Robots vs. Magicians

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Robots vs. Magicians

Robots vs. Magicians RP!

Sam: What?? You nuts? You can't run two RPs at once!

Well, I happen to be so darn bossy that my bossiness overflows and therefor can run two RPs at the sam time. Plus, RPs are just generally fun, and they take my mind off of school projects and give me something to look forward to at the end of some of my longer days. So, without further ado, the plot!

Everyone has mixed veiws on the magicians in their midst. Some say that they are "freaks" because of their talents, while others argue that they are humans, special abilities or not. But the magician world is currently in chaos because of some rising Shadow Spreaders that use their powers for evil. Meanwhile, the human and magical worlds face a big problem: robots. Developed in secret laboratories, these complex robots are taking over the world—one step at a time. Young apprentice robot-makers are having struggles of their own as well. Clearly, there are two basic teams: Robots vs. Magicians, with humans caught in the midst. But which side is good and which is bad? Both have struggles, pros, and cons. So now we come to the biggest question: which side will win?

Kira~

I feel tremors in the ground of the city, slowly moving towards them.

A girl stands with a knife, next to a boy. Hello? I sign.

I gather a ball of light and hold it out in front of me. "Stay away," I say, trying to keep the tremor out of my voice. "Stay away." My hands are shaking. Lunar glares at me.

"The night is our turf, you're the one who should be staying away. Besides, the moonlight's not harmful," A wicked grin spread across her face. "It reveals our true character, you should try it." I shake my head. How could I have been so stupid! I stare at the two shadow spreaders, on high alert for any sudden movement. Suddenly, a blow comes from behind me, knocking me down. I cry out. "Nice work Isobel." I hear Lunar say. My arms are pinned down to my sides and my shine dust is taken. They remove my hood and I stare into the Ice Queen's mericiless eyes. "Lai Endony, you will never again see the sun." My hands are clammy and I again focus on a lamp nearby. The flame grows bigger.

Luis~

"Hi, Trissi," I say. "Would you like to--"

I pause as a flash of color ignites in my peripheral vision. I turn-- it's Water Girl! Totally Water Girl. Her eyes are a sea green, her long hair blond. She has the air of a magician; you learn to pick that up, after spending time with them.

She signs something. I sign back, H-I. A-R-E Y-O-U T-H-E M-A-G-I-C-I-A-N T-H-A-T C-O-N-T-R-O-L-S W-A-T-E-R?

"What are you doing?" whispers Trissi behind me.

"Oh please. Can't you see I'm busy?"

___

P.S.: Clode says "hour." Fitting considering Luis's power!

Sashenka (aka North Wind)~

I watch three of the most notorious Shadow Spreaders surround and pin down a girl, who I believe is known as Sunrise... Shame I can't remember what her true name is. Anyways, the only reason I haven't been seen is because I'm currently in the form of an owl. Not too uncommon for the dead of night. I am surprised they haven't sensed the aura of another magician nearby, but I'm not going to complain.

Back to the task at hand. I was supposed to pass a message to Sunrise, but now it seems I can't do that. In the world of the Dawn Granters, I'm known as a messenger. I am perfectly capable of fighting, but my biggest contribution to the cause is acting as a meesenger for any Dawn Granter that needs my service.I pass messages discretely between members of the cause. Unfortunately, I've never truly been able to become close to any of the people I pass messages for. They come to me in some of the funniest ways. Sometimes, by human "email", with the name of the person its from, who its meant for, and where to find them. I'd been tailing Sunrise for a few minutes, and was about to pass on the message, until the arrogant Shadow Spreaders showed up. I contemplated helping Sunrise, but a gut feeling told me that I would be of more use to the Dawn Granters if I could still carry messages for them, without the Shadow Spreaders knowing I exist. With a low hoot, I take off from my perch and wing off into the night.

