In the world of Maisilluie (may SUE ill EEE), the land is separated into different clans of a tribe. It may seem like a basic world split into tribes, but no. It goes much further then that. There are six clans, to form the tribe of Maliu. There is also the royal Lemni, which are the Monarch's personal guards. The Monarch is the queen leader of the clans, and she is a woman with the gifts of every clan. Now you may think, what gifts? Well, every clan is born with a magical gift of powers. it depends on what tribe you are, to have certain powers. here are the tribes and their locations and powers:

The Mohaken live in the mountains, and have powers consisting of snow and ice.

The Lehite live in the tropical islands and boats,  and have the powers of the sea and tropical growing.

The Clayolm live in the dry deserts and swamplands, and have the powers of sand and clay.

The Egilis live in the lush jungles, and have the powers of animals and woodweaving.

The Leavez live in the forests and have the power of nature.

The Airel live on a cliff high in the clouds, and have the power of air.

~~~
I figured Clayolm wouldn't be as popular as the ice/snow/air ones. I don't think anyone noticed, but as soon as I saw the Clayolm description I imagined a very sunny yet windy plain, which is why Nevica Sole literally means "Windy Sunny" in Italian. Very creative, I know XD
~Layora~
Layora awoke to the sound of sizzling fish, being grilled one room over. she sat up and stretched her arms, staring out at the beautiful beach that she lived on. pulling on her dress, she unlatched her door and went out into the kitchen/living room. her mom was weaving a blanket of thick wool she bought at the market, and her dad was slicing a big, cooked fish onto plates.
her mother looked  up and smiled, as she grabbed her satchel and ran outside. Layora pressed her and to the overflowing vine of flowers, and quickly made a new one before moving on. jumping on to her canoe parked on the shore, she released the peg and glided through the gentle waves. pulling the sail tighter, she stuck the paddle in the water and swerved right to a coral reef, filled with all types of fish.
she dropped the peg and dived into the water, summoning an air bubble to stick around her mouth. she took a shallow test breath - all good - and swam  down to a small crevice in the coral. Must be out hunting, if he's not here. Layora thought. she swam on, saying hello to fish that passed her by. she blew up a cloud of bubbles to say Hello it's me! Back. she smiled to herself and asked the waves if they could part so they could walk in between the walls of water. As the sandy floor was revealed, she walked around the reef and into the opening, watching all the fish avoid the edge of the water. she let the water mold back together, and swam to the top. she hopped back on her boat and pulled up the peg and sailed back to the shore. she hopped off the boat and buried the peg in the ground, and went back to her hut. opening the door, the smell of grilled fish entered her system, and made her sit down at her place at the table, shoveling the fish in her mouth, chewing, and swallowing.
Lets get this show on the road!
☁︎ Faii ☁︎
Faii was scared.
So, utterly, horribly scared.
The sucking sound surrounded them, pushing and pulling until they fell-
“Gods of the Sea, having ANOTHER nightmare?” the voice jarred Faii out of their personal torture, along with the smell of fish.
“No. Why… Why do you ask?” Faii vaulted off the top bunk, landing neatly on the shag carpet below. Their oldest brother (and roommate) Jinyi was, again, whittling away at the cluttered desk.
“You were making that noise. The groaning, screaming noise that wakes me up EVERY NIGHT.”
“Jeez, Jinyi, I don't mean to!” Faii busied themselves with their tunic, tying the long blue rope around their waist with a fisherman's knot.
“I know you don't. Remember you can tell me anything, okay?” Jinyi’s tone softened and he looked up from the half-finished wooden dolphin.
“Okay.” The room went quiet. Finally Jinyi got up and grabbed Faii’s hand, swinging their arm like a pendulum.
“Wanna go eat?” He asked.
“Sure.” Faii said, so the two walked out of the room and down the corridor. Their home (The faithful ship Waverunner) was currently anchored on a long reef with several other boats. There was a family living on one of the islands, but they let the boats stay in the reef for as long as needed. Generous people.
The hallway ended in a wood-paneled room crowded with tables that, like the rest of the boat, smelled like fish. The room was also full of brown-haired people, who were currently yelling at each other. Jinyi winced and drifted towards the door, but Faii was tired of the same old thing and stepped into the chaos.
“What’s for breakfast?” Faii asked, already knowing the answer but wanting to loosen the tension.
“Fish.” Mini responded, slamming a tray down on the table.
“EVERYBODY EAT!” She screamed, and the room quieted slightly. Fish was grabbed and scowls vanished as the whole d’Larii clan ate breakfast.
“Well, fam, what's the schedule?” Jinyi asked through a mouth of trout.
“We have hull repairs to do. The blasted divers led us into a coral wall!”
“Too bad. I'm going to go trade with the locals, does anyone need anything?”
"YES!" "Me!" "I need fish!" "A pound of lettuce!" Jinyi patiently wrote down the shouted orders while Faii formulated a plan in their head.
“Hey, Jin, can I come with you?” Faii asked, using the only nickname Jinyi allowed.
“Sure, Faii. Bring a bag.”
“Thanks.”
