"@AW? @Heroes?" a familiar voice echoes through the void. A light is shining from the dark sky. Startled, I look up. I see illuminated letters, spelling "Humming@AW&Heroes".

"@Humming?" I call out hopefully. "Are you there?"

Before there's any time for a response, another light comes from the sky. This time, it reads "Mary@ all CBers, age feel4wall , there's a locked door".

My excitement growing, I rush through the darkness until I hit something solid. I feel around until my hands grab something protruding from the wall. There's a small hole in the protruding object (which I assume is a doorknob). Thinking quickly, I pull a dagger from my boot and shove it into the hole. Eventually, there's a click, and the door opens. A multicolored light shines from beyond it. I squint at it, trying to catch a glimpse of the other side, but it's so bright that I can't see anything.

"Well, it doesn't matter," I say to myself. "It's obviously the door Mary was talking about. It doesn't matter what's on the other side."

"Win@everyone!" I shout. "I unlocked the door!"

I step through the doorway.

Feline Fantasy, Hummingbird, and Quill waited, waiting to see whether anyone had responded. After about a minute a bright light suddenly flashed in front of them reading "Mary@ all CBers, age feel4wall, There's a locked door". Hummingbird's eyes widened.

"It . . .worked" she breathed. A carrot cake whizzed past her. "Now their are flying cakes, too?"

"We have to feel for the wall!" Quill announced. The trio searched for it eith their hands in front of their faces. Quill found it, and the others did too a moment later.

"Let's find the door" suggested Hummingbird. After a few minutes, Feline Fantasy found it, on her hands and knees. locked.

"Here!" she said. "Does anyone have something we could open it with?" Quill and Humminbird shook their heads.

Jut then, new words flashed before them: "Win@everyone" and, in fainter letters: "I unlocked the door!"

"If this works and others have figured it out to . . ." speculated Quill.

"Than this can be our new form of communication, and can help each other out!" FF said, interrupting her.

"Exactly" said Hummingbird, nodding. "But it looks like people have only managed to do it in the format of the name, age, and location. Feline Fantasy, why don't you give it a try?"

Feline Fantasy thought for a moment. Then she said, in a stage voice, "FF@ all CBers, age Canwetalk?, founddoor w/Humming&Quill"

"FF@ all CBers, age Canwetalk?, founddoorw/Humming&Quill," FF said.

"We have to get this thing open," Hummingbird said, tugging at the doorknob.

Quill swung her foot at the door in an attempt to kick it open. It didn't work. She hopped up and down on one foot, wincing in pain. "Ouch." Another carrot cake flew by, landing a foot away from the door.

"Can we unlock it with a carrot?" FF joked.

"How did Agent Winter do it?" Humming wondered.

"Let's find out." Quill cleared her throat. "Quill@Win, age howdidyou, unlockthedoor?"

Luminescence shrieked in excitement at finding the door. "Ohmygosh this is so much easier than I thought it would be!" she exclaimed Peregrine frowned, her eyes turning red, orange and yellow. "Don't count your chickens before they..."

"It's locked," Mary pointed out. Luminescence sighed. "Just trying to be optimistic," she grumbled. Suddenly, words appeared in the void, which now resembled a night sky bursting with fireworks. Win@everyone, age Classified, I unlocked the door!

"Mary! They got your message!" Lumi cheered. "But how did she do it? There's literally no key to be found. We don't have lockpicks. How...?" Mary asked. "I know!" Peregrine said. "We need to '@AW' so she'll get the message!" Luminescence snapped her fingers appreciatively. "Luminescence@Win, age howdidyou, openthedoor?" she asked excitedly.

Arithmancy, after getting splattered by flying cheesecake, decided that this had to stop. She walked down a reddish glowing hallway, ambient music machine-snakes hissing, until she reached a large round room. In it were two doors the one on the left labeled Mess Hall and on the right Command Central. She laughed a little at this and went through the right door. She was greeted by sounds and smells that made her hair tingle. It was dark. She flipped on a lightswitch. In the center of the room was a...something, metal and pipes and levers and screens. It was guarded by two gleaming metal serpents, both with 'VI' etched on their sides. She highly doubted that they were roman-numeral sevens. They reared to attack her but she placed hands on both their snouts. They recognized their master and stood down.
She walked to the machine and typed into a keypad, "Stop splattering CBers with pie, cake, cookies, or anything else."
A screen responded, "Of course, master."
Then Arithmancy noticed a red button. In bold black type underneath, it read, "Stop Project Void RR." She considered pushing the button.

“Luminescence@Win, agehowdidyou, openthedoor?” Luminescence asked.

Peregrine reached forward and felt for the door knob.  She found it and grabbed it, rubbing her fingers around the handle.  It was hexagonal and strangely warm.  Peregrine could feel something engraved on it.

”There is something engraved on the door knob,” she said.  “Can either of you feel it?  I can’t tell what it is.”  Her eyes changed to a golden brown color.

