I half smile back at him, wondering if it's a good smile or a bad one. Smiles can have very different meanings.. "Just, like, don't make it too public, cause like, people could turn on me and stuff." I start scribbling some more words, pondering his earlier words and still not understanding this Elijah kid. He seems to hate me until he finds out that I have a girlfriend. Although he was kinda helpful with explaining this science-y stuff, which, fyi, I will never need to know. I'm practically the world's biggest popstar. Do you think I care about photosynthesis? 

The second I get home, I change into pink skinny jeans and a tigth silver short sleeve shirt for my concert. I hoist my guitar over my shoulder and walk out to the car in preparation for the Teen Choice Awards, which is an hour drive away. And we actually have to drive because my aunt is too cheap to fly. Ugh. No, make that double ugh.

The seatbelt is uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable. And there's only so much Snapchat to go through. About twenty minutes into the drive, I get a text from Riley that reads. "have u checked instagram lately?" I immmeadiatly open the app, where my fans have been going crazy. I swipe up to refresh the page, extremely surprised and in disbelief by what I see. My eyes narrow in anger.

Afterschool study hall ended at four. Elijah looked up at the clock, willing it to go the last minute. Study hall was usually super fun, but the new sub was ruining it with his assigned seating. Finally, the sub looked down at his watch. "Okay, you may go."

Elijah burst out of the room. A little too much of a hurry when I'm going nowhere. 

AJ had drum practice, so Eli headed to the nearby park to kill some time. It was mostly a dog park, with a few lonely breaking down playstructures scattered around. Despite the desolate description, there were usually at least a few little kids around the ages of six and seven, and a group of kids around middle-school age at the merry-go-round, (which was a really awful name for something that was frequently pushed at rollercoaster speed as a bunch of teenagers struggled to hold on.) The other kids were mostly local, and there for the same reason Elijah was- to kill time and hang out.

McKayla was running at breakneck speed currently, pushing the spinning object (that was what Eli was calling it from now on) around in circles. Eli easily jumped on. "What's up, guys."

"Hey," McKayla said, and a couple other kids nodded at him.
