with laser vision might be blind (or something less drastic). This story is supposed to be kind of sad.

I hope someone joins this! I know school is starting but we don't need lots of people. Alter egos can (somehow?) join. I think that there should be maximum 10 people. But I'm flexible. You could be a guard or scientist. If you are a test subject, we'll need someone to be an optimist, a pessimist, and/or a leader. Okay, Here's my character!

Name and gender: Winnie (last name optional), girl.

Age: 13

Appearence: Long wavy brown hair pulled up in a ponytail. Thick eyebrows, serious face. Tan skin. Facility uniform:  white T-shirt white coveralls. She usually only wears the bottom part.

Personality: Pessimistic, gloomy, yet surprisingly friendly. Very smart.

Past crimes?: Shoplifting random junk.

Powers? (optional) Appearance change?: Weak magnetism and water control. Droplets of water move towards her is pretty much it. She can change the polarity of things. When she got her powers, the tips of her fingers became solid iron and her eyes became black.

Test subject number: 404 (She's been there for almost a year.)

Alright! P. S., Your characters may grow and change at any point, or they can become very powerful. We'll be starting when people join. Laughing

Can we start? Kira's number is 1313 (she's been there forever) and she's valued because of her intelligence and ability level.

If her number is 1313 that means she's the newest. But yeah, let's start.

If the numbers are based on how long they've been at the place, I could change my charrie's number.

Brookeira, I find that 'she knows things' and is 'incredibly smart' is too like my own character. PLEASE change your character to something else? I want my charrie to be unique. Not having one of your elbows and making it mechanical isn't much of a weakness.

Hope I'm not too terribly rude.

Okay, let me clearthe first thing up: SHe isn't a future predicter like your character, but she's empathetic. Not in a superpowered way, but she cares about you guys.

Also, her elbow is heavy and she had to learn to be ambidextrous becauseit hurts her to rest her elbow-or touch it-on anything.

Are we starting, or not?

Hi I'm so sorry that I haven't  started sooner but I was super busy with school. Actually, It doesn't really matter about the numbers btw.

~Winnie

"Wake up! You've got one minute." The guard ripped the covers off of Winnie's hard bed. She quickly got out, made it, and rushed to the line that was forming behind the guard.

When the group reached the cafeteria, the warm smell of oatmeal greeted them. They were glad they had behaved well. At the end of every week, based on their performances, they would eat oatmeal instead of gruel. Winnie sat alone at her table. There were ample tables in the cafeteria so no one would have to sit next to each other. Winnie sighed. She regretted stealing. Some of her group members chatted occasionally, but everything was mostly silent.

Later in the day Winnie heard her number called on the PA system. She had been working in the assembly line for a while. She took off her gloves, tight against her metal fingers.
When Winnie reached the lab, she kept hoping that the new scientist girl was testing her. "Please, please, please!" she thought. But as soon as she went inside she realised that it was no use to hope in the facility.
The scientists that tested them were usually cold and mean. They stared at the test subjects as if they were trash. But one newly recruited scientist girl was always gentle and nice to them. Nobody knew her name.

"This is gonna hurt," said the man, sticking a needle a little too hard into Winnie's arm. He then took her blood pressure and squeezed her arm a little too much. Winnie sighed and quickly walked back to the assembly line, only to find that the large room was empty. "Great," Winnie groaned. "I'm missing my break."

She rushed to the break room to enjoy the little freedom she had. She sat down on an old chair and tried to sleep. Winnie felt a presence above her and looked around. No one was there. But she new what it was. Winnie could sense metal. Ever since she got her powers she could. There was a vent above her.

(Forgive me if l mess up. l'm pretty sure this is how it works, anyways.)

Dusty-

Dusty pokes about the oatmeal with his spoon. Stupid guards.  He had overriden the power system  a few days ago and casued a blackout. They hadn't been happy or nice about it. He still has shivers from what they did to him previously.

And scars from his life before this place. This place is awful, cold, and feelingless, but he can't say that it worst than his life before.

What was life to him, anyways? Nothing.

Dusty doesn't eat much, he never has. He can feel the electricity all around him, for that's the only thing that keeps him alive here. There's even more electricity outside, he remembers.

In the break room, he see a girl, Winnie, looking at the ceiling for some reason. He would ask her, but no one really likes him that much. No one.

"You see the vent?" I asked WInnie in a hiss.

"Yes," she whispered.

"Give me a moment," I whispered.

I concentratedon the ventcover. It slowly unfolded and expandedinto a small ladder-like contraption. "How?" she gasped. I laughed.

"Telekinesis," I said, grabbing it.

I held on but heard footsteps.

I quickly made the ladder-thing yank up and folded it back into a vent.

Inky~

The guards enter the room, telling us that break is over. l eye both of the girls. What where they doing? Was that a way out of here?

l let flames spring from my fingertips. Someway out, l could melt the metal to find some way out.

Willow~

I'm right behind the guards, and I sense . . . urgency. Then the urgency turned into fear, and then grew calm. They had done something, something they almost got caught in... Hm. Never mind. Nothing to do with me.

