Extra! Extra! NEW

Extra! Extra! NEW roleplay.

It's two hundred years in the future and and the remnants of mankind that have survived the enviormental collapse are now thriving on a large airtight settlement on the moon, called the SunStar. But one of the elements that keeps the air in the settlement clean has run out quite suddenly, because of the Rise. (a power-hungry group of villains that wish to enslave the settlement) Forced between a desicion to be enslaved or perish, the government is desperate to overthrow the Rise in secret, but need support to do it.

name: Lea Wright (pronounced Laya Right)

age: 16

description: tall, with short brown hair that looks as if it wants to be red. soft brown eyes. strong.

backstory: her parents are in the Rise, but Lea alone in her family of seven realizes the cruelty of the Rise's methods. Discovering one of the Rise's top secret plans, Lea runs away from her family and becomes a spy for the government. knowing she can never return home, she lives amongst the streets, stealing what she needs to survive, looking for a way to spy on the Rise. with her parents constantly in search of her and the information she posesses, Lea is constantly on the move and is ready for a change in the way the people of SunStar live.

I paused in the street, not sure the once safe cover of night could be my cloak much longer. I could sense the presense of another human being, could almost hear their shallow breathing as the air of SunStar slowly, but steadily, evaporated. I shut my eyes, sure I had heard something, but not sure whether they could hear me. With a deep breath of precious air I slipped into an alleyway, at the mercy of the shadows as the other followed in pursuit of their quarry. Me.

Nysem approached the Sunstar. Shall I enter? She asked herself. She stared at it. "No, now that it will be destroyed." Why stop it? Just because I don't want to destroy something doesn't mean I have to save it. She thought, even though her paws were carrying her there anyways. She saw the a door in front of her. She knocked. It opened to reveal a human.  A guard, perhaps. Thought Nysem as the guard stared at her. "A Kiy'shi!" He yelled, even though Nysem had already crept in and closed the door behind her. Nysem defeated him with a few martial arts moves she learned at home. She opened the door that lead in to the sunstar and looked around. She quickly ran to the city, searching for a good hiding place among the shadows.

Jayli crept through the tall maze of buildings. Wait? a noise? There was usually barely a sound in the despairing cities of SunStar. Jayli glanced behind her- then turned her whole self around. For gliding down through thin air was a cat.

Only, it wasn't like any type of cat she'd ever seen. Then again, Jayli's pet cat had died shortly after she'd come to SunStar, and everyone else's had, too. She barely remembered what dear Softwing had looked like.

But this cat was different. It was- could it be?- purple and blue! Were cats normally that color? Jayli was at a loss. Then the- cat? alien? thing?- treaded toward her. It tilted its head to the side, studying her. Jayli took a step back and stopped. Who knew if this cat was dangerous or not? It could be sweet and gentle, for all she knew. Jayli put her hand on its head. The cat hissed! Jayly stumbled back. Forget sweet. Gentle, too. Jayli turned back, ready to leave. Then it spoke. Jayli could not believe her ears- but she listened. This is what it said:

"Come."

Nysem stared at the human. What to do? This human didn't know what she was. That was visible on her face. Nysem had to think. Fast. A crazy idea flashed in her head. Very crazy. But it might work. She hissed at the human, gaining her attention. She glanced around, scanning the landscape for hiding spots. She saw a shabby old broken down house ahead. She turned to the human and murmured, "Come."

The human followed her as Nysem crept through the town like a shadow. This human doesn't know who I am. Maybe she could give me information about this area?

Jayli cautiously followed the strange cat. Where was it taking her? Then she saw that they were approaching an old shack. The two animals slowly crept through the door. Jayli sat down on a broken bench. The cat stared at the human. The human stared at the cat. Finally Jayli said, "Who are you?" And the cat told her.

She told Jayli that her name was Nysem. Of where she came from and what she was doing. Then she told her why she was there. And Jayli understood.

The two sat some more. And then Nysem asked the human, "Who are you?" And Jayli told her of how her parents died. Of how she snuck aboard the spaceship to SunStar. And of how she fought against the Rise.

             And Nysem understood.

Jayli and Nysem sat together for some time. Then they asked eack other at the same time, "How can I help?" And they turned and smiled at each other-and both understood

Why am I telling her all this? Thought Nysem as she spoke. She acts...like a sibling. she thought. Then a memory flashed through Nysem's mind. A gunshot, a pile of fur falling limply to the ground. Her claws digging in to fur. And the kiy'shi fighting commander saying:

You killed her,so you must take her place.