Later~

As I'm preparing to sleep, now back in human form, I see the same message meant for Sunrise again. This time, the location to look for her at is different. I sigh. If I get multiple prompts to send the same thing to the same person, it's usually urgent. With a groan, I get out of my soft, warm bed and pull on the clothes I typically use for Magician business. I walk out onto my balcony and stand there for a moment, subtly checking my surroundings. As soon as the coast is clear, I shift. This time, I become a night lark. Wanting to just get the job done quickly, I take off into the night.

I reach the location just as a man is leaving. It's too dark for me to make out his features, but he has an air of importance about him that makes me not want to mess with him. I land on a window sill, and watch for a moment as Sunrise stands at the door, looking intensely relieved. When she turns to leave the room, I tap on the window, still in bird form. She looks over in surprise. I tilt my head to show my signature symbol, a feather being ruffled by the wind. In return, she flashes her symbol, a _______. Now knowing that we're both safe, she crosses the room and opens the window. As soon as I'm in, I shift back into human state.

"Hello, Sunrise. I'm North Wind, at your service. I have a message for you from _______(anyone can be the sender of the message). "

"H-hi! Um... Okay. What's the message?"

I recite the message, we exchange goodbyes, and I wing off into the night. This time as a bat.

_______________________-

Alright, so whoever decides to be the sender of the message, you or Lai can decide what it says and whether you send a reply. Hopefully, this is okay with everyone! :)

I'm confuzzled as to where everyone is. Airi seem to be everywhere at once...right now she, Kyla, and Isobel are the top of a building at approx. midnight breaking through the mental defenses of the leader of the Dawn Granters (Quarrel Soul?) using Airi's power. The following post is more metaphorical than literal :)

Airi~

"Prepare your minds," I warn Kyla and Isobel before closing my eyes and mentally becoming one with the moonlight's flowing energy. Focusing all my concentration on one mind, I push forward, breaking through his mental defences until I come to a black wall. Several times, I have tried to penetrate this wall in the heat of revenge and anger, but now I am cool and controlled. I know I can make it past this time. The wall is dark and shadowy. I slide past it, searching for a chink. There! A tiny peice of light; too small to fit through.

"Now!" I say to Kyla and Isobel as loudly as I can without breaking focus. I can feel something give way in the strange, shadowy land of moonlight power as my assistants open their minds to me. The moonlight feeds me, allowing me to reach into their minds and channel their energy in two white beams of light. Again focusing on the chink in Quarrel's armor, I combine my mental energy withe the white beams from Kyla and Isobel. The chink grows wider. Breaking into peices, a chunk of the wall shatters inwards, allowing the moonlight too flow through. You are mine now... Drawing my consciousness out from Quarrel's, I open my eyes to look at my exhausted Shadow Spreaders.

"It is done," I whisper. In the building below, a mind is now in the power of Lunar Eclipse.

So Kira, Luis, and Tissi are all together now? Okay! I'll make Liessa meet up with them... sometime. About her 'healing powers', she's not so good at them (she'll develop them later), but something she's pretty good at is warming herself when it's cold, or vise versa. She does it a lot.

~Liessa

The chilly, night air surrounds me, and I close my eyes, tapping into my powers that I inherited from my mother. Soon, I don't feel the cold anymore. I spread my too-big cloak down on the ground, and curl up on it, looking up at the moon.

The light spills over the empty streets. From my small, hidden alley, I look over toward the magicians' homes. There's an owl flying in the sky, hooting. I look at it, following it in it's path around the sky. That's how I noticed the people on the roof of a taller building.

One of looking up at the moon, her hair flying back behind her. She looked confident, sure of herself. There was another girl beside her, turned toward her. I watched them, confused. What were they doing?