Out in the brilliant sunlight, with the turquoise waves dancing, Faii felt comfortable. Their plan was in motion, and the next step was to meet those locals.
“C’mon, little sib, let's head out.” Jinyi called, throwing a brown bag over his shoulder. Faii waited till he turned his back, then grinned softly. Today was the day.
Fawn
*
Fawn woke up far before the sun peeked the yellow tip of it's head over the horizon-not that Fawn would be able to see the sunrise, anyway. There were far too many trees. She fanned last night's coals into a flickering flame, then went about her morning chores, gathering water and putting food to cook on a flat stone over the fire. Angel woke up and, within moments, was bounding around as if she'd woken up hours ago. "How do you do it?" Fawn muttered groggily. The long-legged creature tilted her head to one side inquistively and said in a sing-song voice, "Do what?" "Wake up and be like that!" Fawn waved her hand in her animal friend's direction. "Oh, that! I don't know. I think it's probably just a deer thing," the little creature replied. Fawn shook her head in mock amazement and turned back to the food she'd placed over the fire, scooping it into a wooden bowl and shoveling in mouthfuls until she'd gulped it all down. "Today's a food-gathering day," she reminded Angel as she rolled up her bear-hide quilt and tucked it into a niche in a large rock. The deer bounced up and down excitedly. "Oh, goody!" she exclaimed. Fawn turned to look at her and shook her head. "You know," she said, "it never fails to amaze me how optimistic and excitable you can be." Angel shook her head, repeating the girl's gesture. Then the pale-brown fawn snuffled, sneezed, and shook her whole body. Then she bounded straight up into the air, and then into the woods, calling behind her, "Get the baskets! I found a blackberry patch yesterday!" Fawn turned to grab the reed-baskets and to follow her friend. After an excursion therough the thick forest in which Angel was constantly several bounds in front of Fawn, they reached a thick, bramble-y blackberry patch. Fawn wrinkled her nose, wondering if it was worth pushing through thorns to get to the berries, but then she remembered how good sweet, tart, purple-juiced blackberries tasted, and she waded into the thicket of bushes, sharp spikes scraping against her bare ankles. The end result was several baskets stained purple and full of the berries, and Fawn's ankles looking as if an ocelot had attacked her. Although, to be completely honet, nothing in these woods would ever attack her. And on this side of the woods, there weren't any ocelots. Fawn and Angel went back to camp, Fawn considerably more weighed down than she had been before. "Well," she said to Angel when they'd reached the large clearing they called home, "that was a good morning's work!" Angel smiled sloppily up at her friend, her mouth stained purple from all the blackberries she'd eaten. Then, Fawn lifted a large skein of water from in her stone shelter and dabbed it on the scratches on her ankles. She smiled ruefully at Angel as she stood up and grabbed a crude metal pan, crushing blackberries and dumping them inside, crumbling stale bread on top, and putting it over the fire. The warmth of the day made Fawn and Angel happy and content.
Iclyn
--------------
Iclyn woke up with the sun as usual and went for a jog with her little brother Olwen. Olwen was thirteen so naturally he was never as fast as Icyln but today something was different. Normally she waited for him to catch up. However today something was on her mind. "ICLYN! Wait up!" Ben called "Oh yeah of course sorry" Icyln said hurriedly. Her mind was occupied, her parents had been grilling her into the late of the night on how her powers weren't developing fast enough. "Just because you were the strongest of the strong doesn't mean I have to be!" She thought, getting angry at just the thought of her parents trophies and awards. Olwen caught up panting, "Sheesh Iclyn! Slow down!". "Sorry Olwen'' She said absentmindedly. They made their way back to the huts where they grabbed thermos of hot cocoa. "Thanks Grandma" Olwen said. He quickly elbowed Iclyn, urging her to say thanks before their grandmother got mad and told their parents. "Oh thanks Grandma January" She said quickly. Iclyn went up to her room to prepare for the day where her parents were waiting. She heaved a sigh. "Yes Mother? Yes Father?" "What was your time on your run with Olwen this morning?" Her father asked. "Only three minutes per a mile Father '' She answered trying to hide her hatred for the pressure they put on her. "Hmph, your Father and I were doing three minutes by the time we were Olwen's age". "I'm sure you were" Iclyn murmured. "What was that Iclyn?" Her father said sharply. "Nothing Father"
Sorry it's so short!
YES WE'RE ALIVE!!!!
~Layora~
She placed her plate in the sink reminding herself  she would have to scrub it later, but she went back into her room and sat down at her small desk, grabbing a piece of paper and a stick of charcoal, rubbing the tip on the end, forming the shape of an octopus. the neighbor on the boats had kept their distance, and hadn't bothered the coral reef, which was good. Layora added on the suction cups on the tentacles, and shaded the corners lightly.