Majestic Mary reached forward and fumbled for the knob.  Peregrine caught her hand and placed it on top of the engraving.  “It’s there,” Peregrine said.

”I wonder if everyone has an engraving on their door knob?”  Luminescence said.

Peregrine’s eyes turned sea blue in color.  “Let’s ask,” she said.  “Peregrine@Everyone, ageDoYouHave, SomethingOnYourDoorKnob?”

Heroes looked around. She saw glittering letters reading 'Humming@Win&Heroes'

"Okay... well, maybe i can try that?" she said aloud. Then more letters appeared. 'Mary@ All CBers, age feel4wall, theres a locked door' well, there must be one here too. Heroes decided, and she looked around the room where Win and Arithmancy had been. She started to walk, and then bumped into the wall. Scooching along, she grabbed a handle, which was round and smooth-but there was something sticking up from the surface. She ran her hands along the bump and wondered what it might be. then, looking up, a sudden brightness flared and she saw more words: 'Peregrine@Everyone, age DoYouHave, SomethingOnYourDoorKnob?' Heroes decided to try. She screwed up her face in concentration and shouted, "HOO@Peregrine, age Theres, SomethingOnMyDoorToo!"

Then she decided to wait, instead of going through the door that was already open. (courtesy of Win)  Somebody else had to have something on their nob.

And then Heroes looked closer, her fingers feeling the bump-no, it was a letter-one stick going up and another going sideways. wait... thats a T. I wonder if...  (to be continued next post)

And then Heroes looked closer, her fingers feeling the bump-no, it was a letter-one stick going up and another going sideways. wait... thats a T. I wonder if...

She jumped up, excited.
"HOO@Everyone, age IFigured, SomethingOut!" she cried, and then pulled out the note again.
"find the Topping Lair... the doorknobs are a clue!" she said, speaking to no one except for the pie that whizzed toward her and then faded in midair. weird. but okay. she thought, and then reached out. with a burst of confidence, she placed her fingers in the air, imagining there was a keyboard.
she pressed down-and then infront of her, a little circle appeared with two lines in it. there was numbers flitting around the lines. Heroes grinned triumphiantly and brought her fingers apart. one of the lines drew out from a gray square and Heroes kept moving her fingers until the gray square framed the doorknob. She lifted her fingers and watched as her vision flared white then a peice of paper fluttered through the air. She grabbed it and looked at the picture- for she had taken a screenshot of the doorknob. well, she certainly had figured something out-the bump was indeed a T.
Heroes attached the paper to her words, which were fluttering in the air above her head. she took a breath and then blew at the words, watching them fly away, carrying the picture with them. Now to wait... hopefully Peregrine had an O, or even a P. because the doors probably led to the Topping Lair! or maybe everyone had letters on the doorknobs and it spelled out TOP a million times...

Hummingbird, FF, and Quill waited anxiously for a response to Quill's message.

Nothing came from Agent Winter, but other signals lit up the sky.

Luminescence@Win, age Howdidyou, openthedoor? Peregrine@Everyone, age DoYouHave, SomthingOnYourDoorKnob?  HOO@Perigrine, age theres, SomethinOnMyDoorToo!

"Something on the doorknob?" Feline Fantasy said, dubiously.

"Is there?" Quill felt for a moment, then her fingers felt a bump on the smooth knob of the door. "Yes! Yes, I found it!"

"Is it a keyhole? Can we unlock it?" Hummingbird asked hopefully.

Feline Fantasy was still watching the signals. "Hey, HeroesOfOlympus figured something out. What do you think it is? I bet it has to do with the door."

"Is the bump just a bump, or is it something more? It seems kind of random to me." Hummingbird said. She stood up and raked her unruly hair back into its ponytail.

"It's certainly not a lock." Quill said. "It feels more like a button." Feline Fantasy walked over to the door.

"Can we..." FF pressed the bump. A flash of white light illuminated an O ingraved on the button. The O seemed to squirm until it swelled outwards. The light faded, and Hummingbird found herself holding a piece of paper with an O written on it in swirly caligraphy. The paper tugged at her fingers, growing hotter and hotter until she let go and it flew upwards. As they watched, a T, written in the same caligraphy, flashed bright blue. The O joined it, and the two letter flashed again. TO. Then they faded.

"To..." Quill started

"Top."  FF finished.

They stood in silence for a moment, staring up at where the letters had been a moment before. Then they whirled around as they heard a familiar voice.

"I unlocked the door!" The door opened, and Agent Winter stepped through.

"Agent Winter!" Hummingbird cried. "How did you unlock the door? How did you get here?"

AW showed them the dagger. "And I stepped through the doorway and ended up here. There was a big flash and I saw TO in the sky. What just happened?"

They filled her in as best as they could.

"So, does the door lead back to your room now?" Quill asked.

"Not sure." AW said. "I think, maybe, it's kindof like a portal. Maybe we can meet up with the rest of the Chatterboxers."

