Give me life.

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Give me life.

Give me life. Build me up. Give me fauna, give me flora, give me people groups to call my own. Give me villains, give me saviours, give me innocent bystanders and secret villages.

I am an empty world, waiting to be named, waiting to be awoken.

Welcome to the first-ever World Waker thread.

And now, 3 days later, I'm finally posting. Its not much, but hopefully it stops this from dying.

Young Erisians become adults during the second inter-tribal gathering after their third year of age. Because the gatherings only happen every 5 years, the new adults can be anywhere between 13 and 18 years old. Coming of age involves a week-long ceremony, at the end of which the new adults enter the Stone Garden and take a piece from it to make into a talisman.

Also, there are a lot of ancient magic artifacts in this world. Anyone else think they should all be connected somehow?

I think they should be. I don't know how they should be connected, though.

I think we need a creation story, as well as some characters to keep this going? Also a story and a plot. (And I've noticed that the Western and Eastern continents are mostly empty at this point.)

I'd think An Empty World would want to write the creation story/plot, but I can do it if no one else wants to.

I'll also make my character later, hopefully by tomorrow.

A map based off of what other have done, which should be more legible and shows land features. I think we should probably name the rivers going through Alpyna. Also, if there are any typos or mistake please tell me and I will try to fix it.

Míralaon

Down the middle of the Western Continent lie the Mountains of Ezaq. They are White Mountains, though there is no snow on them, and their slopes appear pink, peach, or purple at dawn. They are surrounded by tall cliffs of the same material, impossible to scale, and the River Velion runs alongside the Mountains on the east side, like a moat. (This river flows south). And up here amongst these pearly peaks is the hidden civiliazation of Míralaon. (The Andésian people, who live on the plains alongside the Velion, regard Míralaon as heaven). Here, the air is still and cool, and clear waterfalls soar down into wide pools of clean water, which in turn have waterfalls that smash into the top of the cliffs and spill down into the River Velion.

The people here are known as Cezals. They are hermaphrodites that slightly resemble centaurs.

More later, I gotta go.

Okay, so this is my idea for a creation story. Feel free to give suggestions/change anything in here, since this affects everyone else.

When the world was formed, there were five great spirits formed as well. Four of the spirits were formed to watch over the world, each to its own continent. The fifth was to watch over the other four and aid them.

As time went on, the spirits guided the world and its peoples, aiding them in the betterment of their lives. But the fifth spirit looked upon the nations of the other four spirits and grew envious. Though he was formed to rule over only the other spirits, it wished for greater power, power enough to rule the world and its spirit guardians. It turned against the other spirits and sought to conquer them. But the other spirits still carried with them a little of their master's power, and sent that power against the rouge spirit, sealing him deep within the earth.

The rouge spirit was enraged at his imprisionment. It sought escape, only to find that its light was insufficient. So it shed its light, becoming a dark spirit, a Shadow. In doing so, it gained the power to escape through a great chasm (The Breach). It then continued its goal of world rule, gathering together those who sought the same goal and casting a great darkness over the land.

The other spirits sought to destroy the Shadow, but were too weak to overcome the dark power. All seemed lost, until a hero came from those who opposed the Shadow and its minions. The spirits recognized the hero and gave him the entirety of their power, forged into a single blade. With this blade, the hero shattered the Shadow, splitting its power and scattering its minions.

The spirits wished to destroy the shattered Shadow, but could not, for only their master could destroy one of them. So they took the pieces of its power and seperated them, placing them into relics. The relics were given to the mations, one to each, to guard. But the four greatest pieces of the Shadow, the spirits sealed within themselves. They then left to the four corners of the world and slept beneath their temples. Time went on, the pieces of Shadow changed hands, some being guarded faithfully without remembrance of what they were, some stolen, some lsot beneath the sea. The spirits themselves were forgotten, their temples decayed. But still the spirits seplt and guarded their pieces of the Shadow. For they knew that not all of those who followed the Shadow were destroyed that day. Someday, those who sought the return of the Shadow would seek the relics. When that time came, the spirits would need their power, both to protect the pieces of Shadow and to aid the nations, should the Shadow be reformed...

