Midnight City RP!

Midnight City RP!

Eratrea dashed through the sleeping city, her wild red hair flying around her in the wind. She could hear the hunters behind her, sweeping through the city in pursuit of the girls secrets. Eratrea new the dark history of the Midnight City just as well as any other person, but you would never guess that she was so deeply involved. When the Four Founders of the lands had joined forces and created the nine cities, all focused around the Midnight City, they had accepted help from Ertrea's father, one of the greatest wizards in the Four Lands. He cast a spell across the city to protect it, but something went wrong. The city was plunged into an eternal darkness that can only be ceased by the Jewel. And that's where Eratrea comes in. After her father was executed by the high council, the Jewel had come into her possession. However, the girl was not to fast to join forces with the very people who killed her father. The Jewel contained a secret, you see. The key to destroy the city- and the key to save it from darkness once and for all. And the Hunters, all working for the High Council, were employed to go to any costs to find the Jewel and bring it and the girl before them, dead or alive. Eratrea new there was another option; to escape from the city and protect the Jewel from whatever the High Council had in store for it. She could probably make it- Eratrea was not to be underestimated. But there were so many creatures out there who hungered for the Jewel beyond imagination. And she didn't know if mother could cope without her.

The girl looked left and right across the dark moonlight streets. The Hunt was getting close. Just in time, she  turned to her left and dashed across the street towards a towering oak tree and began to climb. She didn't stop until she was hidden among the branches. She watched, holding her breath, as the Hunters passed beneath the tree. They growled and hissed and howled in such a way that made the girl wonder what the High Council would do with the Jewel if they could. The obvious choice would be to protect the city. But Eratrea just didn't trust those men in black hoods, seated around the round table, talking in whispers about the fate of the people. They were hiding something. Eratrea could sense it.

Here is my character!

Name: Arielle Ilea

Nicknames: Luna, Ella

Gender: Female

Age: 15

Appearance: Arielle has short brown hair and deep brown eyes.  She wears a simple yellow peasant dress and a blue satin headband. She usually carries a book and a leather pouch with a quill pen and ink with her wherever she goes.

Personality: Arielle is shy, quiet yet very imaginative, kindhearted, has a tendency to overlook other people's faults, and secretly longs for adventure.

Type: Human

Backstory: Arielle lived in a small village just outside Midnight City. She was the daughter of the village bookkeeper and scribe. As a result, she learned to read at a young age and was then very different from the illiterate farmers around her. Arielle's father and mother taught her at home endowing her with knowledge. Arielle dreamed of adventures like the kind she read about in her stories. But she was unprepared for the adventure that would fall into her lap. One night a mysterious stranger left an ancient looking book covered with runes at her doorstep with a note. The note said: Guard this precious book with your life for much depends on it. The writer left no signature. Arielle's parents put the strange book in a secret strongbox to safeguard it. The next day the Hunters came to their house after the book. Arielle escaped with the book but her parents weren't so lucky. Her house was razed by the Hunters and Arielle's quiet world was shattered forever. She's now on the run for her life and for the safety of this book which holds many secrets....

Other: Since she is a secondary character, Arielle meets many of the other characters on the journey. So she has no previous history with all of the characters posted so far because she's lived a pretty sheltered life in a small village.

Reserving the (I think) last spot for a secondary character!

Name: Virin Halleen

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Appearance: He has shocking green eyes, as with most shapeshifters (I'm making this up). His hair has a tousled, windblown, natural look, it's a tawny brown, and has streaks of blonde.

Virin usually wears a brown tunic, rough leather pants, and thick-soled combat boots. He wears a slightly padded cloak as extra protection and camoflauge. It's like a ranger's cloak, it blends into the background, so he's never seen when shapeshifting.

There's a thin chain, with a birch leaf hung on the end around his neck. Always carries a throwing dagger, and a fighting dagger. He's more of a melee fighter, he likes to use his daggers, and hand to hand combat.

Personality: He's wild-ish on the outside, being a shapeshifter, but when you get to know him, he's pretty sarcastic, but he's also kind to those who manage to get a smile out of him. He's loyal, but he sometimes has a tendency to push himself to the brink, which causes him to snap and say that he doesn't need to rest.

He's pretty serious about romance, he doesn't wander around with it, throwing it awa carelessy. He keeps it, and treasures it, if he can.

Type: (Human, Elf ect.) Shapeshifter

Background (optional): He ran away with his baby sister, Teyloane one day, when his father had come home drunk, beating his mother, while she was reducing the last, lingering effects of his sister's birth, a few months ago.

He knew he was a shapeshifter since he was eleven, he told nobody because he was afraid what his father would do to him if he found out.

He lived with his sister in a well concealed home since he was fifteen. Now, his sister's four, and is well enough to help with chores.

Other: Could he be shipped with someone? A four year old sister with a brother who has a romance would be an interesting combination . . .

Wouldn't be interesting if before my charrie became completely evil, she and Virin were a thing? Maybe they still have feelings, but Aurelia's tried to hide it? I know a villain/hero ship doesn't usually happen, but...I think it'd be interesting.

I'd love it! But how should they meet? Maybe she was sent on a mission or something for the gem, and she tried to incapitate him?

Cool! Maybe only a summer earlier when she was just starting to work for the Council, they met when she was sent on a search mission for the gem. This was before she was evil, and he tried to help her find the gem, even though she would try to arrest him later on (maybe because she found out that he was a shape shifter, and the Council was tying to capture them for some reason)? They met at the same time over the course of a few days, and they started liking each other. Aurelia forgot about getting the gem and instead, they went on their own separate adventures. Then one day, the Council caught them, and Aurelia helped Virin run away, right before he discovered that she was originally going to arrest him. He feels betrayed, and she feels like it's a misunderstanding and upset. But they've never really forgotten about each other.

Name: Aine Veryl

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Appearance: Aine has beautiful blue-green eyes that light up her otherwise plain face. Her dirty blonde hair is pretty long, but she pins it up to get it out of the way. She usually wears a simple dress (under which she hides a sword that she stole from her father), a cloak and worn but sturdy leather boots.

Personality: Aine is her father's daughter when it comes to brains. She also inherited some of his short temper, but this is balanced out some by her mother's kind, sweet, disposition. Aine is sarcastic and somewhat serious, although she has a good nature within. She doesn't trust easily, and isn't easily turned from her opinions. She hates her father for working with the council and hates the council for all their wrongdoings.

Species (Human, Elf, etc.): Human

Background: She is the daughter of the local blacksmith, who is actually doing pretty well, thanks to some connections to the High Council, who, in exchange for some not-so-legal  work on his part, are sending him money. Her father is mean and rude, but very, very smart. Aine was taught that the council is good, but by the time she turned eleven, the evidence that it was not was so conclusive that she doesn't trust her father anymore.

Other: N/A

@Pepper Star: Can our characters be friends? In my other info for Arielle I said that she would meet most of the other characters on the journey.  But Aine sound like she could be from the same village Arielle is from. Arielle's parents and Aine's parents don't get along because of the blacksmith's underhanded dealings with the High Council. Arielle's parents taught her to be cautious when darling with the Council. But the two girls have been good friends since they were little.

Sounds good?
