Chatterbox: Inkwell

Animal RP

£~£~£~£

I think it's about time I made a new RP. In this one, you are an animal. You have no great purpose in life, but a mysterious messenger comes and tells you to meet at Outlook Rock at midnight in three days. You promise to, and the three days have yet to come.

You have one or two main charries, but can roleplay from the perspective of a different animal (you have no idea how fun it is to RP from the point of a crab), but only if you're absolutely dying to. Don't make anything important happen to these random animal posts because that would make them a main charrie (technically). Charrie sheet is the following:

Name: Elissa

Age: 17

Species: Snow Leopard

Appearance: Silver snow leopard with black spots, a white chest and paws, and green eyes. Bright, emerald green eyes. Long claws, long swishy tail, strong, powerful muscles, but not too stocky in appearance; very graceful.

Personality: Very hostile to animals she doesn't know, but warm, friendly, and loyal to those she knows well. She may seem a bit prickly, but is a good friend to have.

Habitat: Snowy, mountainous regions

Other: Nothing yet

Please note that this is an RP about completely normal animals. I will post first, please, to kind of explain the mysterious personage and the quest required of the animals. There are nine spots left. Good luck!

I think it's about time.

Elissa©

So we're all here. Silvia the vulture, Khan the tiger, Cress the python, Ferè the cheetah, Starsinger the panther, and Burr the bear. Seems interesting. . . We're about to start friendly conversation when we're all momentarily blinded. Finally, he's here! When our eyes recover, the Blind Man stands before us. I grimace. Why are humans so ugly? He gazes sightlessly around us, taking us all in. Khan growls, and I bare my teeth at the Blind Man. "Get it over with," I snarl. To my surprise, he replies in perfect Animali: "All in good time. You'd like to hear my message at all, yes?" Forced into submission, we nod. "Have a seat," he says, beckoning to the ground. We begrudgingly sit, Cress coiling up. The Blind Man's milky white eyes gaze intently at us, then unfocus even more than they already seem. His voice echoes and reverberates over Outlook Room Rock as he recites,

"Seven animals.

Seven lives.

At the end, one of you dies.

You will search to break the haze

Of darkness, doom, and shadow rays.

The thing that ends this glows so gold

With magic, sun, and tales untold.

You will take it, not in greed

In the right paws

It will succeed."

So. . . A prophecy. Great! Umm. .  . So basically, we're going on a quest to stop something that hasn't begun? Great.

Starsinger~

I stand and stretch after the blind man leaves, mostly acting unfased while my insides are running around screaming. I glance suspiciously at the vulture and snake then look away.

"Hi. I'm Starsinger. Call me Singer. I guess we're companions now. The rest of the group glances at me.

"Um, hi," Mumbles the snow leopard. "I'm Elissa." After introductions go around, I prance a bit too close to the edge of the cliff, gazing down at the surrounding regios and grinning a probably rather frightening grin.

"What are we waiting for, then? Let's get going!" My legs urge me to pounce and just run forever, after being in that hideous forest. The tiger, Khan I think, stands.

"Wait. Shouldn't we wait and plan a bit m0ore? I mean, we hardly even know where we're going." I snarl and pace, sending tiny rocks skittering down the cliff face.

"Well let's go find out then," I suggest. The Bear frowns.

"I think Khan's right. We should probably wait. Let's talk." I bare my teeth. Part of me is tempted to tell them to keep up and run away. I don't need these guys, I think. But the smarter half tells me to sit down and at least pretend to ejoy it. So I do. I can't even hear what they're talking about as I stare out at the plains.

"One day," I whisper. "One day soon. I promise."

.:Cress:.

We gather in a circle on the rock. There is silence, none of us sure what exactly we're speaking about. "Sssoooo.....Planssss?" l suggest,  nervously weaving back and forth, looking at each of them in turn.

Singer lashes her tail, wanting to get on the move.

"What isss thisss "haze of darknesss, doom and sssshadow rayss?"

"What darkness?" Scoffs Elissa, looking around. "There is nothing out of the ordanary, no darkness or doom to speak of."

Silvia nods. "l have seen nothing notetable. So why would the Blind Man gather us here?" The questions hangs in the air as we all consider it. Why? There is no danger.

Suddenly, Khan, who for the most part remained silent, stands up.

"l know, perhaps why." His voice growls across the silence. We look up. "There was once an old jungle legend, one that foretold of the end of days, the coming of everlasting darkness."

"And what does that have to do with anything?" Mutters Burr.

Khan wheels around, planting his front paws on the rock. He snarls. "Everything. The legend tells of a particular date, the time when darkness will fall upon the land, when each part will start to melt into each others, when the seas lap onto land, eating it up. It foretells that all of this will happen..." His voice falters for a second, then quicly regains its low tone. "....When the two moons aline above the Lake of Silence."

"Lake of Ssssilnce?" l glance at the sky, the sinking sun in one half and one of the two moons just appearing. "Where, or what, issss that?"

"No one knows. It is only mentioned once. That is all."

Silvia~

Great. So one of us dies. It'd better not be me.

I look around at the faces of all the animals, passing quickly over the face of the snake. Snakes are enemies. They eat our young. They don't taste good. They lie and decieve us. And their eyes reveal no emotion.

The rest of the animals all look determined to complete this mission. I can see that most think they aren't going to die, no, there's a one in seven chance, so it just can't be them. But that's what my poor unfortunate dinner from yesterday thought before it got picked out of its colony of ten mice by an owl. It's gonna be someone.

I hate to admit it, but I'm scared.