I suddenly gasped, as the moonlight began to twist toward her, almost illuminating her... then it was gone, and the two figures retreated off of the roof.

~~~
I opened my eyes, the sunlight spilling into them. I stretched, and sprang up, folding my cloak and putting it in my satchel. I walked on the side of the street, my boots making rhythmetic sounds on the cobblestones.
I ducked into an alley as some magicians came running through the sidewalk, panicked expressions on their faces.
"What happened?" Someone asked, and one magician gasped out a reply.
"The leader... of the Dawn Granters- He- Yesterday night- The Shadow Spreaders!"
My eyes widened at the name. Shadow Spreaders. I pushed that long-ago night out of my thoughts, and stepped to follow him, when some scuffling and some whispers behind me caught my attention.
I turned around quickly, narrowing my eyes at the shadows at the back of the alley, "Come out."
After a while, three girls emerged, looking at me as warily as I was looking at them.
One of them made a movement with her hands, and another said, "She's saying Hello."
I nodded. Sign language. I'd heard of it, but never learned it. Father had known it. He'd used it before, but to me, his hands had just looked like flittering birds, flying about.
I nodded to the girl, "Hello," and, after a pause, "Who are you?"
The looked at each other cautiously, then one spoke up, "I'm Trissi, magician. Although I'm not a Dawn Granter, I'm working against the Shadow Spreaders."
Another said, "Luis, Dawn Granter" and gestured to the other girl with her hands. She turned to me, "This is Kira. She's a deaf magician."
I nodded, and realized that they were waiting for me, "I'm Liessa."
"Magician?"
I hesitated, not wanting to reveal my true identity. After all, it was against the law, "Yes. Magician, but not very good at it."
They nodded, buying it, and I let out a breath of relief. I'd promised Mother not to get captured by the law, to not reveal to anyone my true identity. I thought of her last words to me.
Please, Liessa, live for us. Survive, don't get captured, and don't tell anyone who your parents were. Promise me that, girlie, promise me.
And she had promised.
I'm still working over that message. We have not forgotten. It said exactly that. We have not forgotten. We know your orgins, we will be watching. Suddenly, it hits me, and I give out an anguished wail. No, they can't. I've gone through the training, I've graduated! They can't be thinking of putting me on prohibation!  It's not my fault that... I almost can't think it, but I know it's true. My parents are Shadow Spreaders, and there's nothing that can block the truth. Karen, my mom and Caleb, my dad, taught me almost everything I know, were thebest spell ingredients grow, how to shield yourself from spells(expert with that), how to let your inner soul take over. They had such high expectations and were so warm and comforting, it was hard to belive that they weren't Dawn Granters. But the moment I saw the meeting of Shadow Spreaders in our house, The moment the Dawn Granters knocked down the door, the moment I saw the light and warmth of the fire, I knew I had to leave.
I hope I can still join! If there's too many people, disregard this sheet.
Name: Finn
Age: 16
Personality: Very, very intelligent. His mind always seems to be running on two tracks at once, and sometimes he can get caught up in his thoughts. He is often teased by his fellow apprentices for being spaced out. Despite this, he is very kind hearted, and will fight hard to defend what he believes in.
Appearance: Spiked, blonde hair, bright green eyes. Rather tall. Usually wearing metal battle armor, for his weapons testing, otherwise he wears t-shirts and jeans.
Human, Apprentice (robot team), or Magician?: Apprentice.
If Apprentice, what technologal talents?: His specialty is weapons, especially hand to hand weapons. He develops blasters, but his main love is to work on special, lightweight swords that can cut through steel, and to find ways to incorporate blades into androids and battle armor.
Friends/accomplices: None, yet, but it would be really cool if he could fall in love with a Dawn Bringer.
Other: Secretly believes in the magician's cause, loves all things magical. Is currently working on a bunch of special swords infused with magic (He found some magical items) but, of course, is keeping it a secret.
I have an idea for how he might fall in love with Sasha, if you like. Since Sashenka is like the messenger of the Dawn Granters, maybe he could be at a location where a magician should have been, and she almost gives the message to him. This results in conversation, etc. etc. And a forbidden love is born.
Yay yay yay! Now things are rolling!
Airi~
