Lost Dogs RP.............

Lost Dogs RP....................

I'm sure you're all thinking.  "Windswift your crazy! You already made a active thread!!!"

Well folks I'm going out on a limb so help me with this anyway.  :-)

This RP is set in present time new york.

After hurricane Nautica, new York homeowners are faced with choices they never thought they'd make.  And the dogs must suffer for it...

RULES AND INFO:

Basically we are all feral dogs who were brought to the pound because our owners couldn't take care of us anymore. You can also be a runaway(ex-dogfighter that kind of thing) but we all meet up at the pound, escape and then become a pack.  And then learn to survive in the wild.  (This is loosely based on survivors but I didn't finish the series so its not really)

Rules:

1. You  HAVE to be a dog, no foxes, cats, wolf, Just a dog.

2. I can't believe I'm saying this but pleeeeease no shapeshifters, just a dog.

3.  As usual don't be op.

4.  I'll place a limit at seven people, no joining once we've started.

that's it.  Have fun!!!

Speck

~~

I watched as the golden retriever circled us, then flopped down next to Bella. Tempest's eyes were burning as she watched Wateou, and I heard a low growl rumble in her throat. I flinched away, terrified of her powerful jaws and dense muscles. Tempest was the scariest dog I'd ever met. Wouldn't want to get in her way... but Storm? I glanced over at the she-dog, who was on her side, panting. Hesitantly I got up and slunk over to her, taking a cautious sniff. Her head perked up, and a smile creased her lips. She scrambled up and sniffed me back, taking me by surprise. "Hi! You're Speck, right? I'm Storm, but I think you already knew that. That's my sister Tempest, she's big isn't she?" Her head cocked up, and suddenly her fur bristled, spiking out in grayish clumps. "I mean, rar, I'm so scary! You better be afraid... Dalmatian dog..." And I have to admit, she did look a lot like her sister. But after a few seconds, her fur flattened and she grinned, looking much more playful. "Oh well, it's okay. Our people are coming to pick us up soon anyways!" she said, shaking her ruff.

I sighed and rested my head on my paws, the wet ground cold on my fur. "Are you sure?" I asked. She looked confounded.

"Well, of course!" she replied confidently, tail thumping. "They have to! They're our people and they love us!" I wish I could believe that, I thought. Brendan hadn't been paying me much attention lately. What had I done to provoke this ignorance? Suddenly claws skittered on the pavement, and a spray of water dusted my back. I leapt up, scrabbling away. My heart pounded in my chest as I whipped around to face whoever it was. A large dog stood there, with thick gray fur and black paws.

"Now, where were we?" she barked, grinning.

"We were NOwhere," growled Tempest, but at the very same second Bella said "We were talking about the Room." The dog's head cocked, and she looked confused.

"Um, the what?"

"The Room," said Bella, more patiently than Tempest looked. "The place where they take dogs if they've been here too long without being picked up." The dog's ears flattened, and she looked a little more uneasy.

"Yeah, and no one ever comes back!" I whined. I didn't mean to sound like such a puppy, but the Room was awful and terrible and scary and you would go in and die and it would be bad and--

"Well, I'll be coming back," Wateou said unexpectedly. I looked at him, questioning. ...What? How would we ever get out? He leaned in closer, fur rustling. "My kennel has a hole in it." Bella's eyes widened, and I could feel mine do the same. A hole?! That means he could escape!

"We'll," said Tempest. Wateou blinked. "If you escape from this place, you won't last a second without another dog, especially one like me. If you want to live, you'll take us with you."

"Me, too," said Bella. "I want to find Mark and Judy, and I can't do that from in here." Tempest narrowed her eyes, but Wateou looked slightly relieved. Perhaps he just didn't want to be alone with Tempest and Storm.

"Alright," he said. "Speck?" I started as I realized he had turned to me. "Are you coming?" he prompted when I didn't respond. Well... if I left, I might never find Brendan again. Ever. But if  stayed, I would be taken to the Room. Then I would really never see Brendan again. I paused, quivering with indesicion, then finally dipped my head to him.

"Ummm... yes. I--I'll come."

