It's a regular

It's a regular summer evening. You have your window open, and a faint but cool breeze blows in. Suddenly, the wind blows harder and colder, and a number of dried leaves and a white envelope blows in. You bend down to pick up the envelope and find, to your surprise, that it is closed with a medieval-looking wax seal. The seal bears an emblem of a dragon, curved around a tree. Inside is a letter.

Greetings, CBer:

If you are reading this letter, you have been invited to an exclusive trip. Our organization has found disturbances in an unknown mountain range. We mean to seek out this disturbance and study it; it appears to be a living species. Your assistance is crucial to this project. Though it is entirely at your discretion, we hope you choose to come. If you do so, please fill out the form attatched and leave it on your windowsill with this invitation. Regards,

Lady Saga Tremayne

As you open the envelope to look for the form, you find two pieces of paper. One is folded neatly and seems to be the same cream-colored paper that the invitation was written on. The other is slightlly crumpled and is made of a different paper. It's darker, and bears a water-stain in one corner. Of course, you open the crumpled one. It appears to be completely blank, but as you turn it this way and that, you notice faint and hastily scribbled lettering, reading: Help, CBer! You and the others must go to Lady Tremayne's "expedition," but you must only pretend to follow her orders. What she intends to trap and train is a wild beast, and one that must be protected. I am disguised, but I will give you a message when the time comes.

As soon as you finish reading the note, it crumbles away to dust in your hands. The other paper is a the form:

Okay that's it. Sorry it was long! I'll post my character a little later. The first, oh, 12 or 13 posts will get in (the number might change)

*Disclaimer: this is my first rp, so I'm probably going to make mistakes. I have literally no idea what I'm doing (I don't even know if this rp is going to succeed), so correct me if necessary.*

"Finally." Lady Tremayne surveyed the children in front of her. "Antony, you may leave the room." Antony opened his mouth.
"Is there a problem?" Lady Tremayne looked dangerous. Antony shook his head and left the room, aiming a kick at the back of Trillium's chair and slamming the door behind him.
"Well," said Lady Tremayne. "Now that's settled, we shall talk of the kelpie." There was something in her voice, sharp, dangerous, sonorous.
"In olden times, the kelpie frequented folktales. Folktales which told of a river spirit, bold and dangerous, haunting the lakes and moors." Lady Tremayne smiled hungrily, and in the dimming light her irises were yellow. "Some worshipped the creature; others feared it. And those who feared it did rightly so. The kelpie was dangerous. Often it would drag children and adults alike to their doom beneath the water. It took the form of a beautiful black stallion with waterweed intertwined in its mane and tail.”
“Dramatic,” Trilium muttered, but Lady Tremayne seemed not to have heard. She continued with the tale of the kelpie: “But despite the danger, the kelpie posessed great power. Stories told of its ability to shapeshift, its great strength. But it is not a creature to be tamed. It must only be harnessed. It is wild. It is a beast. It is not intelligent. And so, children, I warn you. Feel no pity for the kelpie. Many have sought it over the years. None have succeeded.”
“Wait,” Belle interrupted. “You want us to-to capture the kelpie? If it even exists,” she added, defiantly.
“Oh, it exists,” Lady Tremayne replied. Her eyes now had a murderous glint to them. “Oh, it exists. And yes, you are quite correct. The kelpie must be captured.”
“So…,” Trilium said. “You want us to do your dirty work. So you can have this thing. For what? Power? Money?”
“Exactly,” Lady Tremayne said. “But I don’t want you to do my work...you will do it. So,” said Lady Tremayne, “I will have Antony escort you to your rooms. A little before 1:00 in tomorrow morning, an escort will show you to another section of the palace. There we will prepare you.”
At ten minutes to 1:00, a knock sounded at the door, which slid open. A young woman slipped into the room. She put a finger to her lips, gesturing for them to follow her out the door.
Fiona started to speak, but the woman put her finger to her lips again, then pointed to something on the window. Belle followed the direction of the point and realized something was embedded in a corner of the windowsil.
A microphone.
The woman gestured once more for them to follow her. The moment they were outside, she began to speak. Her eyes were fearful. “You must follow my orders,” she said, not introducing herself. “It is dangerous.”
“Uh…excuse me, who are you?”
The woman shook her head. “No time for that now. Listen to me. You will go to Lady Tremayne’s labratory. She’s going to show you more of the kelpie, of her experiments. You have to play along, but there is a bookshelf in the back. One of the books has a black spine a green triangle shape on the spine, but no title. Get the book, but don’t open it until you get somewhere safe. It’ll tell you things you need to know. Come on. She’s waiting.”
They followed the woman down the stairs, taking the other door this time, and passed through a series of winding passageways until they came to a door. The woman pointed at it, nodding to them, and slipped away into the shadows of another corridor.
(anyone wondering about the spy...?) Hope you liked it! I’m going on a camping trip, so I won’t be able to post for a few days, sorry (I get back June 30th).

Hope you have a nice camping trip!  We won’t take the RP too far so we don’t go off track again.
