Dragon Riding RP

Hey! So since I'm back, I thought I would make an RP. I would prefer if we only had five people join (including me). can we do our best to keep this alive? Thanks!

Alrighty Maple :)

Adarr~

The birds like Celeste; they gather among her, perch on her horns as if they were branches of a tree. Celeste doesn't mind her feathered kin, perhaps she relates more to them than other dragons. She doesn't lie particularly dragonish, more like a large feathered reptile.

l do not know what her past was. l had rescued her from a exotic animals dealer, who had simply found out that Celeste wasn't the small variety of dragon. l had assumed that her egg had been stolen from the nest, the reason for her being fearful of other dragons.

She had lain in the shadow of a building, simply watching. She reminds me so much of a dog sometimes.

It was early morning, the city below us was beginning to stir awake, people starting to go about their day. l normally wasn't around such a section of the city as this one, and not in this city of all places. This was Westmond, one of the largest, sprawling cities yet to be built, stretching as far as the eye could see. Spires of buildings, reaching out to the sky as if they could touch heaven, golden palaces, light glinting off their walls....Indeed, this place was deceiving. You couldn't see the blood on the streets, you couldn't see Westmond's history of civil war, brutal war between the prince and the pauper, the kind and the people, the will of the state and the will of the masses.

Liberty.

Justice.

Freedom.

Those were the words, the ideas for a better world that made a man take up arms against all he had ever known, to loose his fear in battling the enemy, but also his life as well. They meant nothing but death, those rebels. They didn't fight for the people, they fought for themselves. And they were tearing my city apart.

l had come here on the news that it was getting worse, the Duke's daughter had been killed. Everything was tilting on the edge of full-out war, or so l had heard. Whether the rebels, small in number, but skilled or the soldiers who were only serving the royal family, had the upper hand, no one appeared to know. There were so many rumors one could hardly distinguish them from the truth.

