Evernaught City RP

You never meant to move here. Beneath the facade of the bustling work city you live in, there lies a plague: a plague of crime. In the stone labyrinth that is Evernaught city, five vigilantes have risen up to take on the crime.

The vigilantes don't have superpowers, aren't even all perfect. They wear masks. They have code names. They fight crime. The similarities to superheroes stop there.

Seven people can join. The positions are:

5 vigilantes

2 main villains

RULES:

No superpowers under any circumstances.

No OPness or impossile tech (like invisibility cloaks, none of that).

Name: Willomena Zora Bartholomew

Name as a "superhero": Will o' Wisp

WILL POST REST LATER

~

I'm in an unfamiliar room, and my vision is a little too hazy to figure out where I am. I'm lying on my back on a dusty couch, and the pain has faded slightly.

I'm not actually sure what really happened to me. I fell off a cliff and – what? Are my ribs broken? Do I have a major concussion? All of the above?

I remember, vaguely, all the strange dreams I had when I was unconscious. If I was receding into my mind there, I guess it shows what my subconscious is always thinking about. Weird. And... my ever-present question. Does Saana care that I almost died?

I have an odd feeling I was flying... or... something... earlier. Everything from the last day or so is fogged and confusing, and everything before that, I try to avoid remembering.

My vision sharpens. I slowly shift my head to a more comfortable position. And I pause. Saana? Crying? Over... me?

"Hey," I say quietly, trying not to freak her out. Speaking makes the agony start all over again.

Saana looks up uncertainly, her eyes bright with tears. There's an odd expression on her face, somewhere between pain and embarrassment and hope. "Hey, Andy."

I almost smile. Andy... usually I hate the name. I'm a villain, right? I left Andy behind when I was a kid. But now it reminds me of childhood, back when we were just normal kids, like everyone else.

"So... you... care?" I ask. Every word is an effort, so I'm trying to make them count.

There's a pause. Then Saana nods. I can't read her expression anymore. "What are we going to do?" she whispers.

I sigh. I'm not defeated. Just... exhausted. "What else... can we do?" I say slowly. "Accept our fates."

Since Bookeria has not been posting, I will make an inference. Though I really should be posting on my Single Write. I can't help it. This is too good to lose.

I wake up, my head aching. Slowly, I open my eyes. Quickly, I shut them again. My breathing becomes ragged. No, this is not happening. "Good," a voice says, interrupting my thoughts. "You're awake." I immediately sit up. "Who's there?" I call into the shadows. I try to get up from whatever I'm on, but some type of restraints hold me back. "Don't try to get up," another voice says with a sharp edge to it. Electricity zaps through me and I fall back in pain. "That's your punishment if you try anything." The first voice says. I shiver, what will I do?

I'm actually posting part of the story! Wow, this is stressful.

~Tariana

It's a typical dark and scary night in Evernaught City. And all the typical dark and scary gangsters are out prowling the streets of this aforesaid beautiful city. And that's why I'm here.         Nothing stirs as I slip quietly down a deserted alleyway. Except the rats of course. A bomb could fall and the rats wouldn't care or notice. Not that I want to prove that statement.          Back to real life: I pad to the entrance of the alleyway, and wait for a few moments, before a flicker of motion on a nearby building catches my eye.  It blends in perfectly with the shadows, its a minute before I can pinpoint it. I watch as it slides noiselessly down the sheer side, and land in the alley to the right. One criminal, ready and waiting. To be captured of course.                                                                                                                                     The shape hesitates for a moment before gliding away and out of sight. But two can play that game. The dingy backstreet is deserted when I reach it with silent footsteps. A sharp glance along the walls, and I step in. The floor is covered in heaps of garbage, all potential trip-hazards. So don't blame me for not being attentive. I was attentive. Unfortunately, all my focus was on not stumbling in the almost-complete darkness.                                                       But just then, something swoops in, almost slamming straight into me. I luckily turn in time to dodge, falling straight into a pile of trash. Not fun. it dives after me and I roll to the side, as it falls into the same pile. We both leap up at the same time, hands outstretched. Hers with dangerous looking gloves, me with my taser. We both stand there for a few seconds, tense. The "thing" is a girl, probably the same age as me, wearing a white outfit complete with cape. Before the newcomer can do anything, I tuck the gun back into my cape and stick out my hand.                                                                                                                                   "Dawnstreak, at your service!" I say, suddenly cheerful.  The vigilante scrutinizes my hand before proffering her own. "Will o' the Wisp" she replies. We nod at each other.                "So..." I say to try to continue the conversation "Where are you headed?"                                She stares at me. Finally, she takes a picture out. "This is-"                                               A muffled thump echoes behind me. I turn to see a tall blue and white outfitted figure with a gun in hand.                                                                                                               "It's okay, Skylock" Will o' the Wisp speaks offhandedly behind me. "This is Dawnstreak"         I smile. "So, Dawnstreak," Will continues "Have you by chance seen this person? Her name's Gem." I turn. She's holding a picture of a girl, with casual, if a bit wistful features.                    After a few seconds, I shake my head. "Never" Will sighs, tucking the photo back in her pocket. "Well do you have any idea where she could be? We don't have a lot of facts, just that she was taken half an hour ago, at most."                                                                          "And that she went in this direction" Skylock adds.                                                      I nod. "I guess you could start with the mad scientist's house. There was some commotion around there a few minutes ago. But everything was fine when I got over." The two vigilantes look confused.  "The mad scientist's house is what I call the old abandoned labratory a few blocks east of here. Something always seems to be going on inside, though its deserted when I go near."                                                                                                        "Don't you ever try to go inside?" Will interjects "That could be a whole mafia nest for all we know!"                                                                                                                    "Yes, I do" I say quickly before she can continue any further. I got a feeling that Skylock's been through this before and is trying to hide a smile. "Doors locked, windows barred, no skylights or basement entrance. It's as fortified as an army base."                                          "Already broken into one of those." Skylock says  with a wistful smile.                                    "Seriously?" I reply                                                                                                   "Sure, it was easier than you'd expect. I only had to-"                                                    "Dawnstreak! Zandi- I mean Skylock!" Will interrupts.  "There's a girl kidnapped by a mad scientist! You can talk about how many crominals you've caught and how you did it later."           We both sigh and turn away.  "Alright." Will says, relieved. "Let's go find Dr. Jekell."