A splash filled her ears and she quickly sat up and walked over to the window. there was a small rowing boat, bobbing around in the clear water, and two people climbing on and  detaching the rope from the big boat. they rowed inland, towards the big cluster of islands that made up their village. there was one enormous island making a circle around the other islands, and it had a gap in the center so travelers and Lihiteans could pass through. she let out her breath, which she had been holding, and went back to her desk, adding the soft gleam to the eyes. She set the paper aside, Layora went to her trunk at the foot of her bed and unlatched it, sorting the clatter that filled it. Pulling out a telescope, she went outside and climbed up into a palm tree, positioning herself and the telescope.
She lodged the telescope into a slot between two branches and weaved her body into the tree, and in no time she was completely camouflage with half her body the dark rustic color of the branches, the other half light blue like the sky or the soft tan of the sand. Putting her eye to the rim of the telescope, she focused it on the boats and peered out. The boats were called the Sunsetter, the Calloway, the Waverunnner, The Pressure Jump, and the Catapult. She zoomed in on the Waverunner, where the two teens had came from, and focused on some movement which was people scrubbing and fixing up the houle. Bits of stuff were flaking off the boat, and in horror she saw they were pieces of coral. NO! Her mind screamed. She looked over to the reef and nearly fell out of the tree. It was partly destroyed, and those idiots weren't doing anything about it! She wrenched the telescope out of the nook, pressed her fingers to heal the scratches in the bark and leaped off the tree and vaulted into the water, leaving the telescope on the beach. Her leg pumped furiously and she swam down to the reef, desperately trying to get there before it was too late.
Fawn~
The comfort didn't last for long. It never did. Nearly twice a year, on seemingly random occasions,  both the Egilis and the Leavez sent out patrols to the heart of the forest, and Fawn and Angel would have to move out hastily. Fawn's gut instincts told her that the patrols would be sent out sometime this week, so she sent Angel to scout near the Egilis camp to listen and try to find out when the patrols would be coming. While the deer was gone, Fawn hurriedly made the camp ready for a quick pack-up-and-leave. Angel came back with the news that, as always, Fawn was right, and the patrols would be sent out in two days' time. Fawn nodded to her friend. "I suspected as much," she muttered as she stood up and looked around the camp, admiring her work. "We'll be able to move quickly. Will we have enough time to get to the Hill if we leave tomorrow night?" Angel gave a wide smile and said, "Sure, Fawn! We'll have plenty of time." Fawn gave the deer a quick frown, wondering what the smile was all about. "Did you find something, Angel?" she asked. The little deer's smile grew wider. "I found wild strawberries!" she said happily. Fawn smiled. "Is it a large patch?" she wondered aloud. The fawn nodded vigorously just as there was an ominous rustle from the trees around. "What..." Fawn loked up and around, perplexed, just as there was a loud scream. Fawn screamed, too, as a brown-and blue figure hurtled downward from a tree at the edge of the clearing. Vines shot up from the ground and grabbed the figure before it hit the ground. Fawn opened her eyes and looked at what her vines had caught. It was a freckled, brown-haired boy wearing a blue shirt and a pair of muddy, ratty jeans. He was staring, open-mouthed and wide-eyed, at Fawn. "H-how did you... how did you do that?" he stammered. "How d-did you do.. this?" He gestured at the vines that were suspending him above the dirt. Fawn's mouth was gaping, too. "Oh, no," she muttered, "oh, no, oh, no, ohhhhh no." The boy was shaking, shivery, and pale, but he wasn't too frightened to look interestedly at Fawn. However, Fawn didn't say anything else. Her eyes darted between her hands, the boy, the vines, Angel, and the camp. "Angel," she said finally, "we have to leave." the boy looked around for whoever Fawn was talking to. Then he saw the deer. His eyes, already impossibly large, grew even wider. "Are you... talking to that deer?" he said incredulously. Years of reading action and mystery books snatched from villages and travelers caused Fawn to overreact hilariously. "You," she growled, "are in no position to ask questions right now." The boy seemed to shrink backwards. "Angel," Fawn said again, "what are we going to do with him?" Angel said, only heard by Fawn, "Leave him. No one will believe him. Let's just go." Her face was much more grim than it normally was. Fawn nodded. "Well," she sighed, looking all around her, "I'll miss you all." Groans, whuffs and many other animalistic sounds emanated from the woods around, which Fawn interpreted as many different forms of good-bye. Then, she threw a knife towards the boy. "You'll be able to free yourself eventually," she said. "Let's go, Angel."
*
Many days later, Fawn groaned. "Angel," she muttered, "pass me that jar of blackberry juice." Angel complied, and Fawn drank deeply. "How close do you think we are?" she asked. "Around two hours, I'd say," the deer said in her sing-song voice. Fawn groaned again. "We've been traveling for days," she complained, "and our food is starting to run low! I wish we could just be in the Lehite lands already." Angel sighed and lowered her nose to the soft, white beach-sand. "I do, too," she admitted, going to dip her sandy nose in the turquoise sea. "Well, it sure looks like we're there," Fawn said, looking up at the clear, crystalline blue sky. Angel nodded, panting in the sunshine.
~
Fawn was nowhere near anyone else's charries! I wanted to move her.