"Good idea." FF said. "Let's try it."

"Wait," Hummingbird said. "I'll sent a message. Humming@Everyone, age WeHaveAW, WeAreComingNow!"

"That should do it." Quill said. "Now let's try that door."

The door still hung open. Agent Winter led the way, followed by Quill, then Hummingbird and Feline Fantasy. They stepped through the door.

I'm lying in my bed, looking around in the Inkwell, when I click on a thread. It says Anyone wanna do...

Suddenly, I'm falling down fron my bed. I scream, and it echoes in a kind of void type thing. I'm being pulled in many different directions. I grit my teeth and try to stay in one place, but I'm whisked to the left, and then dragged to the right . . . tears leak from my eyes.

Then, I see a burst of light, and then another, and another, like fourth of July fireworks. I deduce that we're using name, age, and location to communicate messages, and there are teams of three CBers. I call, strangled, "Word Song@Everyone, age anyone, want me on their team?"

Glowing green words lit up the sky.  “Hummingbird@Everyone, ageWeHaveAW, WeAreComingNow!”

“Uhg, how did they get out?” Mary said.

”I wish I knew,” Peregrine answered.

Luminescence had her hand on the door knob.  She was rubbing her hand along the bumps.  A strait line and a curved line.  “I know what this is!” she said.  “It’s a P!”

There was a small click and the door swung open.  Mullticolored light flooded the room.  Almost blinding Majestic Mary, Luminescence, and Peregrine.

“It’s open!” said Mary.

”I wonder what is out there,” Peregrine said.  Her eyes turned purple.

”Peregrine@Everyone, ageOurDoorIs, Open.WeAreComing!” she announced.

Just then more glowing letters light up the sky, this time blue.  “WordSong@Everyone, age anyone, want me on their team?”

“You are welcome to join our team,” Peregrine said.

”The more the merrier!” Luminescence added.

The echoes of voices sang through the void, accompanied by flashes of light. Arithmancy was enjoying the feel of a night just before a thunderstorm.

"Ow!" A voice cried. Mary, Luminescence, and Peregrine turned around.

"Who's there?" Peregrine asked.

"It's me, WordSong," the voice replied.

"WordSong!" Mary said. "You're just in time - we're about to go through this mysterious door that should lead us out of this dark room into the light of the ChatterBox void and we may possibly discover the topping lair."

"What??" WordSong cried. "None of what you just said made sense."

"How about we  leave, and we'll explain later," Lumi suggested.

So the four CBers stepped through the door, shielding their eyes from the bright light that shined in.

"We're out, what now?" WordSong asked.

"We could try @ing other CBers to see where they are, maybe?" Mary pondered. Then, as if on cue, there was a series of clicks as an abundance of doors opened, and the rest of the CBers came tumbling out.

"Hey, everyone!" Peregrine shouted excitedly. There was a ripple of happy chatter, as the CBers were all very happy to be together again. But soon they realized that they still had to find the topping lair, and their minds were once again set on the mission. They looked around at where they were - it was a dead end, with nine doors on the wall, and a grand hallway leading away from the dead end. The area in which they were standing was bright with multicolored light, and the colors down the hallway changed between light, dark, and light again.

"I guess that's our only way out," Mary said, so the CBers started running down the hallway, their heads spinning with all the dofferent colors of light, but they were determined. They kept running until they came to another dead end - this one was relatively dark, but they could just make out the shape of a door on the wall.

"I guess we open it?" Quill said.

"There's nothing else we can do," Win replied, and she took the doorknob and turned it.

The CBers filed in until they were all in the room  - twice. The CBers rubbed their eyes, confused. Inside the roo, was a long meeting table, the CBers, and the CBer's doppelgängers, just slightly taller. They were all wearing name tags, and Mary read some of the names out loud.

"Agent WinTOP? MajesTOP Mary? LuminTOP? HeroesOfOlymTOP?"

"I didn't even know I had a topping name," Heroes said.

"Well, we obviously found the topping lair." Said Mary. "So what now?"

Sudennly, the topping dopplegangers pointed in unison towards someone in the back.

"TOP" they said in unison, and the word appeared, glowing like the messages that the CBers had used to communicate. This time, though, some of the CBers noticed something new: faint, glowing, spirit-like things with name tags that said "admin" put up the words. Then, the spirits - no, the admins - flew off to the person whom the Topper had pointed to: Feline fantasy, who had been trailing a few feet behind the others. THe admins carried her up to everyone else.

"Oh, wow, thanks admins" said Feline Fantasy, surprised.

"So, are these, like, the physical toppers?" Peregrine wondered. "Like, they can ask the admins to physically carry things to the front?"

"I guess." said Heroes. "Where's Arithmany? I saw her at the beginning, but not since."

"Same" Agent Winter added. the CBers looked around for her, but she wasn't among them.

"Maybe I could @ her?" FF suggested.

(I will continue later, gotta go! sorry.)