~Gray

The courtyard was wet and gray and dull. But Gray always found the best in everything. There was a small patch of sunlight by a strom-battered oak tree and a dry spot was always there.

When the battle scared pound keeper let her go, she saw that a group of dogs were already there. She smiled, more friends! Well, they weren't as good as her human, but....

she closed her brain. A trick she learned when she was a pup and lost her father. It just abled her to not feal sad or scared or lonley or depressed......just happy. And find everything good in a situation.

She bounded over, her fluffy fur rippling in the wind. She splashed through the water, her paws splattering mud in all directions.

She splashed over to the group of dogs, spraying water and mud over the closest ones, huskeys. "Hi! I'm Gray! What are we talking about? Wait, hold on a sec."

I paused and shook my fur, a fluffy wave sourounding me. The huskeys got up and away from the muddy drops, while Dolmation shied away.

I sat down when I was done, glanced around, and said, "now where were we?"

NAME: Stormwind

BREED/MIX: Black Labrador Retriever

APPEARENCE: Stormwind is an older dog, so he has lots if little silver hairs scattered all over his body. But other than that, he's completely black. He has strangley unusual grey-blue eyes. His fur is silky soft, despite his age, and he has a powerful build. He used to have a collar, but after his abandonment, (see background) he stripped it from himself, never to be seen again.

PERSONALITY: Stormwind is a very gentle lab, but can be very gruff (a trait he gained after his abandonment) at times, especially with puppies or small dogs. He puts up with a lot more than he should be expected too, and while he was happy with his family, he now has a very melancholy aura about him. He's a bit mysterious, and always seems to be hiding something. He rarely tells any personal information, and turns down friendships. He doesn't beleive in relationships. He says all they do is tear a dog down once they end. He thinks it's too risky to have any, because he's too afraid of losing a friend.

BACKGROUND: Stormwind's family bought him from a lab breeder as a puppy, and named him Stormy. He was very happy-go-lucky, and sweet. He loved playing, and seemed to have ever, asking energy. As he grew, Stormy became less playful and energetic, but held onto his original charm. He always seemed to be smiling. When he was six, Stormy met a beautiful white lab next door, whom he thought was the hottest bark in the neighborhood. They got to know each other from different sides of the fence, and eventually fell in love. They mated, and even had pups, but six months later, Angel, The love of Stormy's life and all he lived for, moved away with her family.  Stormy was heartbroken. He wasn't the same, although he still tried to be as patient with his people as possible. But the parents decided to move, as well, and didn't want to bother taking a dog with them. They also thought he was too sad. It wasn't worth having him anymore. So the took him far away, and dumped him. Good-bye Stormy. They promised their kids that they would get a new dog, that was happy, and that Stormy wasn't needed, or wanted anymore. They drove away, leaving the poor dog to his own wits to survive. This burned out any flickering light left in him. Stormy somehow survived on his own, hunting for food, and searching for shelter. He spent his days searching for his family, and when he finally found them, they dumped him again, making it perfectly clear to him that their new dog, Buddy, was a certain replacement. Buddy promised to look after Stormy's people, and Stormy wished he could live with his family and the Yellow Lab, but he knew he couldn't. Stormy tore off his collar and let a creek wash it away. No more was that license saying, 'Stormy Nelson, 143 Keen Lane, North Carolina' fastened to his neck. He watched it float away, and his heart hardened against his family, turned to stone by his sorrow. He changed his name from Stormy to Stormwind. And not only did his name change; so did he. There was only one thing left in life for Stormwind, his heart's one desire: Angel. He crossed many state borders before finally making it to New York, where Angel told him she was going. But a terrible hurricane hit, and nearly killed Stormwind, who was aging quite a bit. But he lived, and made his home under a tree in a small thicket of forest, until he was taken by the dog catcher.

Sorry it's so long! And thanks again, Windswift! I really appreciate it!

