The Ultimate CB Collaborative Story!
So, I had this idea. It will take a lot of a lot effort, commitment, diligence, and time, but I know we can do it. Are you ready for this?
We are going to write and publish a novel!
That's write. ;-) XD hehehe...
Okay! So here is what we are going to do! There will be, ah, say, five writers counting myself? And maybe that many artists, as well (I'm gonna be the head of both). The writers will discuss plots and characters and such, and the artists will decide where to put the illustrations and then do them, and such. As the lead author/artist I'll 'approve' ideas, but I'm not gonna be strict about them or anything, don't get me wrong, I'm open to new ideas! And I'd also like to do the cover art, but the artists can help me figure out what that'll look like. I'll list author and artist jobs in more detail below.
So, as for the story. I know I want it to be fantasy, but that's really all I know. You guys help me figure this out, basic plot wise, and then here's what we'll do. We will take turns writing the chapters, but let's do it from third person and try to keep the same writing style. I want you guys to be able to post often, and if you can't, just don't sign up, because we need real commitment here. If a CBer doesn't post on their turn for more than five days, a spot for someone else who didn't get in will be open, so they'll write it for them. Said CB'er will be 'fired' per say, if they don't show on this thread for over two weeks without notice (I'll try my best to get ahold of you first, though, and alert you).
Same goes for artists. They'll discuss with me covers, illustrations, chapter headings, and the like, and we'll take turns illustrating. If they don't take their turn, same thing goes for them as for the writers.
Now, this isn't an RP, this isn't a Round Robin, it's much more complicated than that. Let's really work on this, guys. Really try. Keep it alive. It's gonna take time, okay? So we'll need it active and topped. Again, real commitment! Write, and take time on it! Punctuate! Don't misspell! Use proper grammar!

Plot ideas: Nothing off the top of my head. I tend to work spontaneously.

How Often Will you be able to Post? I can post a little during the week, but I can only do big long posts over the weekends, or over break (like now :)
Plot Ideas: I'll see what other people have and build onto that. I'm good at turning things into a story.
Best at: Plot ideas, character developement, random flashes of inspiration. I love getting into my charrie's heads and learning everything about them.

Predicted Post Frequency: It depends on how often chapters are posted and the length of each. I will usually be finished a couple days after, a day at the soonest, four at the latest.
Plot Ideas: I usually read and write in the fantasy genre. I think that we need an original concept that nobody's ever heard of. That means no generic animals like dragons and unicorns. Maybe we could create a new world. Maybe we could create a flat world.
Strengths: Depends on the criteria. I'm good at a lot of things. Drawing living things, creative writing, descriptions, catching spelling and punctuation errors, revising paragraphs, etc.
Writing/Art Sample: Do you really need this? Here's a picture of a cat I drew recently.

How Often Will you be able to Post?: It really depends. I can post at least once or twice a week, I think, if this is a large project.
Plot Ideas: I would love to do a sort of Harry Potter-esque universe, in which magical beings live secretly alongside normal ones.
Best At: I suppose that I am good at nonfiction essays (heehee) and I adore editting them. I also love to write short, metaphorical pieces that draw on nature, and can compose poetry as well.
Writing/Art Sample: I don't have one at the ready.

I had a spark of inspiration. A spark that I think, with the right amount of effort, could be turned into a flame, and that flame into a fire. What if we build around this:
There is a species, supposed by all inhabiting our fantasy world (which reminds me, I need a world builder as well, because I forgot to put it on the original listing of positions) to have died out long ago. A species of mystical woodland creatures who blend with the shadows and are shy of all other animals and people. They have a hazy blue glow emanating from them, and they don't hunt each other. They lived in peace and harmony together, in a small kingdom all their own. They were seen from time to time among other places, forests, or around streams. They were supposed to be extinct years ago, but they were chased from their dominion into hiding by some evil force. Somehow, maybe by an old book, maybe by seeing one such creature in person, our Mc(s) find out about how the creatures were chased into the darkest parts of the forest, scattered throughout the land. And maybe the species is now being hunted by... Something evil, and they must find a way to save them. What do you think?

Ack, I forgot to post the writing sample! Here it is! Just saying, I simply chose something random. It's not my best, I can do better, and I will do better for this project, I promise.

You wanted editor or layout designer, but they were both taken. Would author or artist be okay? Or you could be a backup editor. Or, if you really want to be an editor, I can squeeze you in.

I won't do much more plot building, because this is supposed to be collaborative, and I don't wanna be the 'boss' the whole time. So soon we'll work on that.
Btw, I took out the secondarys because I didn't want this to become a hierarchy. There really isn't a difference between secondary authors/artists and authors/artists.
