Author Solo Write (Part Two)

It is late again. It's almost always late at night when these things happen, the scary, terrible, wonderful things that change your life forever. You are lying in your bed, trying over and over again to fall asleep. The curtains are open, and moonlight is streaming in, silvery and liquid. You have never been able to fall asleep with the curtains shut, not since you were a tiny baby. Even now, it is hard to sleep without the moon. On cloudy nights and new moons, you toss and turn for hours. Now, though, something else is wrong. A feeling of foreboding crawls into you mind, just as a cloud drifts over the silvery orb in the sky, and you shiver, reaching for the book on your nightstand. Looking at the grey, clothbound cover of your collector's edition, you have to smile a little.

There are only ten copies of this edition, bound in silvery silk and autographed by Allen Underwood himself. When you got the email this morning from Sunny Meadows Publishing Company, you could hardly believe it. You, out of all the readers of their products, were chosen to recieve this book. True, you already own multiple copies, but this one, with it's moon colored cover, is special. And now, for the first time, you open it.

The book is perfect, of course, with the loveliest endpapers you have ever seen. With a feeling of anticipation, you flip to the first page, expecting to see the familiar words. "At 11:45 on June 28th, there was already a small crowd gathered around the main office of Sunny Meadows Publishing Company."

Instead, you find a letter.

Dear Reader,

Many years ago, when I was a younger man, still a teenager, really, I wrote a collection of poetry. On the night that I finished it, a night much like this one, I recieved a letter from a woman named Kytleen Marsh, offering to publish it. As you might imagine, I could not resist this mysterious offter, and, on June 28th, I did as was asked of me.

But you know all of this. You have read my book. What I have to tell you is this: It is true. Every bit of it. Over the course of one day, I met and lost eight people, the people who would become my first true friends. Saylor Swallow, Iduna Vance, Myra Ellis, Recon Elterbert, Katherine Ellis, Altoos Peregrine, Clay Dier, and Lola Sage. They were lost to me.

I am asking you to help me find them.

On the 25th of February, please report to the front gates of Sunny Meadows Publishing Company. You know where it is.

And bring the book.

Yours gratefully,

Allen Underwood

You brush your fingers over the smooth, pearly-white page.

It could be dangerous. It could be a trap.

But it will be worth it.

You should have felt my heart leap when I saw this was Author Solowrite part 2.  I am so excited to read this through!

Name: Ryan Nocnersin

Age: 16

Gender/pronouns: Male, he/him/his

Appearance: Gray-brown eyes and dark brown hair which usually has aa slightly tosseled look to it.  Tall and thin. Wears faded (but not ragged) jeans and uniquely patterned button up t-shirts.

Personality: Likes conversing with other people as long as they are interesting and don't talk too much.  Usually very open, friendly, and willing to share anything with someone who needs help.  An observer but doesn't usually share what he observes unless asked.  At times for no apparent reason he will become introverted and easily annoyed.  Though these spells do not last for long.  Makes friends with all kinds of people with no effort.  Is very loyal to the friends he makes and forgives easily.

Background/history: His father works all day as a security guard in a museum and his mother is a lawyer in high demand.  So he is usually left to himself.  His parents care for him very much and spend the little free time they have with him.  His days are spent mostly in the library, around his neighborhood with friends, and in museums.  He is facinated by geneology and has descovered Rencon Elterbert is his cousin.

Luggage: Two Authors book (the special copy and a beat one), spare clothes and hygiene items.  A laptop, his geneology notebooks, and a collection of pencils, pens, erasers, and drawing devices (ruler, protracter, etc.).

What color/pattern are the endpapers of your book? Please make sure that it is different for each character: A dark silvery blue which looks solid when looked at directly.  But only when looked at sideways and very closely do a silvery tree and stars in strange constellations which look like letters and words in an ancient language become apparent.

Shipping: Not interested.

Other: Enjoys sketching and has a skill for catching the feeling or movement in whatever he is drawing.

Sweet! I was worried for a second that the spot I reserved got taken.... also I read through your first solowrite, and I loved it! The writing was amazing, great job!

