You live in

Chatterbox: Inkwell

You live in

You live in a land that is divided in two. The eastern side is a hot barren desert, where the temperature never dips below a sweltering 85 degrees Fahrenheit (except for during some nights, where it can drop to 70 or rarely 65, which is still very warm compared to most deserts at night). The people there have never seen snow, hail, sleet, or any rain that is harder than a quick five minute downpour or a light shower.

The western side is the exact opposite. Snow falls constantly, never seeming to end for about 3/4 of the year. This period of time is called "The Storm." The other 1/4 of the year is called "Summer," and it is the time when some snow melts, and the occasional blade of lush green grass dares to poke itself through the many layers of powder that blanket the soggy ground. The temperature during this season never rises to anything above 40 degrees Fahrenheit, but it is still a season of miracles to the western people. They have a huge festival at the start of the season, and another one when the first snow falls, and "Summer" is officially over. The people on the western side have never seen a perfectly clear blue sky, or seen more than a few inches of uncovered ground at one time.

One night, the two sides mysteriously switch. When people wake up, they are greeted with weather that they have never seen before, but only heard in legends that they assumed to be myths. A huge blizzard slams into the eastern side, and a heat wave turns the western side into an enormous puddle. No one knows how to live in their new environments, and something will have to be done that has never been done before. The two sides will have to work together. Only those who work together will survive this brutal swap.

Anyway, I hope you guys like my idea! Anyone can join, and there's a maximum of 2 charries per person. When I think enough people have joined, I will start, but if anyone wants to join right after we start, they still can. Our charries will be the people who team up with each other to help everyone survive in case you couldn't tell. Here's the charrie sheet, I'll post my charries soon. :

Name: Ivy Listelle

Age: 8 (almost 9)

Original side: Western

Appearance: Very light brown skin, dark brown hair that she'll wear in a braid, small, skinny, big brown eyes. She'll wear jackets, comfortable pants, and fur boots. Well, until the switch.

Personality: Really sweet, funny, and sometimes she'll try to interact with people older than her, but she doesn't always know what they're talking about.

Other: None that I can think of at the moment.

Oh and Snow is actually more popular as a boy's name (nickname, whatever) meaning "fair." Obviously, you can see where that nickname came from :)

So Snow is actually more common as a boy's name, not girl name, even though it kind of sounds like a girl's name. Just making that clear.

Another charrie! And I'm switiching Ivy to the Eastern side.

Name: Juniper Storm

Age: 14

Orignial side: Western

Appearance: Whispy, curly platinum blonde hair that goes down past her shoulders, pale skin, freckles everywhere, light turqoise eyes, always a smile on her face.

Personality: So, so curious. She thinks danger is curious, so she's never really scared. She thinks everything is strange, so she always wants to explore it. She's also very light and bubbly, and although sometimes people may not understand her, they still like to be around her.

Other: None.

I'm also going to make Aspen's little brother Evergreen for fun. In my imagination, their are three Izot kids: Aspen-Kallio (not Kallia, I spelled it wrong accedentally...oops...) Pine, and Evergreen. If someone wants to play the middle girl, Pine, that would be awesome!

Name: Evergreen Izot

Age: 11

Original side: Western

Appearance: He's a miniature version of his big brother except his hair is darker and eyes are lighter. Also, he is really small for his age.

Personality: With a dazzingly beautiful older sister and daring, charming older brother, people expect little Ever to be something special too. Nope. When it comes to people's expectations, he's still too short. He just doesn't have as many things going for him as his big siblings. However, Ever still manages to be talkative, mischievious, and generally positive. But he has a very quick temper that causes him to do things he is ashamed of later. The way he treats life, some of his more Aspen-like actions, and his apparent lack of much ambition might imply that he's not really into learning. What people usually don't see is that Ever is really smart. He reads all the time and carefully picks up information from around him. He has a very good memory and knows useful things. Also, he does have an ambition. He wants to be a doctor.

Other: Um...I think I put that all in personality :):):):):):)

Is this okay, Rose Bud?

Name: Pine Izot

Age: 13

Original side: Western

Appearance: She's shorter like everyone else in her family, she has blonde hair, darker turquoise eyes, pale skin, and freckles.