l didn't know what l was going to do here, whether l was actually going to do any good in the slightest. But l wasn't going to let them tear this city apart yet again.

~~~~~
"Grey!"
l had been keeping to the older, abandoned part of the city. No one should be here. I turn around, half-recognizing the voice. Someone who l used to know.
"Adarr Grey. Where have you been? We are fighting a war here against those scum."
The man addressing me is leaning against a half-crumbled wall. He is tall, taller then me, intelligent green eyes looking from a sharply-cut face and dark hair.
"Thomas.....Grant. l'd expected to find you in the middle of this. You and those rabble-rowsers would get along."
Grant stiffens, his eyes narrowing. He puts a hand on his saber. l was unarmed in the middle of a revolt, which was a stuipd idea. Celeste had wandered off somewhere, having a dragon at your side was always a good idea.
l cross my arms and try not to appear disturbed by the anger in Grant's eyes.
"You know what you're doing. You have no intention of freeing the people. For whatever that means. Those rebles, they're just spreading--"
Too far. Where did Celeste go?
Too fast, l have a saber far, far too close to my neck.
"Well at least we know who you support, Grey. Don't speak ill of those who free you. Dead men cannot--"
There she is.
"Celeste!"
Her head whips around, and it takes her five seconds to assess the circumstance, and another five for Grant to be tackled to the ground. He doesn't get back up. l pick up the saber from where it has fallen on the ground, shaking. l can feel the warm blood dripping from the gash on my throat. Too close.
Celeste suddenly perks her ears, and turns her head. Someone has noticed us. More rebels? l doubt it means anything well. l haven't been here a day, and l've already started conflict.
Also, if l've controlled too much of the plot, feel free to change it :)
THANK YOU SO MUCH, MAPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kristen~
I look at yet another deserted street from up on Ina and sigh. I usually live in the country, in a house in the woods, but mother and father thought I should live with my rather distant relatives in the city for a few weeks, the city away from the war. Because the animals in the woods have a sickness that spreads to humans easily.
They don't want to risk me catching it, but I don't care. There are also rumors that the war is coming here, to this city.
Well, at least Ina can come. And at least the war is as distant as my relatives. And I'll give Jacob, Athia, Annia, and Lianna a surprise, riding Ina as I am. Jacob is the oldest, 17. Athia and Annia are the twins, at age 15. Lianna is the youngest one, 13. My age. They're a wealthy family, much more than mine.
I'm jolted out of my thoughts as Ina starts to descend. I cling tighter to her beautiful shining scales as the wind rushes past me and she lands smoothly. Then I slide off and walk to the door, using the knocker to rap smartly on the door. The 'small mansion', as they put it, looms above me, and I survey the neat grey house while waiting for the door to be answered. A servant answers the door, with Lianna hard on her heels. "Kristen!" She cries happily upon seeing me. "Hello, Lianna! It's been a while, hasn't it?" I say, waiting for the shocked expression that I know will cross her face once she sees Ina. She does not dissapoint.
"Kristen," she breathes "I didn't know you were a Dragon Rider! That's amazing!" Lianna surveys Ina.
"How old is she? How long have you had her?" Lianna gushes excitedly.
"She's seven years old. I've had her for five of those." I reply.
NOTE: I'm changing Chex's name to Imperial.
I looked out the palace window, down to the streets of blood and sorrow. I smirked, this was my town. The city was on the edge of war, sweet, sweet war. The window was open, and the swirling green curtains swirled in the draft.
I helped run this show!
i was a personal assistant of a wannabe kung. (His name is Delax, by the way.) So I'm just murdering and assassinating all the people who come in line before him. It paid well, and I was somewhat proud of it. After all, Delax also promised me a place in the Royal Cathedral of Judgment. Only we two knew it was me doing the murders. Nobody would suspect me!
I also had a dragon, which made things frightening. Death from above! My dragon was mechanical -- an invincible robot of power named Imperial. He was silver, with the deepest green eyes a robot could have. He was wonderful!
Somebody knocked on the door and came in: Delax. He was short, muscular, had short curly black hair and ice eyes: dark, unforgiving eyes.
"I need you to take out Princess Araina. Quickly."
"How quick?"
"Sooner the better." He paced the room, arms crossed. "More pay if sooner." He smirked.
I hoped off the windowsill and ran to my desk. I pulled a drawer open to reveal my sets of knives and daggers.
"Quick and easy, slow and painful, messy and quick, slow and unseen-"
"Just get it done and don't get caught."
I smiled. "As you say, my king."
I grabbed the sharpest knife in te drawer and slid it into my boot. I ran to the window and jumped out, Imperial catching me and us heading to the country to kill the princess on her weekend before coming queen of the Kingdom, Oveer.
Maple, y'know the person who made a Fire-breathing dragon? That wasn't Cho.
Cho told me she's quitting, because she's annoyed with people stealing other people's reserved spots.
(I AM NOT POINTING ANY FINGERS AT YOU, CL, THERE ARE NO HARD FEELINGS WHATSOEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
So, yeah. Cho's quitting.
Leeli, I'm sorry, the RP's already started and all spots are filled.
Aya~
The old part of town.
Sometimes, it's the best place to be. It isn't quiet, not by a long shot-- no, this is where the scoundrels lurk, where the pickpockets hide with knives concealed behind their backs. This is the place where the soft pad of rat's paws cause a drawn saber, and one wrong turn can lead you into the middle of a cannibalistic gang.
But if you've got a dragon on your side, you've got quite some power.
Luft wants to fly. He always wants to fly, of course; it's what he's wired for. It's what I'm wired for, as well, but these days the underbelly of a dragon is just an excellent shooting target. The ground is much safer.
After all, there's a war going on.
A war I don't really understand, to be frank. A war that I try with every particle of my soul to avoid, so I don't have to pick sides.
Again.
Maybe if I didn't have to pick sides, things would be different.
But all living creatures have to pick sides.
There's a scuffle nearbye; I can hear it, and Luft can too. But after my time roaming these streets, I know the neighborhood, and the other roads lead to much worse than a small fight. And I can't stay much longer, either; that just makes you prey, too easy to track. No, I have to keep moving, and that's the best way to go.
So I go.
The fight seems to be over, because when I get there what I see is a man holding a saber and a feathered dragon.
Another dragon isn't good. I could deal with only the man, but with a dragon as well it will be difficult. Plus, she's obviously so much bigger than Luft; he isn't trained for combat, anyway. Pretty much the only useful weapon he has is his teeth. No, he's a dragon of flight, no good on the ground. So I have to hope this guy doesn't want to pick a fight.
I rest my hand on the hilt of my sword-- one of the two weapons the faeries let me take before they kicked me out. I'm not going to draw it unless this man expresses hostility, but during war days, you can never be to careful.
"Hello?" is all I say.
