My first Round

My first Round

My first Round Robin!!!! I've participated in enough that I thought I might start one at long last. So,...

Christie sat down to a bowl of steaming hot carrot soup. Trina the cook was telling her regular lunchtime story. She listened, sipping daintily like her mistress Princess Kitty. “And in the midsummer’s eve moonlight danced the fairies, in circles. Their wings were made of silver and spiderwebs and dewdrops. And they sang and played silver flutes, and their music was haunting and sweet and pure and enchanting and wonderful. Then the girl looked and saw her lover was dancing with them. And she called his name, but he did not hear her, mesmerized as he was by the enchantment. And when the fairies left, he was gone with them. She went home to tell her parents, but they thought her mad. They were sorry, though, when they found her run away. Perhaps,” she said, “She tried to find him. But that was two hundred years ago.”

“You believe in fairies, then?” a small boy asked.

“Of course I do, child!” answered Trina. “But they don’t reveal themselves much anymore, oh my, no.” She paused, lowering her voice to a whisper. Christie leaned in to hear better. “They say, though, they say, that where you and I have black spots in our eyes, the fairies have only bright shining light.” She looked around and bustled off to refill a bowl.

Christie stirred her soup. She had never known anyone else who actually believed in fairies before. A thought came to her. “Mrs. Trina,” she called, “Where do fairies live?”

“No one knows child, but they say it is completely inaccessible to humans. The only story about its location is that it is somewhere in the Great Forest, and protected on one side by the Misty Marsh.”

Kitty did not want to wipe anyones memory, which is why she refused to wipe the duchess'. To do so would have confirmed that she was a fairy, and kitty did not want that to be confirmed. " I think christie could help us" Said kitty. Christie nodded her head wildly.

"Whith what?" John exclaimed. For that kitty did not have an answer.

Christie jumped in " I could be your cook on your magical fairy adventures that you are bound to have." Christie said hopefully.

John rolled his eyes, but it was dark and nobody noticed

Thanks. Sadly, we're only fostering her for a while...Her, her brother, her two sisters, and another cat that acts like thier big brother... Thier names are: Amellia~Gray tabby Jane~Gray with a really strange, almost circle-like marking on both her sides Tiger~Brown/tan/white/black tabby (my fav! he <3 me! :D :D) Itty-Bitty (that's the only name we've come up with so far..): tiny siamese (she's about half the size of the others because when she brought in, they said she was dead and she basically was for 30 mins until they resisitated her, so she's really small!) and Cal: patchy siamese (he's called Cal or California because the Humane Society rescued him from being euthanized in Cal.

(b vbassed e78888de23 that was my little Tiger buddy. Ow! I wasn't paying attention to him so he bit my nose! (softly) Kitty breath stinks! He chases his tail like a dog!!!)

(lk3wm<,RGGRRRRRRRRMNNNNNUDX that was Itty Bitty. She's so fat!! :D)

(,K[[KKOJH cm, mjhhhhhh80000 that was Jane. She likes to lick me for some reason....)

Hmmm, don't really know why I'm posting this... I wont do any story because Adina just posted... Bye!

The Duchess was in a foul mood. Thoughts flew around her head, like a storm in the making. Her head began to hurt with all that thinking.

"Well," she muttered to herself "Nothing like a long nap to take away head pain!" She settled her large body on the soft bed and almost immediately fell into a deep sleep. She stared snoring and snorting like a sleeping pig. She rather looked like one, to, with her stubby, upturned nose, rose, not pink, nightgown, and hair, fashioned in two buns on the side of her head, looked a lot like ears. Little did the duchess know, but at that moment,a few major things where happening.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Niada felt a sight jolt as she was bumped out of the portal's tunnel. Luckily, she stuck the landing and didn't fall and tip the closet over. She, after making sure no one heard her, opened the door cautiously. She peeked out. All she saw was a pig-like woman snoring louder than Fae. She tiptoed, heading out of the room. She was almost to the door, when she realized that The Others didn't have wings! She cast an invisibility spell over her fluttering wings. She sent her mind scanning over the whole palace, looking for Quinn. She found him in a potato storage room. Strange, there was a bit of magic blood in there, beside Quinn's. Actually, there seemed to be a two sources of other magic blood. She zoomed in on them. They had the same faery blood in them, well, half faery blood. They seemed to be sisters, but one seemed to serve the other.. It was strange, very strange. Niada started to the storage room, wondering, wondering about the strange sources of magic and why Quinn was with them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Quinn, or John, as some knew him, was realizing the same thing. There seemed to be to half-fearies in the room.

