Ben's dead. D; There's nothing left of Gabby's house now.

When we reach my den I tug Gabby through the screen of lichen and howl to my mother.

"Hello, honey." She says, pulling me into an embrace.

"Hi, Mom. This is my friend Gabby. Her house was destroyed in the fire and her brother was killed. I told her that she could hang out here for a while to recover."I say, putting my arm around her shoulders. "I hope that's ok with you."
"Yes of course sweetie. I'll go make us some tea." My mom leaves the room and goes off to the kitchen.

"Come on." I say to Gabby. "We can wait for the tea in my room." I escort her down the hall and into my bedroom. I plop down on the bed and gesture for her to sit beside me. She lays down next to me and starts to cry, sobs racking her body. I put my arms around her and wait for the sobs to subside. My mom arrives with the tea and Gabby sits up to drink it

"You make good tea." She murmers to my mother.

"Thank you. You can stay the night if you like, Gabby."

"Sure, I would like that."

Part3: Finding the Way

a couple of days later there was little evidence that the raid even existed. As it turned out, I wasn't the only one who's house got invade, basicly anyone who had some relationship with the government got raided. The chaos... was horrable. Some people- A hybrid named Ben was one of them- died, many lost their homes (which aare being repaired now), and... it was just messed up. That guy Napol and whoever's he's working for, they are gonna pay. I they are this low to attack a peaceful town, then they don't deserve the Doorway

so me and my friends were at my house, reading my father's jounal. We read it 3 times before we give up. There was nothing about the Doorway anywhere.

"Maybe it is only a legend." Lilla ponders.

"It has to be there somewhere," Eris replies "There is no way Mr. Richerdson wa targeted for no good reason!" he throws the book. The back cover breaks.

"Is everything alright in there?" my mother ask. You can't hide sounds from a fox.

"Yes everytimes fine, a book just fell." I said, that was true.

"um guys," Lilla looks at us "I believe that was suppose to happen."

I pick up the cover. Clever, hide the compartment where the fold is glued to the spine. There was a-

"A map!" Eris exclams "The Doorway does exist"

I look at it, the X is in my back yard.

"I dont think we found the Doorway, I think we found the first clue to the Doorway"

"Well then," Lilla was going outside to the shed. "Let's get digging!"

"If you ask me," Eris says, panting from diging, "It' smart to hide a journal, in a joounal.

"let's just get this done once and for all." Lilla says tiredly

I open the book and then I closed it again

"let's do it somewhere more privite"

"Is it it?"

"yes, the first thing I opened to talks about...... humans"

"didn't those whent extincted millions of yeis asked

"...let's just say our world isn't the only world"

"To Alex's wall of insults?" 

"What did you guys do while I was gone?"

"Alex," Lilla begins "now is not the time for jokes, it's time to read this sucker!"

We filp though the book. It filled with entries about other universes. Some ahead of our time. Some before. Some where Anthros went extint instead of the humans. Some where either or neither existed. Some good, some bad,  some.... weird

"Well ok but what does this have to do with anything?" Eris paced back and forth "why would one want such a thing?"

"Domanation? Techology? Could be anything" I said "But if it has something to do with my father... than We have to take care of it!"

"But can we do? We just became teenagers!" Lilla excalmed.

"Well, my Deer friend-"

"Alex why?"