Personality: Being the middle child isn't the easiest. Sometimes you have to live up to one and the other has to live up to you. So you have to follow an example and be an example. But for some reason, Pine isn't always that way. Because she grew up in a family of boys, she'll be alone in her own world at times. She's infamous for climbing trees, and she can be found there often, reading or whatever. She'll hang out with Aspen, but she'll also hang out with Evergreen. Meaning, she'll climb on a roof with Aspen or read a book with Ever. Pine is known to be on the quieter side, and she's usually the tie breaker when the boys are arguing, or the one that separates them when they are fighting. She's a pretty peaceful and nice person, but she can be startled very easily. She's intelligent and loves roasted chestnuts.

Other: None that I can think of at the moment.

When can we start?

(March 11, 2017 - 4:11 pm)

Starting! (Start with your charrie at home before the swap)

Zara~

I wake up to dazzingly bright beams of sunlight shining through my small bedroom window. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I hop out of bed and pull on a loose red tunic. I walk into the kitchen and I'm greeted by the wonderful smell of breakfast cooking, and the sight of my younger siblings chasing each other around our small wooden table, which is just big enough for the four of us. We don't need five seats because on the rare nights when my father isn't off doing some kind of important work, he hangs out with his friends- who are all missing a few of their yellow teeth, and whose beady eyes and unshaven faces practically shout "Go away! We don't want you here!"- at The Old Sands Bar and Tavern on the very edge of our small oasis town.

My father left two years ago, on the day after my tenth birthday. He sent one letter a few days later saying he was doing some "important work" in a nearby oasis city and he wasn't sure when he'd be back. I hven't gotten more than a glimpse of him since the day he left, back when he wa a strong, handsome, funny, and caring man. I've been daydreaming about him coming home, joking and lauhing, apologizing for leaving us, and sweeping us all into a huge bear hug ever since the day I realized he wasn't coming back.

"Zara... Za-Za... ZARA EMILY GOLD!!!" My sister- who is a very over-dramatic person- shouts at the top of her lungs.

"Yeah, huh, what?" I mumble, startled.

"Your breakfast is ready." She informs me.

"Oh, okay. Thanks Anya." I reply.

I take my seat at the table, and my siblings and I scarf down our breakfasts. Somehow my mother makes even our bland eggs and dried fruit taste amazing day after day after day. After we've cleared the table, Anya and I head out across the vast expanse of hot, seemigly endles sand on our way to school. Our brother Caleb is still too young to go to scool, so he stays inside with Mama for most of the day when it is too hot to be outside. The trek to school is long and tiring, and the hot sun beats down on us the whole way. Just seconds after we step outside, our clothes and long hair are soaked with sweat. We are used to it though. This is what we have learned to expect in the desert.

Mikayla~

I wake up at sunrise, shivering in the frigid air that has crept through my large window. Huge gusts of wind slam frozen pellets of rain and snow into it, and the roaring wind rattles my entire house.

"Another blizzard." I grumble.

I quietly get out of bed and quickly throw on a few layers of sweaters, careful not to wake any of my siblings. I am the oldest of 6, so I am the one that gets up early in morning to help my father and the other men in town, along with some other children and teenagers, catch fish on the enormous Frozen Lake. I pull on a pair of thick socks and some fleecy pants, and then walk into the kitchen, where my father is heating up a pot of tea. Moments later, he pours it out and hands me a steaming mug of it.

"Good morning Mikayla." He greets me with a smile.

"Good morning Dad." I reply.

"Looks like we've got quite a blizzard out there." Dad says, staring out a window.

"Yeah, it's going to be cold, but we can handle it." I answer confidently.

"Of course we can." he says, smiling.

We eat a small breakfast of berries and salmon, and then after putting on a few layers of heavy fur lined coats, we head out into the cold. The snow falls on us cintantky, stinging our exposed skin, and our cheeks and noses feel like they will freeze off. At the lake the ice will as thick as a grown man, and we'll have to spend time drilling through it in the below zero temperatures. We are used to it though. This is what we've learned to expect in the winter.

My girl's name is Ottren.  She lived on the eastern side and is 14.  She has cropped black hair with red highlights and white streaks, which give her the look of an old person if you watch her from the back.  She loves to compete in anything, and is also incredible at changing to blend in to her environment.  She is bullied and likes to just hang out with her pet eagle, which no-one knows about.

BTW: Dragonrider, this is an incredible story idea and I can't wait to get started!  I just started Cricket today and already love it!