"Who did you say she was, Cat? I mean, Kitty?" he said, winking as he motioned to Christie.

"She is my maid, why?"

"Your sure your not related?"

"Yes, she is a maid and I am a princess."

"I see." said Quinn disbelievingly.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lisel had finally told Peter. There had been twins. Not just one half-faery, but two. Twins. He wasn't exactly happy.
"So I have two daughter somewhere in the world?! Great! Just great!" He exploded.
Lisel left in a sour mood again.
((Haha! Cool! Now they're sisters!))
"Now the question is," said Kitty, "How are we going to get out of here? We can't exactly go straight through the kitchen; they'll see John."
"I can turn us invisible," John volunteered. A plan was beginning to form in his mind. "But unfortunately, it might not work for your maid; she's not half fairy."
"Well," replied Kitty sarcastically, "I thought you just said we were related."
"Would you like to try and see?" John returned. Christie surprised them both by answering for herself. "I would."
A few minutes later, one invisible fairy and two invisible half-fairies burst out of the kitchen door and into a high-ceilinged hall with wood rafters. They had jostled a few maids in the crowded kitchen, but not hard enough to attract attention from the maids, who hadn't even turned around.
*******************************************************
Niada turned down a high ceilinged woood-vaulted corridor and stopped. Quinn and the halfchildren were much closer now. She looked around. Where...? Then she reallised. An invisibility spell! Invisibility spells were useful to a fairy in a castle full of fairies, but to a fairy in a castle full of humans it was a dead giveaway to any magical sense. "Quinn..." She called softly.
"Stop!" John held up his hand and Christie nearly crashed into him. Kitty had to smirk.
John ducked out onto a balcony and with a snap of his fingers removed the invisibility spells. Christie let out a tiny shriek when she saw that they weren't alone.
"Niada." John looked mildly annoyed. "What the Fae are you doing here?"
A petite young girl with a traumatized expression had just materialized. "The better question would be, what are you doing here?" she hissed. "With them!"
"Niada, dear, please be-" John began, but Kitty interrupted, snapping, "What exactly is that and why is it is my palace?"
John cleared his throat. "She, Kitty, is Niada, my..." he coughed, "yes... eh, Niada, Princess Kitty- Kitty, Princess Niada. And her-" he gestured helplessly to Christie, standing in the background, "that's, ah, Christie, Kitty's..." he drifted off, looking at Kitty, "sister?"
Kitty looked extremely worked up. She seemed to be trying to choke out some kind of question, but all that came out of her throat was a lost sort of, "Urrrfgghhgghh."
"She is right here! And I do have a name!!" Christie glared at Kitty.
"You are sister!" said Quinn.
"Are you sure, Quinn?" Niada questioned.
"Wait, Quinn? I thought you name was Johnny!"
"Johnny??!! Niada was confused.
"Well..." Quinn started
"Look, Quinn," said Niada, "we better get back. Finding the humans may be a daring secret mission, but let's get out of here. And leave the halfchildren." Quinn nodded slowly. He knew it wasn't his job to bring them back. Together they slipped down the hall, invisible. Standing behind him, Kitty felt his invisible hand leave hers. For a moment she had felt the sensation of invisibility. But it was leaving. And they were going to be left behind. But she wanted to see the fairy world! Suddenly she had an idea. A little magic was left, like a prickle on her fingertips. She blew on them like she was making a fire. She rubbed her hands together. She concentrated and stared at her fingers, and as she watched, her hand began to turn invisible! Quickly she rubbed it on her arm, and her arm vanished. She was working magic! Herself! A footstep at the end of the hall told her where Quinn and Niada were going. Back to the portal! She turned toward Christie and grabbed her with an invisible hand. Christie gasped. Her own hand was turning invisible as well.