Stormwind~

I sit beside Maddie's bed and bark softly. When that doesn't work, I lap at her face. She giggles, and wakes up. She takes me to the kitchen and pours kibble in my bowl. The clatter wakes Peter up, and in he comes, letting me outside to do buisness. I sigh happily as Patricia pets my head by the fire. Ben throws my favorite tennis ball and I chase it. Angel licks my ear affectionately. Stormy! It's Maddie calling me. Stormy! It's Peter shaking my food bowl. Stormy! Stormy! Stormy! My family needs me! I'm not there, but they need me! No, my name is Stormwind. I don't answer to Stormy anymore. But the look on Maddie's face as she drove away. Why am I not wanted? I wake with a start, letting out a little yelp. I was dreaming. My family isn't here. I'm not with them anymore. They don't want me. I sigh. And Angel...Im so lost in my thoughts I barely notice a small group of dogs on the other side of the kennel. I walk over, head down, and tail and ears low, sure signs of submission. I sit near the wire of the kennel, listening, not making eye contact. There are two huskies, a Dalmation, a golden Retreiver, a white and grey fluffy mix, and a black lab. Wait, Black Lab? What a coincidence! I wonder if Angel's family gave her to the pound after the hurricane? There are so many dogs here... "Excuse me? I'm Bella. I don't think we've met." Im startled by the sound of another dog talking. "I'm, um, Windstorm."

"Why don't you join us over here? In the dry place?" I pad over to her. She seems nice. I figure to be the oldest dog here, judging by everyone else. I lay my head on my paws, and close my eyes. I'm not asleep, but I'm in my own mind, blocking out the world, except for one thing. It's something I learened when I lost Angel. My focus is on my love. Angel. I wonder if I'll ever find her again. But my thoughts are broken by the sound of a helping dog. I watch sadly as the dog is taken into...The Room. It's the one place where dogs are taken that never come back. I bet they'll take me next. After all, though I haven't been here long, I'm old. And I know it. I need to get out of here, and fast. I begin to listen to the conversation.

~Stormwind

Btw, forget the part about Angel and Stormwind mating. They fell in love, and she moved away. That's all.

"Well then its decided,"

I stood up, shaking the humidity from my pelt.

"We'll escape tonight, when the humans have less a chance of catching us."

Windstorm nodded,

"what of the locks?"

"Theyll be easy enough." Snowflake answered calmly.   "I've seen them before.  Its just a simple latch that you nudge out of place."

Imediately after she said those words she twimed her tail around her paws, careful not to make eye contact.  A shallow sigh reverberating against her throat.

"However..."

"What is it?"  Gray asked worriedly.

"I'm afraid none of us will be able to do so," she glanced over at Storm, her muzzle wrinkling slightly.

"Unless storm can do it, but I find that highly unlikely."

Storm stared at her questioningly, her ears limping faintly.

"I-I can do it.  Why couldn't I?" she whimpered.   Struggling to keep her head in a proud angle.

"Yeah, why?" Wateou growled.

"Because-"

Tempest cut her off.

"A pet like you doesnt know what happens when you provoke my kin. I could tear your throat out right now if I wanted to.  Storm could unlatch a thousand kennels in her sleep."

"Or maybe only one?" Snowflake hissed.

"What do you mean?" Tempest's lips curled into a snarl, her wolf like fangs bared.

"Well maybe her sibling would rather leave us here to die then help us escape.

MAYBE its to hard for her to accept help from a few house pets then just leave and forget the whole thing."

Storm began to inch closer to Tempest's pelt.

Tempest opened her jaws to retort but speck interrupted her.

"Guys stop, w-we have to stick together don't we?" He whimpered.

"Yeah but-"

"Speck's right," gray snapped. "We should try, its that or the room."

Tempest and snowflake glared at each other but were silent.

"Storm will open her kennel and then she and Tempest can help everyone else get out." I said carefully.

Then we just have to get down my hole and we'll be free." Wateou said, glaring toward snowflake and Tempest.

"But where does it lead out?" Gray asked.

"The alley. Hopefully the flood hasn't reached this part of the city."

"And if it has?" Windstorm inquired.

Wateou sighed, a nervous expression imprinted across his jowls.

"The tunnel will flood and we won't be able to make it out without suicide."