The death of her brother... It must be a secret. This human, Jayli must never know. Ever.

Later, Nysem and the human were asleep in the building. Well, at least Jayli was.

Nysem was wondering.

How can I help?

Jayli...Defeating the rise. That is a definite problem.

But mine... I'm a fugitive, hiding in a place where her enemies are going...

Then Nysem fell into a uneasy sleep.

Nysem glanced around. She knew she was dreaming. She was reliving the memory.

She was in a large room.On one side was a black kiy'shi. On the other side there was a brown kiy'shi. Her brother.

The sound of a gunshot echoed.

The brown kiy'shi fell.

Nysem lept on the black kiy'shi and knocked the gun out of her paw.

Furiously attacking...

The black kiy'shi attacked back, but Nysem's furiously aimed strikes got her.

She fell, and Nysem stepped back in shock. The Kiy'shi was dead. Nysem had killed her. And a little bit later, she was standing in front of the kiy'shi fighting commander.

"You killed her, so you must take her place."

Nysem woke up, gasping. It seemed like she just barely heard a voice.

You killed her, so you must take her place.

Charrie- Suji Rizmo

Age-16

Description- Straight black hair, black eyes, short, lithe.

A Computer Genius. Part of a gang in SunStar called the Hackers, all teen prodigies. The Hackers are on an illegal mission to overthrow the SunStar's computers, the government, and the Rise for a computer enforced city, led by the technologically advanced.

The Hackers:

Suji: Computer Genius

Suji's brother: Frances "Riz" Rizmo,

the Leader: Evlia,

Riz's friend: Daron

Liya: the martial artist.

Suji smiled, then gave the thumbs up to Liya, who moved like a shadow towards the guards. They went down without a sound. Suji, Riz, Daron, and Evlia dropped to the ground with a quiet thump. Riz set about picking the cyberlock with expert skill while Daron disabled the sensors. They moved in through the airtight door. The Central Airlock Computer. The effort of months had paid off. Suji went to work. Riz and Evlia helped where they could, but she barely noticed them, her hands flying across the keyboard in a blur. Thirty seconds...twenty..... fifteen...five, four, three- The door burst open with a hiss as the airlock reopened. Ten guards burst in, laser rods raised. They'd be using pistols if it weren't that they were frightened of damaging the computer. Suji dodged and entered the print confimation code. She downloaded it all onto a cyberchip and pocketed it. Liya caught her eye and nodded, clearing a path out. Suji couldn't aim for her life, the gun at her hip was just for threats, but she had to get the cyberchip out of the Central Airlock. So she took advantage of the pause in laser bursts and burned a hole in the wall with a special acid Daron thought up, then leaped into the freezing night air and slid down her rope to freedom.

Jayli yawned. Stretching, she noticed that she hadn't felt this good in a long time. Time... she hadn't had enough of that lately. She had been too busy fighting. Grinning from ear to ear, she called, "Nysem! Where are you? Get up!" No answer. She called a few more times, then began to get worried. She stumbed out of the shack, shouting for Nysem. Then she spotted her, sitting on a low branch of a tree. It had to be the last one in the area: Trees were dying out.

Jayli, relieved, climbed up the tree beside Nysem. The Earth was just rising. Jayli remembered something from long ago... the sun in place of the Earth. Must have been a dream, Jayli decided: there was nothing sillier than a "sunrise". Then she saw something out of the corner of her eye: another cat. What? Jayli knew there were no more cats around here. "Nysem?" she ventured, pointing at the shape in the distance. but instead of reacting, Nysem just narrowed her eyes. "Nysem?" Jayli asked nervously. Then, with a hiss, Nysem leapt toward the other cat.

Oh, thank goodness she woke me up.

Nysem thought as she attacked the kiy'shi. It was one of the kiy'shi police. They must never know she was here. But she stepped back. The kiy'shi was holding a lazer blaster." You're a-comin' with me." The kiy'shi looked back at Jayli.

"And your little friend's a-comin' too."

Nysem thought for a moment.

"You know what?" Said Nysem.

She knocked the lazer blaster out of the kiy'shi's paw and grabbed it.

"Thank you very much."

Nysem grabbed Jayli's hand and ran.

Meanwhile, the startled kiy'shi police member whipped out a walkie-talkie and said in to it: "We've found 'em. I repeat, we've a-found 'em.'