The street is crowded with sleepy drivers gripping coffee mugs as they prepare for another day ahead. To them, all that matters are their jobs, their families, their money. As a magician, I struggle with so much more. And as a Shadow Spreader, it sometimes feels like the whole world is against me. Watching the progress of the rising sun, I flip through a human newspaper in order to look normal and inconspicuous. I ball up an article on the hazards of magicians and throw it out into the stree. Skimming through the next article, my mind whirring with other business, I almost miss the words: "haywire robots." Robots? Robots have been popping up all over the place as of now; taking over machines, participating in experiments, and even acting as humans in some events. Perhaps they would make good allies...or enemies. Before I have time to ponder the rest of the news, a low hum from my bag distracts me. Grasping my S-tablet, I trace the runes on the screen with my finger to unlock it. Instantly, ice spreads across the screen as a video-call pops up. Ice Queen!
"We've been discovered," she announces, "the Dawn Granters are onto us."
"What? I was supposed to have mental control over Quarrel until we could move into the next step of our plan," I reply, feeling the heat rise to my cheeks as I grow frusterated.
"Something he said or did must have tipped them off. Or else someone watched us..." Kyla suggests. "What do we do now?"
"Plan B," I proclaim. Without waiting to see her answer, I lock the S-tablet and shove it into my bag as hard as possible. A crack spreads across the gilded silver surface. Standing abrubtly, I scan the street again with a sudden hatred. Cool and confident, I remind myself, taking a deep breath, with patience I will have my revenge.
Kyla (aka Ice Queen)~
I winced as I felt the waves of anger coming off of Lunar Eclipse, even through the screen.
"Plan B," She hissed, and the connection was cut. I sighed deeply and went outside to gather my strength.
I'd need it for that night.
Jess (aka Sunbeam?)~
I watched Quarrel closely. Something was off. Thank goodness I had contacted Lai beforehand so she knew where I was. I pulled out my phone and started a video call with her.
The phone rang.
And rang.
And rang.
Finally, Lai picked up after ten rings. "What?" She said, kind  of snappishly. She was leaning against a tree, and her eyes looked red rimmed, like she had been crying, but that could have just been the crummy connection.
"Quarreling twins never end well. Mom's step in," I said our codephrase. Her eyes widened.
"I'll be there in five. WhaT is it?" The screen started to move whilst still stayed focused on Lai as she got up.
"Mental control. Eclipse?"
"Most likely. Their gang seemed to be up to something last night."
I sighed. "With Ice Queen and (I forgot Isobel code name)'s mental strength combined with hers, Lunar Eclipse is unstoppable!"
"No, she isn't. We can do this. If I know them, they're planning to attack again tonight. We can prepare," Lai said confidently. "Sunrise out."
"Sunbeam out." The screen faded to black and I prayed to the stars that Lai was right.
~Lai(aka Sunrise)
I step out into the crisp morning air. I'm heading to the other side of town, where civilazation meets wilderness, the best place to gather ingredients. I just want to forget about everything, be somewhere where no one can find me. I start off, pulling on a jacket instead of a cloak, but nonetheless, hiding my face. The heart of the city is mostly robots, and humans here pretty much hate magicians. Finally, I reach the edge of the forset. I gaze into the sunlit shadows and mist that would seem forbidding to most Dawn Granters. All but me. No one is out right now, so I don my cloak, fingering the soft fabric. With a small light orb guiding me, I fill my bag with glowrooms, shimmer moss, and gleam petal. When at last my bag is filled, I find that I don't want to leave. I sigh and lean on a moss covered tree.
-FLASHBACK-
"Come on Lai!" My dad laughs his deep laugh and my mom echos is her tinkling version. My first outing to the woods. "We'll show you where the best gleam petals are!" I laugh with them and hurry to catch up. I was five at the time. "Will you let me make a poition when I get home?" my mom smiles, looking over at my dad. "Well, you may need some help darling." I shake my head stubbornly. "No, I'm a big girl now, I can do it all by myself. Daddy does it all the time by himself." They grin and take me my the hand. Sonn we come to a glistening waterfall, seemimgly silver. "Magic!" I cry out. Soon it's time to go home, and I find myself asking,"Can we go again tommorow?"
I wake up, who knows how long I've been asleep. I brush away a few tears, glance around me, and then stare. The waterfall is right infront of me.