"Exactly why we'll go tonight." I finished. "Storm you know what to do?"

She nodded.

"Wateou make sure the tunnel is stable and it isn't discovered before tonight." Snowflake retorted sternly.

Wateou smiled.  "The humans won't suspect a thing."

"And keep it that way," tempest growled.

"Tonight." Windstorm whispered.   "Then we'll be free."

Storm~

More and more dogs find their way over to us, I can hardly believe how many. The others don't seem to notice. Tempest would have told me not to trust any of them. She would have told me to watch out. I'm sort of half listening to the conversation, half trying to snap at a fly.

"blah blah blah... something something something... escape."

My ears perk up. "Why do we want to escape? Then our owners won't be able to find us!"

"If we're here long enough they definitely won't, not if we're taken to the room!"

I tilt my head, confused. "But I thought that was when you were getting rescued by them?"

The other dogs exchange glances, and Tempest snorts and rolls her eyes. One of them starts to explain, but is cut off by an old black lab joining the group. I do what Tempest would've wanted me to do and flatten my ears back and growl, but he ignores me and sits a little ways away. I yip at him. No response.

Ok, sorry that was a really abrupt ending, but I have to go.

Tempest~

I know I'm being mean. And I honestly feel bad about it, but I also know that I have to guard myself from these dogs until I know they are trustworthy. I don't want a repeat of what happened with Cobra when Storm and I first left our family... I shake myself, then add a snort and a roll of my eyes to disguise my annoyance with myself as annoyance to my sister's question. As the other dogs shoot me looks and begin to explain to Storm about the Room, their explainations are cut off by a black lab joins the group. Storm shows all of the signs of aggression that I've taught her, but on my sister's kind, playful face, it just looks faintly amusing, like a pup playing at fighting. But, I feel a wave of love for my sister, knowing that she is trying to do what she knows she wants me to do. I smile, unable to help myself, and use my tail to flick Storm's ear affectionately. Later, I'll talk to her about how I feel about being here and that it's okay to tell me to stand down. I know I'm being mean, but it's just how I deal with being confused, angry, lonely, and trapped. I close my eyes, and as I take a deep breath to face the world, I promise myself that I'll try to be nicer. After all, these dogs are all probably going through the same feelings about being here as I am. I open my eyes, look directly at the old black lab that has joined us, and whine a soft "Hello. Who are you?"

Not fully trusting, but not mean either. The best I can really do right now.  The dogs that were already sitting around us stare at me in astonishment. I can tell that after my former impatience and meanness, they expected me to keep that up. I sit down and bark an apology to the dogs around me for my behavior.

Then, we begin planning our escape.

"Tonight." Windstorm barked. "Then well be free."

Gray smiled, glancing around. To be honest, she didn't kbow what the room was either. she thought they just brung dogs there to release them into the wild. But she had picked up what a few dogs had said. "Death. And no return." was what most of them had said.

~✴~

The kenel was dark and echoed. Gray didn't like it. Not one bit.

She thought of what would happen if the tunnle flooded. She shuddered.

What if they forgat about her? Or if the tunnle lead to death? Would she kill the other dogs to servive?

Yes. Kill. Destroy. Free.

No. Go away. Leave.

Kill. Destroy. Free.

Kill. Destroy. Free.

She scrunched her eyes shut, tarring her claws through the tough cement, making a sound like nails on chalkbord. She clenched her teeth into a half snarle and her ears tightened to her head.

Scar. Go away. Leave.

Scar was the name her father called her. Scar was her tough ruthless side. The side that she pushed down. Scar was fear, anger, jellosy, and greif. Scar was the side of her that was not needed anymore.

Kill. Destroy. Free.

Kill. Destroy. Free.

Kill. Destroy. Free.

No. They're going to free me. Storm will.

Forget. Kill. Remember.

Forget. Kill. Remember.

No. They will free me. They will free me.

The kenel door swong open and Gray managed to push Scar under again.

"Gray?" a voice asked worredly.

My ears pricked back up and I looked up at Storm. "Ya. Ready. Im ready."

I pulled my claws from the ground and followed Storm to the others.
