Lav's TAPM! In

Lav's TAPM! In digging up the thread where Ema and I did our TAPM story, I found a post by GloWorm saying she needed to stop overseeing TAPM and thus that it was going to die. I had a great time with Ema in our story, so I would like to give everyone else the chance to do this again. I will try to be as faithful as GloWorm was with pairing and making threads. Same thing - post a small sample of your work or a link to a thread here with your work. Include the genre you'd like to go for and, if you like, a partner you want. I'll pair you up and spur you on to greatness. :D I'm rather more casual than GloWorm was, so most anything will go. While it would be nice if you would post your samples in the genre you want to work in, I won't send Them after you if you don't. Cheery-ho!

I'm up for the pairing, of course, although I will not pick someone unless they pick me first. I won a web poetry contest here with this poem, "Summer Song."

With a flutter and a whisper
Evening Wind comes lisping by
While her brother, Dreaming Shadow,
Waits to claim the dimming sky.
Shaking leaves and dancing branches
Move in harmony as one;
By these gentle, softened touches
We can know that Day is done.

I am open to any genre. For a story I wrote (part of on the first one), add /node/27193 to the inkwell address or /node/21981. Sorry - I don't want to wake up my brother to remind me how to do hyperlinks.

Cheers,

lavendershy

Me neither. Did you make it?

I'm fine with being put with Meadow, if she's okay with it. Sorry I haven't been able to find a writing sample to put up. :(

Maybe I could make both?  But it has to be OK with you and ZNZ.  Um...  since ZNZ has said that she's fine with writing a story with me, then I'll make the 'Meadow and ZNZ' thread.  I would like to write a poem with you; if you want to, then you can make the thread.

*sigh* *is wondering if she can be honorary TAPM pair-matcher when Lav can't do it* Sorry... I need to be useful. :)

(My old partner has not shown up in over a month, and if she returns and wants to finish our story, I will gladly go back, but I still want to do this.)

Genre: Fantasy, but Science Fiction works too

Sample:

Silently gliding through the forest, the huntress followed the tracks of an injured doe.  Normally she would not hunt an animal sacred to the Godess Artemis, but her family was on the brink of starvation and she had no choice.  This was what she told herself as she followed the tracks deeper into the menacing woods.  She pretended not to notice the darkening caused by the thick black branches above, or the trees rustling as she approached.  Think of your family she reminded herself.  They are all that matter.

She did not enjoy the hunt, but it was necessary for survival.  Her brothers were to weak to lift the bow, and her sisters were either married or too "delicate" to hunt.  Besides, she had made sure that no one knew her passion for the arts.  The forest was the only place she had absolute solitude, to reveal to the animal world her gift.  Birds would respectfully fall silent, vixen would pause in the hunt to her her tune, the world would fall silent.  Yes, the forest was a haven.  But not today.

She tripped on an overgrown root, straight into the brambles.  She did not cry out.  She would scare off the doe.  She could feel that she was nearing her quarry.  Not long after, she spotted the doe.  The creature almost certainly had broken its left hind leg, making this kill more of an act of mercy than than of desperation.  The doe had collapsed on the mossy ground and was barely moving.  The huntress killed it cleanly, but as she was preparing the body for the long walk home, Artemis appeared before her.  She did not look happy.

Hi Megan! Would you want to go with me if your old partner doesn't show up? :D

I'd be glad too!  Sadly, my partner hasn't replied in months, so until I hear from her again, I'll assume she has just left for an uncertain period of time.  I do mostly fantasy about Greek mythology and myths in general, but I would love to try my hand at science fiction too!  (I am beginning to suspect that Mary Liz has instilled in me an obsession with ray guns!)  I just really need to get the creative writing juices flowing again, because school is slowly making me insane.  (Well, more insane than I already was.)

Okay, that'd be great! :) Maybe we could do some science-fiction-y type of fantasy Greek mythology or something... If that is possible. :) School's making me insane, too (Science was just /lovely/ today. *whistles*) I've never written anything about Greek mythology before, but I've read the Percy Jackson series. :D Okay, how about I make the thread now! (As this thread seems to have basically died. :P)

Lavendershy, would you like to look at my poem? I'm going to work on it and make it better. It'll probably be done by the time you see this. I'll post it in a separate thread.

Andy says rggb.

Hey! Uhh...I got sick and haven't been on the computer in a while, therefore I haven't been working with Emilie (Sorry!), so she found a new partner (I don't blame you)...Anyone need a partner? I love writing fantasy. I also find the concept of utopias intriguing, how they never ever work out...There's a sample of my writing on page 2, I think. Pleeeeaaaase partner with me! I want to work with someone.Smile
