Night at the

Night at the Museum RP!

Alright, so I really wanted to do a historical roleplay, but I couldn't decide on a timeline. Did I want to do 1920s or medieval? Did I want a Roman one? Why couldn't I make up my mind?

Then I thought, screw it! It's a Night at the Museum RP! We can do ALL THE HISTORICAL GENRES!

By the way, you do not need to have watched Night at the Museum to be in this rp! I will explain any confusion. This isn't ABOUT Night at the Museum, it's just based on it.

The plot: Two night guards have been hired to work in the History Museum for the summer. Neither of them know each other or particularly like each other, but they need this job. That's when things get interesting.

Something in the museum is causing the exhibits to come to life at night. They freeze in the day time, and if they are outside the museum when the sun comes up they turn to dust.

Unfortunately, some of the exhibits in the museum aren't friendly. Some of history's greatest bad guys and conquerors are after whatever powers the museum (because whoever holds the artifact can become a living person, who doesn't turn to dust in the sun).

It's a race against the clock to find the artifact and save the museum!

You can be a well-known historical figure (like Alexander Hamilton), the product of a famous myth or legend (like King Arthur), or a made-up historical character (like a knight or mobster)!

Exhibits:

African Animals (yes, you can be an animal!)

1920's Gangsters/Flappers/stuff

Medieval and Renaissance

Civil War Exhibit

Roman Civilization

Old West Exhibit

Dinosaur/cavemen exhibit (YEAH BOI, YOU CAN BE A DINOSAUR)

Egyptian Exhibit

1940's Exhibit (WWII)

A Victorian Exhibit

Pilgrims/Puritans

An exhibit about the Mongols/Genghis Khan

French Revolution Exhibit

An Exhibit for famous conquerors and villains throughout history (dun dun DUNNN)\

An American Revolution exhibit, with redcoats and patriot soldiers (are you happy now, Hamilfans?)

Only one to three people per exhibit! You can make two characters, but don't make them for the same exhibit. You may suggest another exhibit if I haven't covered your character in one of mine.

Also, every night the museum is basically a free-for-all brawl. So you might want to give your character some kind of weapon.

Name:

Gender:

Exhibit:

Appearance:

Personality:

Backstory (if you're using a real historical figure make sure to look them up and get the details right):

Weapons:

Good or evil or neutral:

My charries:

Name:Jeanne Vivian Crowe (went by "Vivacious Viv" or "Viv")

Gender: Female

Exhibit: 1920's Exhibit

Appearance: Short, curly brown hair, a silver-blue flapper dress, and heterochromatic eyes (one is brown and the other is blue). Wears high heels that she can run surprisingly well in. In her exhibit, during the day, she is holding a champagne glass and chatting it up with a gangster. At night she steals a pinstripe jacket and a tommy gun and raises hell in the brawl that happens in the museum lobby. The 1920's gangsters hate the medieval exhibit, so she's usually fighting them.

Personality: Cunning, sly. Very polite when she has to be, but is actually wild. Loves to wreak havoc. Is a caring person if you get past the violence and slaughter. Has a thick northeastern gangster accent.

Backstory (if you're using a real historical figure make sure to look them up and get the details right): (SHE'S NOT A REAL HISTORICAL FIGURE, THIS IS MADE UP) Jeanne Vivian Crowe, or "Vivacious Viv," was a girl growing up on the wrong side of the tracks in NYC in the 1910s. Kicked out of the house for falling in love with a woman (as being non-straight was taboo at the time), she went to a mob boss she knew and offered to do anything he wanted. He saw her use and hired her to infiltrate the elite. As a small, innocent-looking waif, she infiltrated the hearts of many wealthy men but cared for none of them. She made an empire and name for herself.

Weapons: T O M M Y  G U N S

Good or evil or neutral: Neutral-ish. Isn't evil, but is only out for herself (for now).

Other: There's a woman in another exhibit who reminds Viv of a woman she used to love. This has shaken Viv a lot. She secretly wants to meet the woman in the other exhibit.

Hey, if anyone would like to be a woman in the medieval exhibit whom Viv could have a crush on, that'd be great.

Personality: Cocky, arrogant, not afraid of anything.

Night guard or exhibit, night guard or exhibit...

THIS IS SO HARD!!

Name: Abigail Hardin

Gender: Girl (you can kinda tell by the name)

Exhibit: THE WILD WEST (Or the Old West. SO glad this is an exhibit)

Appearance: long dirty blonde hair, serious dark blue eyes, a bit short. Tan skin (she's riding around in the sun all day for goodness sake). In her exhibit she's riding a horse aiming a pistol. She's the only girl cowboy in the exhibit. At night she generally tears around the halls shooting at anything that moves.

Personality: adventerous, loves high speed, high danger things. Yet she's also logical and likes to think plans through, it's just that danger isn't a concerning factor. Raised to be outwardly cold, distant, and destroying.

Backstory: her father was Texas criminal John Hardin (real person). She ran away from her mom as a teenager, became an outlaw like her dad. She worked in unexpected blast attacks, has never been caught yet.

