Robots vs. Magicians

Robots vs. Magicians

Robots vs. Magicians RP!

Sam: What?? You nuts? You can't run two RPs at once!

Well, I happen to be so darn bossy that my bossiness overflows and therefor can run two RPs at the sam time. Plus, RPs are just generally fun, and they take my mind off of school projects and give me something to look forward to at the end of some of my longer days. So, without further ado, the plot!

Everyone has mixed veiws on the magicians in their midst. Some say that they are "freaks" because of their talents, while others argue that they are humans, special abilities or not. But the magician world is currently in chaos because of some rising Shadow Spreaders that use their powers for evil. Meanwhile, the human and magical worlds face a big problem: robots. Developed in secret laboratories, these complex robots are taking over the world—one step at a time. Young apprentice robot-makers are having struggles of their own as well. Clearly, there are two basic teams: Robots vs. Magicians, with humans caught in the midst. But which side is good and which is bad? Both have struggles, pros, and cons. So now we come to the biggest question: which side will win?

I stare at the picture. She's definitely an Endony. She's got Caleb's eyes, Karen's smile, everything about her reminds me of them.

Airi~

Still smiling that good-natured grin, Dakota leaps at the first of the large, more clumsy robots, but this one anticipates his attack and smashes him aside with a fist the size of the nearby apartment windows. The second robot comes after me and I can't help longingly staring at the sky, wishing it were night. But I am not completely without defence. Throwing down my satchel, I reach into the folds of my sash and draw out a dagger with a sharp, thin blade; almost like a claw. When the robot swings its hand down to grab at me, I leap upwards and slash across its wrist, hoping that the metal-on-metal would have some effect. Landing hard on my feet, I look up to see the damage my experimental slash did. Not bad...a shallow cut, but at least the sentry isn't invincible. Next to me, Dakota is fighting to reach the control pannel on the other robot. They weave around the over-turned chairs and tables outside of the coffee shop. Dakota... who designed him? Why does he have such a perfect resemblance to... The robot's glinting silver arm descends again and I prepare to slice the dagger upwards; hoping for a deeper cut, but his fingers, the biggest the size of my arm, are around me too quickly for me to act. Pressing...squeezing...its grip leaves me powerless; at least during the day. Suddenly, the robot stops squeezing. Its eyes grow dim. Emmiting a slight, metalic sounding grunt, it opens its fist and drops me to the ground.

"Dakota?" I question. He holds his hands up.

"Can't you see I did nothing?"

"Why were they targeting me?"

"I don't know, but I can take you to someone who does," Dakota offers.

"Lead the way," I command, "but first...I need to ask you something."

"Ask away," Dakato replies, clearly puzzled with my hesitation.

"Who designed you?"

St., do you see where I'm going-ish? Basically, Airi fell in love (I know, she's young; it wasn't that serious) with someone and then something happened to make her quit highschool before she graduated (still figuring this one out) and she started her new life as a Shadow Spreader. But what if he is secretly behind some of these robot mishaps, as well as other things?

Ideas flash before my mind, and before you can say 'aprentice', my mind is made up. I change the coding on my robots, which have thankfully not been ruined. After contemplating a few methods, I drag my mouse to the start button.

~Lai

The meeting with Sunbeam isn't clearing up any of my questions, but perhaps that's was because my questions were not on the subject. Focus Lai! I chide myself for the tenth time. When the meeting is over, I breath a sigh of relief. Sprinting back home, I turn off all the lights. I need sometime to think. My lantern provides a steady glow, giving me just enough light to look in the mirror. As I stare at my reflection, a lound clang sounds just outside my door. My door bursts open. I whirl around, invading my home for no apparent reason at all, are two robots. "Target identified."

Yeah, Rose bud, I get it. I'll leave the details vague so you can fill in the blanks though, 'cause if you've got someone specific in mind I don't want to mess it up or anything.

Dakota~

"Who designed you?" she asks.

I blink in surprise. I am not an expert on humans; I do not understand their thought processess, nor will I ever. However, I believe that inquiring on my creator would be something they would consider "rude." I suppose this woman really is extraordinary.

"I am unclear on the details," I admit. "My designer was not the person who I opened my eyes to; in fact, I am not certain if I ever met him. I know my designer was male and his first name was Regulus. But I was experimented on and tested by other scientists. The designer often only draws up the blueprints and oversees construction; he does not commonly also train his creation."

I am not sure my response was adaquate, but it seems to have given her something to ponder. "You know somebody who can tell you why someone is targeting me?" she prompts.

"Yes," I reply. "I have not been in contact with her for a year, but I am certain she will remember me. Jess Moraine was in charge of my education on sciences and she has connections with many people. I believe she will be able to find you an answer."

I hope you don't mind this, Inktail!

No problem! ;)

Kyla (Ice Queen)~

My phone rings, light spreading across the screen. Lunar? I pick it up and answer. "Hello?" The picture never stopped moving. Lunar was obviously running around.

"Get over here-NOW!" She hissed-and the call was cut. I groaned and punched in her coordinates. Oh boy.

Jess (Sunbeam)~

The meeting with Lai was rather awkward, and we didn't get much confirmed. But oh well. As I headed back to my house, I noticed two figures standing outside of it. They looked...clunky. Oh no. I took out my phone and opened a Magnifier. Yep.

Robots.

Then something crashed into me, and I fell to the ground. I was aware of a body, tangled with mine. I stood up, quickly unlacing myself from the limbs. Looking at the figure, I realized it was Kyla.

"Kyla!" I hissed.

Kyla stood up slowly, grinning cruely. "I'm not Kyla anymore, sweetie." The water in my pond over froze, and the ice crept steadily on the ground towards me.

