Tag Game!

Tag Game!

Has anyone heard of a tag game? It's when someone starts a story and then tags someone else to continue the story. It's really fun! Also, please note that we don't start a new story every time a person gets tagged.

Can you please sign up, too? It will help so we can get people in the tag game. I'll write everyone down in the order they sign up in. No personal information is required except your name on Chatterbox.

Here are the rules:

#1. If you go by two or more names on Chatterbox, please pick one so that we don't have one person having double turns or more.

#2. If you sign up, please make sure that you participate.

#3. No negative comments are allowed, but I'm pretty sure the admins will take care of that. :)

#4. When you tag someone, make sure that you are not tagging the same person over and over unfairly.

Feel free to comment on people's work, and you can join whenever you want! :)

Have fun!

Quick question, do you want my part to be the last part or do you want another part to act as the final ending and tie up more loose ends?

"Wow...Delfer's a bit of a mess right now, isn't it?" Crieff commented. Currently, the group were standing in front of a local village, and although most of it was intact, there were a few buildings that had missing bits and pieces.

"What would you expect from a kingdom with its queen missing for...how long has it been?" Ardie asked, counting on her fingers. "Nevermind. Either way, I'd be surprised if it was functioning just like before."

"There could've been a natural disaster here," Xavier mused. "It might not be just because of the Ordinary."

"Maybe," Akhalia said, looking doubtful. "But they definitely did something to the state of the palace and ruling. We should head to the palace right now to ease the current situation." She had already begun sounding more queenly now that she was back in Delfer.

"Right on," Gruff replied.

And with that plan, the group headed over to the palace along the main roads, and finally, after what seemed like hours upon hours of walking, the palace was within view.

When they arrived at the main palace entrance, Crieff cautiously lifted up his hand, curled his fingers into a fist, and knocked. Twice. Three times. At the third time, the giant door swung open on its hinges with a creak. At the door was someone who looked to be both a guard and someone of the Ordinary.

"We're not allowing-" the guard started, but stopped as Ardie came forward.

"Let us in if you know what's good for you," Ardie said, a glowing flame in her hand.

The guard nodded, dropped their gaze to the ground, and stepped back, allowing them to pass. They stepped inside, the flame still in Ardie’s hand, though she extinguished it after they were out of sight from the guard. Now, the group surveyed the scene around them. Rather empty, actually, besides a few people who looked like they were part of the Ordinary walking around. When there were people, the group stuck to the shadows and hid themselves before continuing.

Akhalia took the lead, taking the group over to a door only slightly smaller than the enormous entrance door. There was a golden dragon with eagle wings carved at the top of the door, the symbol of Delfer. Akhalia took a golden key from within her pocket and inserted the key into the keyhole, turning it and unlocking the door, which came open with a loud creak.

Crieff peered inside the room that the door led into. It was a simple flight of stairs. Akhalia motioned for the group to follow her as she went up the stairs with practiced ease.

At the end of the stairs was another door, this time smaller. Akhalia once again pulled out a key, a blue one that looked like it was made of diamonds this time, and opened the door cautiously. Ardie held out a flame in her hand, while Crieff, Xavier, and Gruff drew their weapons. What would they be facing behind that door? Would there be more Ordinary to fight? Definitely, thought Crieff.

The door slowly opened, and the sight awaited them in the room—no one. Surprised, Crieff rushed inside, trying to see if there were any Ordinary members hiding behind the chairs, tables, shelves, anything. But no. There was no one to be found.

“I…I…where are they?” Ardie asked, sounding uncertain for once.

“They must’ve heard the news that we’d be coming,” Xavier said. “And so the Ordinaries fled before they could come in touch with us. Cowards.” Xavier shook his head at that last word.

“The good news is that we don’t have to do more fighting though,” Akhalia said, nodding. “No more bloodshed. But there’s still a lot of work to do to get Delfer back in shape again. For one, we need to go through all the-”

“So maybe we can talk about those cottages by the sea,” Crieff said, interrupting Akhalia as she was about to go into a long speech.

Xavier broke into a smile, before laughing. Ardie soon joined in, then Gruff, and finally Akhalia. Everyone was laughing, the tensions and worries gone. Gruff chuckled and said, “Alright, alright! I can make a few arrangements!”

~ The End ~

I really hope I did this story justice with the ending. Are there any loose ends I missed?

It's beautiful!!!! I love it! *sigh*.... I can't believe it's been practically two years since this story began to be written.

I think we had said that Crieff and Elise (a mysterious character who appeared once or twice in the previous parts) were going to end up together? Other than that, though, you wrapped up all the loose ends, I think. You finished the story so well! :)

I was informed by Lyric that the Tag Game has come to an end.

I am SO sorry for not posting the part that I said I was going to post. Apparently, I was presented with an essay to write during Christmas Break to get into a special school, and it needed to be absolutely perfect...I am SO SORRY!!

BUT, i'm so proud of everyone for staying faithful to this tag game even though I disappeared for months and then came back and then disappeared.  I read the ending to the tag game and I think that everyone did such a great job. I'm so glad we were able to wrap up the loose ends and hopefully in the future, we can do a sequel tag game for this story. But I think this amazing story needs a title. Since I disappear forever at random times, you CBers in here can all collab on the title. And maybe someone wants to design a book cover? Idk. It's your guys' choice because I know I'm going to disappear again.

CONGRATS EVERYONE!!

-Rora

P.S. Wouldn't it be so cool if when we grow up and we're all adults we come across a Cricket magazine with the tag game story in it? That would be the best nostalgia ever.

Oh my gosh, it's finished?? After two years??? I left because of too many other things to do (and also, partly, because I had Hopes for Ardie and Crieff and wasn't sure about Ardie/Akhalia) - but I've still been following it, and I've grown so fond of the characters :) Great work, everyone! Thank you for continuing and bringing them safe through to a happy ending... It turned out wonderful!

Should we start another one now? o_0

Yesss we should definitely write another one!!! A sequel or a different story? Personally I kind of want to make a sequel, maybe with new characters and focusing on something completely different but still in Delfer.

And I also can't believe its finished! :) it felt surreal writing the ending tbh

Ofc! Yep its a good idea to write another story. @everyone, should we do a sequel or something different?

Sequels are hard, based on some experience, so it might be easier to write another story. I don't really have the time to take on the commitment to help with that right now, so it's really up to everyone who wants to write another Tag Game, but just saying...sequels are hard.

Sequels are pretty hard from my experience, unless you have a good idea of what you're doing. Though unless anyone has any ideas for the sequel, I think we can just do another story. What does everyone think?
