New Roleplay

There are plenty of RRs but the roleplays have sort of died out. This isn't my best work, but anyhow...

Maligna von Crew stared through the mist surrounding her house, a rather intimidating black stone affair that was known by the locals as the Marsh House. The von Crew Manor, actually, Maligna would always think, but no one remembered her name anymore.

She could sense someone approaching- two people, actually, but one was so young that she hardly counted him or her. The new apprentice, perhaps, Maligna thought, and a parent. She'd requested an apprentice a week or so ago, asking the village pressman to put an ad in the next newspaper- if one could call it that; it was little more than some bound paper detailing gossip.

She hadn't specified her trade, but she hardly thought it necessary. Nothing she could say would convince the villagers that she wasn't a witch.

Well, technically I suppose I could be a witch, she thought as she stoked the fire in her living room hearth. Not a good witch, as they say, but not terribly evil either... She was so deep in her thoughts that she hardly heard the rap at her front door. But she did, and stood up to answer it.

Yes, but it didn't seem to work, so I copy/pasted.

((On DtE, Emily has requested revival for this RP, among others. So let's get it started back up!))

Maligna glared at the maid. "Silence," she snapped. Turning to the girl and her mother, she tried to smile. It was rather difficult. "Now come along in..." She pretended to have forgotten the girl's name, merely for the sake of being annoying.

She ushered the girl in and then glowered at her mother. "Would you like some tea? See the garden, perhaps? Get along with you, loitering is illegal!" She slammed the door sharply in her face.

((Y'see, the reason I wasn't posting was that I went EHunter and began despising my character. But now I've formulated a plan to make her evil and devious. She's a spy for the bad guys and is trying to recruit children to join their evil cause. I'm glad, she was quite dull otherwise. :/

Carry on, I'm done rambling.))

I have joined a lot of the other roleplays so can I join this one too? Hi Mary Liz, I have seen you in the roleplays I am in. A question: Why do you always want to be a bad guy? No offense or anything...

Nvier raised her hands.

Lightning!

A blast of power flew from her hands. Raw power. The blob of energy hit the ground and solidified. Nvier looked at it and her former teacher's words echoed in her head:

Never use spells. Do potions. Your spells can go horriblely wrong. Your power can't be bent to your will...

Nvier stared at the solidified magic at her feet. No! I never should have did a lightning spell! She lifted the blob.

It's an egg. I made an egg! But who knows what may hatch...

Nvier looked sadly at the egg she created. It could hatch in to something incredibly dangerous. But she was sooooooooooo curious! She had to hide it. Nvier glanced around, searching for a hiding place. She glanced around and buried it under layers of dead leaves and ran off.

I need to find someone to teach me how to restrain my spells. Or maybe even just give me lessons on potionry...

Sirlya floated along the ground. She landed, skidded to a halt, and began to inspect a nearby bush. It looked perfect. Why was I chosen to perfect all of nature? It's getting to be quite a bore, she thought with a sigh. Still, there was nobody else to do it, and she was the perfect one for the job. (I just used the word 'perfect' three sentences in a row!)Suddenly she reached a bump. "What could that be?" she wondered aloud, digging at the spot. A white spot appeared. Sirlya dug some more- and then saw what she had unearthed.

An egg.

Sirlya wondered what kind of animal layed its eggs underground. Not any that she knew of. Anyway, it's best left alone, she decided, re-burying the egg. But her heart was filled with curiosity as she flew away.

Anyone want to be Nvier's potions teacher?

((I might do that. I'm debating whether or not to join.))

((Please do.))

Nvier walked through the forest, still remembering the egg. It stayed on her mind no matter what she did. Potions...anyone could do that. But magic was too dangerous, thus she needed to do potions...

Sirlya felt her curiosity growing. She felt she musn't see the egg again. But she was growing restless. Every day she thought about it- and then she decided, against her better judgement, to go see it again.