I backed up slightly, and bumped into Kyla, who lifted my chin with a single finger, forcing me to look her in the eyes. We watched each other for a moment, before Kyla whispered once more.

"The name..is Ice Queen." She let go of my head and waved her hand. The Ice reached my toes and quickly spread up my body, sucking out the heat. I grabbed my phone and began to call Lai, as Kyla swept of into the night, laughing like a maniac. My finger pressed call just as the frost reached my fingers. It tingled, like magic, and it felt like my body was missing. The call went through immediately.

"Jess? What's wrong?" Lai!

"Lai, HELP-" My words were cut off as the freeze reached my head. I was completely frozen. I felt my heart rate slow, and my eyes felt heavy.

"I'm coming, Jess! Stay put!" Lai's voice eminated from the  phone on the ground.

'Good one,' I thought. My breath came few and far between, and I felt my legs lock with a jolt. My arm popped softly, and I watched the two robots leave my house. I felt my heart rate slow to nearly nothing, and I could barely breathe. As I lost conciousness, my last thought was, "If Lai doesn't get over here now...."

But I never got to finish that thought.

So Jess isn't actually supposed to die...Lai, get over here! ;)

And btw, Rose bud, you should probably be on your way to find me by now, huh?

I gasp. What in the- But before I have time to blink, the two robots charge. I fumble with the window latch, but I am out in no time. I run, my cloak flapping in the wind. A young man and cloaked girl stare as I rush past. Of corse, not every day you see a young Dawn Granter being chased by two robots. Suddenly, there is loud clanking sound. I look back, and can't belive my eyes, the young man is on top of the robot! The girl rushes to his aid, but there is still one robot chasing me. I draw a bit of shine dust from my pouch and quickly morph it into a shining bow and arrow. My aim is a little of, but I quickly learn the robot's weak points. soon, both robots are destroyed. I look up at my rescuers. "Thanks," I say kind of awkwardly. "It's no problem." the man says. And then I see the girl's face. Lunar Eclipse. I draw in a sharp breath. And I start running again.

~Chrissy

I bang down on the keyboard with growing frustration. I'm going to have to make the robots all over again. And those were some of my best sentenials!!! UH! That Lai Endony! I'll get her if it's the last thing I do.

Er... what is Lai's history with Lunar so that I get it right? Should it be like "hey evil buddy" or "die life-long enemy?" I'm thinking more of the second.

Lunar Eclipse~

Lai. It's Lai, and she recognized me even though I'm not in my Shadow Spreader uniform, which means that sooner or later, she'll figure out that there is a connection between Lunar and Airi. Why does my life have to tumble down around my ears in less than 3 hours? She knows who I am. I can't let her go! Although she's clearly a faster runner than I, she can still be outsmarted. On my hand is a small ring with a glowing moon symbol embeded on it. Focusing all my mental energy (which can be dangerous since I don't have the moon to sustain me), I activate the emergancy moonlight energy stored in the ring and reach out to Lai Endony's mind. I must stop her! I must...I must... I force myself into her mind and into the shadowy black of her defenses. Feeling the light energy fading, I try to work fast; pushing through the filmy black curtains of her mind and shoot beams of moonlight into her mind so that her memories will be confused. I can feel the extra energy draining, but there are only a few more memories. Usually, I wouldn't go to such extremeties, but after all, it is Lai. Suddenly, the light around me darkens and the energy gives way. I must get out of her head! With the last of my strength, I push my mental self back into my body; completely exhausted. My knees give way and the room starts to spin. Breathe, I tell myself as Dakota's heavy footsteps come up behind me. Trying to clear my head so that I can focus on sustaining myself, I can't get rid of one nagging thought: I didn't finish the job.

Kyla (Ice Queen)~

I panted as I ran away from Sunbeam's frozen state. I felt a serious tugging at the mind of Lunar Eclipse. What was she doing? We didn't have the moon out yet! Suddenly, her mind cut away altogether. I groaned, focusing some of my mental energy onto the force of life I knew was her. I felt her mind grow stronger. Satisfied, I continued following my GPS.

Aaaannnnddd. Done. I slowly press the control pad. The robot in front of me sparks, but nothing else happens. I frown. What happened this time? I press a few more things, then try to activate it again. This time, its arm twitches and its light-absorbing filters flicker on. I hold my breath. The lights instantly blink out. Seriously? I huff. I try holding the button down harder, and when that doesn't work, pressing it repeatedly. The figure in front of me remains lifeless. I glare at it, but, as expected, it doesn't do anything. I huff again and sit down innto the comfy swivel chair behind me in frustration. Everything's wired and placed. What could have possible gone wrong? Oh well, I guess I'll have to start all over again. I glare again at the recently categorized pile of junk, and for good measure, kick the kilo-volt battery it's hooked up to. Instantly, its lights flash back on, and with a slight squeak, it jerks its head towards me, humming expectantly. Oh, of course. I forgot to connect the battery wires. Of all the dum mistakes to make... I realize that it's still waiting for an order. "Oh.." The robot cocks his head in confusion. I clear my throat.

"I mean activate sequence joint support test #1." I wince at the awkward sounding name. Speaking of names... I look at the robot.

"Test Robot Number 5?" I say. "You will now respond to the name... um,let's see..." His electronic motor purrs softly. An almost enjoyable sound. "Buzz." I finally say. "You will respond to Buzz." The robot nods stiffly and seems to be smiling. I smile too.

"Alright. You can shut down now. Buzz's eyes flicker off and his figure sags as the power drains from the motor. The humming cuts off. I walk out the room, still smiling at this final success. Too late I realize I didn't even find out if he could walk. Oh well.
