Just for fun...

Just for fun... Anyone want to rewrite Twilight? Get rid of all the purple prose, horrendous morals, and poorly developed characters? We'd still stick to the same basic plot, obviously, but we could get rid of the sparkles!

Anyone want to give it a shot? Not a parody mind, but a serious rewrite?

Well, TNO's ideas are the best for the vampires, but whatabout Bella/Iz?  I think that's a good idea, Phoenix.  Bella/Iz actually likes Jake, or Mike, or someone other than Ed, and maybe . . . could Ed be evil?  Then he could put Bella/Iz in a trance and then everyone (Jess, Jake, Mike, Eric, and co.) would all be like "Whut?", because Ed isn't the cool/handsome/girls-drool-on-his-socks-type.  Then, ta da, copy and paste, "THEY (Jessica, Mike, Eric, Jacob, whatever) figure out that Ed's a vampire, and, dunno, save her, and she's GRATEFUL for once . . . ?! "

Or, Ed could still be handsome, cool, drool-on-socks guy, but have flaws, like he has morbid habits, or he drinks, or something.  And Bella/Iz falls for him, and her friends are disgusted/hurt.  And also, Mary W., my idea for her to be a veggie is just an example.  I see that there are to many *coughcoughcough* "vegetarians" already.  I just mean she should have a dream or passion for something--I dunno, she's very interested in astronomy and wants to work for NASA, or she loves to write (HAHAHA), or she loves art and wants to become an artist, or an actress, or loves music, something.  Just so she doesn't shrug at everything and say "whatever."  She's a boring, hollow, dimensionless character in the book. :)
That's my idea.  TNO's idea is probably the best, though.  What say you? :)

Sorry, I couldn't help cracking up. Bella? Astronomy? WRITING? WHUT?

But yes, I could see Izzy- NOT Bella, though- being into astronomy... which would also mean that she'd be out a lot at night, so she might see Edward going out doing whatever he does at night ("vegetarianism," or smoking or whatever)... *thinks*

Maybe Carlisle is a "good guy," and, since I like TNO's logic, living on only animal blood is less nutritious than human blood (therefore the Culllens are weaker, not the superdudes that they are in the books--that's only normal 'pires--but anyway), Carlisle is trying to find a supplement that will allow them to get all their required nutrients without eating humans.  I dunno--maybe he can actually FIND the thing, and it's a nearly extinct wild orchid from South America!

*silence*

*bursts into fits of giggles*  Okay, that's pretty silly, but it's just an example. :)  What are your ideas?

Trolling is, put simply, talking about something on a thread that you're not supposed to (form of Internet harassment). I think the above post counts because this is "not a parody, mind, but a serious rewrite" and it's being used as a mock thread. Sooo... *apologies*

Not an awfully big deal, though, because you didn't know. :)

Nah. It's within the topic of the thread--wandering a bit, admittedly, but still well within the limits of normal posting. Trolling would be if she posted something not related at all to Twilight on this thread.

Point being, conversation wandering isn't trolling, it's people being ADD and, well, normal. :)