Ooh, yes, I love it! Can the Shadow be Varjo Kuningas?

I'd also like for Sayidat Alshams, the being the Sarie Albdyh worship, to be one of the spirits.

Iishraq Temple

The Iishraq Temple is not just the home of the Sarie Albdyh  chieftain lives, it is also home to a strange relic. Deep in the underground area of the Iishraq temple is a large shrine dedicated to Sayidat Alshams. Although most religious ceremonies are normally carried out by individual families within their homes, it is sometimes used by the chieftain or priests to give offerings to Sayidat Alshams. At the base of the shrine is where the Fajar Spear is kept safe. The Fajar Spear is said to be Sayidat Alshams' own personal spear. It is used only by the chieftain, and only in desperate times, because of its great power. The temple is very well guarded, and the underground area is normally sealed off. However, it would still be possible to sneak in there....

Yinni Xing forest

The Yinni Xing forest is a massive forest that  dominates the majority of the eastern continent. It is largely unpopulated and unexplored, because of the large traces of dark magic within it. The entire forest is full of demons and shadow beasts.

There is a legend saying that there is a temple at the center, where all the evil beings of the forest come from. It is said that there is a bow and arrows hidden within the temple that are powered with magic. The temple is simply called the Ancient Forest Temple.

Within the forest are ruins of ancient cities. It is said that there used to be a strange species that lived in the forest before it was overrun by demons. But they all went extinct long ago when the forest was corrupted.

Wait, should the Egg of Gadalan be one of the artifacts? You know since the Imperyalins think that if it breaks demons will tear apart the heavens and everything?

More on Míralaon

Míralaon is ruled by Monarch Sylva, who descended from the clouds many centuries ago. Sylva is the child of the spirit of Equlet.

Sylva created themselves a companion named Yevil out of rocks, light, and clear water. Together they had many children who made up the Cezals (named after Sylva and Yevil's firstborn, Cezal). Sylva shall live, it is said, until their parent dies, but most other Cezals live 130-170 years. A Cezal is considered an adult at 90.

@Sybill

I was actually thinking that Varjo Kuningas would be the Shadow, though Varjo Kuningas would only be the name its known by in that region. Also, having Sayidat Alshams be the eastern spirit is fine.

@Spiffycat

Yeah, the Egg of Gadalan should be one of the relics.

So, a couple more things about the origin story/plot:

Each spirit is known by a different name by each people. Their true names are not known by anyone except their creator. This is becasue they were formed from those names, and will be destroyed if their true name is spoken again. The spirits' basic manifestation is a ball of luminous liquid. They can appear in any form they wish to better communicate with other people, but the liquid ball is always present. The Shadow's ball is made of dark liquid instead.

The northern spirit resides in the Stone Garden, which was once its temple (feel free to change this if you want). It is known as Borialicas by the Erisians, who have forgotten the other spirits and believe that the northern one created the world.

After the hero shattered the Shadow, he died, his body unable to handle the spirits' power. He was buried, along with the blade and some other weapons used against the Shadow, in a massive mausoleum underneath Charvana. The mausoleum is sealed by many great spells to prevent anyone unworthy from entering and taking the blade.

Here's my idea for a general plot:

Across the world, relics are being gathered. In the west, the Giardi Emperor has sent his navy to raid Miralaon and Ruo Ying to gather relics, while a powerful dark knight attacks Imperyal and Alpyna in the north (I don't know wabout the south/east yet). The spirits realize that the servants of the Shadow seek its resurrection and try to stop them, but are unable as they have been weakened by the pieces of Shadow within them. In order to prevent the Shadow's return, the weakened spirits call those around the world to stop the Shadow's servants. However, most of the world has bacome unable to hear the spirits. The few who can still hear them must join together and stop the Shadow's servants before they reach their goal.

Let me know what you think about this plot idea!