My head is still throbbing from the last experiment. They had tried to make my emotion feeling stronger, and... Now all the emotions come clearer, harder... Feelings that may have been nothing but are now. I rub my head and watch as the guard leads us for some more experiments.

One after another, after another... I thought miserably.

I close my eyes and sense what's coming next.

It's easy, I suppose. To predict what's happening. Life is a pattern, a large and huge pattern.... Everything is depressing.... No happiness, for life isn't HAPPY.

I'm testing my predictions. Great. I hate giving information they didn't LEARN.

Anna-

I sit on the cold metal bench at my table in the cafeteria. The government is too cheap to give us any half decent way of living. The seats are all metal and the beds are hard, itchy cots. I want to get out of here. We're only here so that they can do tests on us. I thought the government was supposed to help its community, not hurt it. Then I realize that they are calling people in for tests. They call a girl named Winnie first, then another girl named Willow. A few minutes pass and then the PA buzzes again. Please not me, please not me. The PA buzzes some more and then I hear "Anna Rey to Testing Room C, Anna Rey to Testing Room C." Then the PA beeps and shuts off.

I trudge up the stairs to the second floor and walk across the long hall to Testing Room C. The floor plan is:

First floor- Mess Hall, storage, and control room

Second floor- Testing Rooms (A-D)  and Testing Room E (where the really terrible tests happen)

Third Floor- Test subject living quarters (terrible) and tester living quarters (luxury)

(I hope you're okay with the floor plan, Palmtree.)

I push open the heavy door to Testing Room C and my tester looks up.

"Sit down," he said gruffly.

I sat and he went over to a tray of plastic containers. He went through them until he found what he was looking for. He pulled out a small, skinny container  full of thick, blue liquid and poured it into an even smaller cup.

"Drink this," he said coldly.

I wanted to throw it on the floor, but I knew I didn't have a choice, so I held my nose and forced the stuff down my throat. Then he grabbed three syringes full of green, purple, and orange liquid.

"Sit still. No fidgeting. This is gonna hurt. If you move we have more of this stuff," he said menacingly.

I knew not to fidget, and after all my tests, I knew that punishment would be bad if I disobeyed, but I couldn't help jerking my arm away when he tried to push the needles in. He growled and left them in for longer than he had to, then he said: "For fidgeting you get punished. Come with me," he said, grabbing me by the arm and pulling me into Testing Room E.

Testing Room E is feared by everyone. It's where the worst tests happen. I couldn't believe I was being brought here for fidgeting once. The tester sat me in a chair and locked my wrists and ankles onto the chair. I sat there, scared to death, my knuckles white from gripping the arms of the chair. He approached me with an even bigger needle this time filled with a black liquid. I knew what this was. It was a "medicine" that made you so weak you can barely move for 6 hours. It's used as punishment a lot, and the recipients can't do anything except lie in bed until the stuff wears off. The man jabs a needle into my shoulder, and before I can react he drags me to my room and drops me on the bed, where I try to sleep the next 6 hours away.

Dragonrider that's awesome! But there're also some places where they do manual labor and a tiny break room.

~Winnie

Winnie crawled through the cold vent. Almost an hour has passed since she and Kira escaped. But they weren't out yet. Winnie couldn't see where she was going, but in a way, she could. She could feel the vast networks of vents and tubes ahead of her, but so far it had been a curving line. But suddenly, she could see. Literally.

A warm light bounced behind them. Slowly growing more and more powerful. Winnie froze. Some one was following them.

"Who's there?" Kira yelled, her voice echoing. After a pause, they heard "Inky. Inky Blaze."

They let her get closer until they could see her face. Then Winnie realised that the fire was in Inky's hands. She seemed to be interested in Winnie's eyes. But everyone was. They were considered creepy.

"So are we going, or not?" Inky said, impatient. Kira moved her head so Inky could see. They had reached a fork.

"So," Kira started, staring at Winnie. "Where to?"

"What?" Winnie said.

"I know you can sense metal. I've seen you. Go ahead."

Winnie was surprised. She hardly ever used her powers. Maybe that's why they are so weak. She concentrated, her fingers dangling in the air. Slowly she went farther and farther into the maze, until she had the whole building memorized. It was much bigger than she ever even knew. But before she told them where, she had to know:

"Where exactly are we going?"

"I was thinking the roof. If not, the control room."

"Okay, but we'll have to go to the fourth floor." They looked confused. Winnie nodded. There was a secret floor.

Winnie sighed. "Can we take a break first?" Using her powers that much made her tired.

"I don't think so," Inky finally said. "I think the guards are following us."

Dusty starts at the sound of clanging and voices. He looks around, but there is no one. More voices, this time the guards'. He halts in the hallway and listens.

"Can we take a break first?" He recognizes it. Winnie's. From above him, so som how she climbed into the air vent.

A few guards suddenly run past Dusty. They're looking for her. He then remembers something. Override the power and everything will be disabled. They can escape. Go out into the world. Live wonderful lives. But he wouldn't come along.