If you ever want to publish it, you could totally use like Blurb or something.. I know Micearenice used Blurb or something like that form to publish her 'Farm Story' and 'Lake Lellilo' story.

Anyways, here's my character!

Name: Lilliana A. Fae (The 'A' stands for Audrey) Goes by 'Lily' or 'Audrey'

Age: 17, she just barely turned 17 though

Gender/Pronouns: She/her/hers (female)

Appearance: Average height, 5' 4", Blue/green eyes that have little brown and gold flecks in them which appear to sparkle especially when she smiles. Fiery red hair with brown streaks, so it looks more dark copper than red now. Wears brown boots with a buckle and carries an old leather satchel over her shoulder. Pencil behind her ear.

Personality: She's not shy, but she is very reserved when you first meet her. However, if you talk  to her about something she's passionate about, (such as a 'ship' or a new book series, or a similar interest in a TV show,) then she'll open up and talk for HOURS. XD Laughs at random things, but if you get her to laugh for real, then she'll become a loyal friend. Very imaginative and curious, (which can get her in a pickle sometimes) She thinks in pictures, if that makes sense. Meaning when she wants to describe something to someone, (such as how she feels) she describes it in a picture so not only she understands, but hopefully others understand as well. Protective of her friends and family.

Background/history: She is now the oldest of 5, and she had an older brother (Aaron) who she adored, however, when she was 15, she lost her older brother in a car crash. So now she is terrified of driving. Whenever she gets behind the wheel, or even thinks too much about it, she freezes up, and can't drive or do much anything.

She found out when she was 15 that she is on the spectrum for being autistic, so she is still struggling to accept that as a part of herself. She describes it as: 'playing tug of war with someone who is me, but isn't me.'

Being autistic made her a target of bullying during her freshman year of high school, because of the weird things she did (such as rocking back and forth to calm herself down.) So, she now homeschools.

Luggage: Her phone, the book, lots of pencils, her notebook, change of clothes, her camera, her satchel bag, her glasses (that she doesn't HAVE to wear, they're optional), some hair claw clips for her favorite hairstyle (messy bun,) her favorite necklaces (necklaces are all book related or in the shape of a heart) and lots of earrings.

What color/pattern are the endpapers of your book: Lavender/lilac with very faint pink roses that sparkle as if they have glitter on them and appear rose gold on the background of the lavender/lilac pages

Shipping: Yes please, but only with boys around her age. (So if they're 16, that's fine.) Most of the time she's the one 'shipping' others though.

Other: Speaks french fluently and often incorporates random french phrases in her everyday speak, such as 'vraiment?' (which means really) or 'quoi?' (which means 'what')  HUGE HOPELESS ROMANTIC. Loves 'shipping' others, and loves reading romance novels. Detests swearing. Nervous habit is rocking back and forth when stressed, but it helps calm her down. Obsessed with the color purple. Enjoys Broadway musicals. Also, because she's autistic she sometimes says something without thinking first, and she has a hard time 'reading the room,' so jokes and teasing are hard for her to understand sometimes because she takes it as an offense or an 'attack.' (Hence if you get her to laugh for REAL, then she'll become a loyal friend.)

Sorry for the long post.... anyways. Let me know if I need to change anything! So excited for this to start!

A couple more things to add to my charrie: Will used to be very popular bc his best friend was, but after he passed away he couldn't keep that up anymore and became a bit more reclusive- that's when he started writing

@Joan B. of Arc and @Allen Underwood, do you wanna ship Lily and Will? Ofc that's for the writer to decide, but it's a suggestion.

Yes! I think that would be super cute!!! Of course it's up to the author, but I'd be up for that! (Especially if their relationship starts off a bit rocky or maybe they don't like each other at first or maybe Will is the only one who can make Lily laugh....... ooh! The possibilities of what the author could do!!!!)

But yes, I think that would be super cute. :)

Oh, one more thing I wanted to add to my character:

Because she is so imaginative, she writes down every single idea she had for a story in her notebook that she always carries around with her. (Hence why the pencil behind her ear, because most likely an idea will pop into her head at any moment.)
Also, in the front of her notebook is a picture of her brother that passed away and her together and they're both smiling.