Weapons: a couple pistols and knives

Good, evil, or neutral: evil. With the power to make anything come to life she could run the museum. Has a lot of rivals though.

Other: has always loved reading and music in an awed "you'll never have it" way since her mother read her a book of poems. Problem is she can't read and is totally tone deaf.

If you really want to, Cecelia, you can make a night guard charrie! :)

(June 2, 2017 - 7:17 pm)

Name: Tyrannosaurus rex (nicknamed Blue by the owner of the museum)

Gender: Female

Exhibit: Dinosaurs! (I love Jurassic Park/World so I couldn't help myself)

Appearance: A large t rex that has a blue tint and blue with the usually sand coloured scales. Very sharp claws and scary looking dark eyes.

Personality: Scary, threatening, even thought she's only a skeleton with a man made Dinosaur skin on her. She's basically a wild dinosaur.

Backstory: Only one out of the nest that survived, later making a full skeleton.

Good or evil: Erm, good. Can she talk? Or can she only talk to Waffleson's charrie, as it too will be a dinosaur?

Other: None

omg omg this sounds so magnificent?? night at the museum is honestly such a lovely movie & this is such an interesting roleplay idea ♥︎

name: cleopatra

gender: female

exhibit:  egypt!

appearance: thick inky curls that fall around her sunkissed shoulders with dark doe-like eyes and likely historically inaccurate mauve lipstick. her pristine white silk dress is complimented with glittering gold articles and her most regal head crown. during the lifeless day, she is lounging on her bejeweled throne with female servants fanning her with unusually large leaves. when she's alive at night, she wanders dreamily around the museum — giggling with her maids and chatting with other exhibits ( or, bickering).

personality: bright and kind, but more attentive than one would think. desperately wants to be popular among everyone around her. mildly selfish, with an underlying greed about her as well. also rather lovesick for anyone attractive.

backstory: sigh, cleopatra's whole terribly convoluted backstory is a bit much to try to summarize . . . but to put it simply her life was full of political intrigue & romance & power & a quite dramatic death! ♡

weapons: dislikes fighting, but loves her gold and saphire daggers.

alignment: likes to think of herself as good, but most probably neutral.

@Brookeira: ;)

Name: Lady Guinevere of Ashwicke, called "Gwen"

Gender: Female

Exhibit: Medieval and Renaissance

Appearance: Quite short, blue eyes, red hair, pale skin with a disturbing tendency to freckle. Wears an elegant gown in forest green velvet and silver-white satin, with gold brocade trim. During the day her hair is kept up in a simple bun, but at night, she re-does it in a complicated style that never seems to be the same twice. Her daytime dress is her favorite, but she's not above raiding the museum's back rooms for a riding costume.

Personality: Very prim and proper at first glance, but hides a razor-sharp mind under her courtly airs and graces. She's become an expert at manipulating social situations to suit her own ends, as that's about the only power a woman has in her era. She enjoys the finer things in life and detests direct physical violence, but if one of her many schemes goes awry, she's willing to do her own dirty work. Likes horseback riding quite a lot.

Backstory: (MADE UP) Lady Guinevere comes from a small landholding in the English countryside of the late 1400s. Her father died when she was young and her mother got remarried to a court noble, moving with Guinevere, her only child, to London. She has an ambiguous view of her stepfather - he'll never be as close to her as her birth father was, but she certainly doesn't hate him. Her half-brothers are still children, also in the exhibit, and they drive her positively up the wall. She has no betrothal yet, but she's of a marriageable age and her mother has made it quite clear that she expects Guinevere to marry soon, a prospect which Guinevere isn't sure if she likes or not.

Weapons: Social manipulation, and a riding crop if absolutely necessary.

Good or evil or neutral: Neutral, but leaning toward good if it comes down to it.

Other: Thinks the 1920s exhibit are a bunch of nasty brutes with no honor whatsoever, but finds herself strangely drawn to this one lady...

(June 5, 2017 - 11:05 am)

Name: Lucelle, sometimes called Lucy

Gender: F

Exhibit: African Animals

Appearance: Well, she's a lion. Being female, she has no mane; rather, shorter, golden hairs all through her body, and more prominent ears. Her eyes are a yellow-grey.

Personality: Incredibly protective. She's a ruthless hunter and good at working in a team, but the safety of her cub always comes first. Lucy looks for people to ally with, and once she knows she can trust you, she'll protect you with her life. She's intelligent, and though she can't understand human speech, she does know certain motions by both her and a human that signify clear, needed information.

Backstory: Lucy was born three years before having her first cubs. She originally had three cubs in her litter, but two died before they could grow old enough to protect themselves. She now protects her cub, Isaiah, fiercely, not wanting him to meet the same fate. Isaiah's father is featured in the exhibit, but they are not connected any more than the pride is as a whole.

Weapons: Teeth and claws, baby.

Alignment: Whatever fits her needs.

I find it difficult to properly develop a lion . . .