That seriously was scary. But I did it!!!!! (Imaginary double-fives to me)                               But I don't want to ruin this story, so please tell me what you think. Also,  Brookiera might have posted before me, so if she has a different plot line, we're going with hers. This was just a quick idea of mine.  PLEASE POST!!!! (

Will~

Will massaged her temples as she ran through the city, Skylock and Dawnstreak in tow.

Dawnstreak seemed a tad newer to the business, but nonetheless experienced. Will felt a deep sense of recklessness; what if Dawnstreak was a plant, sent here by the scientists to lure them into a trap?

Oh well. Will had telekinesis now.

They ran along the tops of buildings, coughing in the smoke. The abandoned lab drew near.

Will drew a lockpick. The three ran to the back door.

A scream came from inside.

High five, Starbringer! That was a really clever way to get Dawnstreak into the story! Great! Can Zandi's power be shape-shifting, or is that too OP? And, yes, whoever posted that last "POST PEOPLE", I shall now post.

Zandibar~

A scream comes from inside the laboratory. I glance sideways at this new girl, Dawnstreak.

"Are you sure this place is abandoned?" I ask rhetoricly. I already know the answer.

"Obviously not, Einstein. Come on, she's got the door open," Dawnstreak replies. I follow her and Will into the building. I make sure Dawnstreak is between Will and I, so she can't try anything. I am slower to trust than Will, and this girl strikes me as suspicious. Right when the trail went cold and we thought we'd lost Gem and her captor, a random 'superhero' shows up and somehow knows exactly where they most likely went. Coincidence?

Call it a hunch, but there is probably more to this girl than a random helpful superhero with incredibly good timing. She might work for the people who took Gem.

Another scream breaks into my thoughts and I hurry after Will and Dawnstreak. I push my distrustful thoughts to the back of my mind. Not to much I can do about it now. I'll just worry myself. We follow the screams through the dark, dingey corridors. The only light comes from the moon, filtered through grimy windows high above, so that just weak, silvery rays shine through. I shiver. This place gives me the creeps. The screaming aside, there is something about this place... something... familiar about it that scares me. I feel like something horrible happened here. Is this what they call deja vu? It's a weird sensation, like something niggling at the base of my neck, at the back of my mind.

"This place is scary, Will," I barely whisper.

"You feel it too, Zan?" she murmurs back.

"I don't like this place. Let's just get Gem and go. I don't want to stay here." I rub my arms. Why am I so cold all of the sudden? We hear another shriek and walk more quickly, though still quietly. We turn the corner and see harsh electric lights streaming out from a crack underneath a door. I peek into the keyhole and see the backs of a nearly bald man and a tall woman with shineing dark hair pulled into a severe bun. Both are in white labcoats and are standing in front of a table, keeping it from my sight. The bald man moves slightly to the left, and I can see the table. It has a very familiar figure strapped to it. She opens her mouth and I hear that terrible, terrible scream again, full of pain and terror. It's Gem.

I pull back from the door and turn to Will and Dawnstreak.

"It's Gem. Gem's inside," I say breathlessly, "with two scientists."

The two sceintists cirle around me. "So," Says the older, male scientist. "You know you are an experiment. You must know what you can do," I blink and shake my head, afraid to speak. "Come on, this is  waste of time, let's just get it out of her!"The female says. she presses down a button and electricity shocks my wiith such force that I scream. "All you have to do swetie is tell us." Don't they know that I can't? I seriouly don't know! I spy a movement in the corner. Skylock! I have to distract the scientists. I scream again. What else can I do?

Can someone please find a way to get Rex and Saana into this please? We're both kind of injured and trapped in a room so... not much we can do without feeling OP. Yeah. Thank you.
