Jewel Hotel- RP

Preface

~Charles paces restlessly in front of the large ornate window looking out into DarkHeart forest. The entier staff stands in the large room, silently watching the owner of the hotel walk back and forth, back and forth. Finally, he comes to a standstill, hands folded behind his back, facing the crowd.

"What do you suggest?" He tiredly asked.

"We should re-open the hotel," James, the head butler, instantly says. "What happened to Quartz wasn't your fault, it was his own. You are not putting guests in danger by run the hotel after all. He knew better than to-"

Charles held up a hand, and James fell silent. Charles resumed his pacing.

"Crystal gets lonely, you know," Gabriel, an old housemaid, spoke out timedly.

"What?" barked Charles, stopping and glaring at the maid.

"Your daughter loved the visiters. she would get to see people her own age. she doesn't now. Young folk like her need interaction with people around their age. It doesn't exactly help that we are located on a privatly owned, CLOSED to visiters, island. No one leaves. No one comes."

Charles rubbed his chin, and walked to look out the window. If he looked hard to the right, he could just make out the corner of the hotel's front patio. Sitting on the ground on a cushion, he could see his daughter leaning over an open book on her lap.

"And if you don't re-open," Gabriel said in a slightly dangerous tone, "there is no point in us staying here to dust empty rooms and cook meals for just the staff and Crystal. You hardly eat with us. We aren't getting paid. It's been a year. Re-open, or we will all LEAVE."

Charles was silent. A few moments passed, then he spun around. "Fine," he said, "fine. I'll re-open." ~

-Celeste-

The fresh breeze of the sea blows against me playfully, as if purposely trying to mess up my hair. I enjoy the chilly air that I get from it, but the wind...it's too much. My hair flutters in the air ungracefully, blocking my view of the island up ahead.

Up ahead, my best friend Violet has her hands clutching the edge of the cruise ship, her hair flying in the breeze much more majestically, like picture-perfect. A smile is on her face and her eyes are bright as she peers at the land up ahead.

"Celeste! Do you see the island up ahead? The shores look so nice, with the sparkling waves lapping against the sand..." Violet trails off, a dreamy look on her face.

I laugh a little. "Poetic, like always. But how in the world can you see it from here?"

"I just can," she says in a fake ominous and prophetic sounding voice. "I have magic-"

"Yeah, right," I interrupt. "As if. Anyways, we're almost there! Maybe we should be making preparations with our luggage and all."

"You haven't yet? I'm already done," Violet says, with the slightest hint of a smirk. "Maybe you should be making preparations."

"Of course," I sigh. "One moment."

~Violet~

"Ah, isn't this nice?" I exclaim as soon as we step off the cruise. The sun is out, and not a single cloud is in sight, in comparison to the cold and windy ride we had on the cruise. "Mmm, can't wait to go see what there is to explore!"

"Yep, yet another adventure you dragged me on in a sunny location," Celeste grumbles, shielding her face against the sun with one hand.

"And you still come!" I reply, smiling. Though it is quite hot, so I take off the lavender-colored sweater I'm wearing and tie it around my waist.

"Mhm." Celeste's sweatshirt is already off, and she has rolled up her sleeves, despite the fact that her shirt is short-sleeved. She looks up ahead, and sees a building in the distance. "That's the hotel, isn't it? Should we go check in?"

I nod. "Great idea! Let's go!"

Soon, we've arrived at the hotel. I read its sign, and it reads Jewel Hotel. I enter in, and see a stern and formal-looking man along with a teen girl who looks a little older than me, maybe Celeste's age. She has on a bright smile that looks a bit forced, but she still looks pretty friendly.

"Hi," I say, nodding and smiling at them like I usually would. "I'm checking in as Violet, and my friend besides me is Celeste..."

Sorry this took so long (and isn't great)~

~Calligraphy~
The wind ruffles my hair as I lean out into the sea breeze, enjoying the spray of salt water against my face. The cruise ship, a boat with the unwieldy name of The Emerald Queen of Glowing Sapphire Waters, is headed towards a small island where a girl who looks around my age and a man who I'm assuming is the owner and manager of the hotel stand. The Emerald Queen of Glowing Sapphire Waters - I decide to just call it the EGG bc of the acronym - docks at the pier, and I get out, along with a handful of other folks, thanking the captain as I leave. Two girls make their way to the girl and the man and introduce themselves as Violet and Celeste. As they talk, I study the girl. I've heard about her, Crystal Jewel, a bookworm who isn't afraid to stand up for what's right. In truth, she sounded more like a character in one of my books than someone in real life when I first learned of her, but now here she was, in the flesh, the isolated daughter of Charles Jewel. Isolated, because though she lives in a hotel, it didn't get many guests ever since mysteriously closing a year ago... but now it's open and in business again, and I'm one of its first guests since then. Maybe I should felt a bit scared and wary, but instead all I am is excited. I can't help wondering what Jewel Hotel holds in store for me...

As I wait, guests streaming over to us, one of the first people where two girls. "Hi, I'm checking in as Violet, and my friend besides me is Celeste," One of the girls smiled and nodded to me. "Hi!" I great them, my own smile turning more genuine. "I'm Crystal. Pleasure to meet you both!"

We smile happily at each other for another moment, then I notice a boy lurking in the crowd. I wave at him, and call, "Hey there! Want to join us? I could show all of you to your rooms! or, better yet, we could hurry and you could choose your rooms yourself!"

Crystal spots me standing near the back of the crowd and waves at me, smiling. "Hey there!" She calls. "Want to join us? I could show all of you to your rooms! Or, better yet, we could hurry and you could choose your rooms yourself!" I wave back. "Ooh, that sounds great!! Let's go then, I can't wait to see what rooms you have available!" Crystal turns and leads the way. As we walk, I turn towards a girl I think is named... Clementine?, who's walking next to me. She seems friendly enough, though a bit distant, and I decide to try to make some conversation. At the very least, she's got three thick books in her hand, and you never go wrong with someone who's got holding three thick books! "What're you reading?" I ask, motioning to the titles.

Clementine ~

as I walk with the group, Crystal leading us, a boy who looks my age standing next to me asks about my books. I panic internally because I didn't expect anyone to talk to me. "Uh... um... well I'm reading one of my favorite, uh, classics Jane Eyre. I'm also reading two other books, uh, Don Quioxte and er, Frankenstein." I stutter. I hope I don't look like a fool. I'm not that good with new people. "Oh cool!" he replies. "I have heard of those. I've read them before." I smile shyly... "Well we're amost there!" Crystal syas.

-Celeste-

Crystal greets us before inviting someone else to join us. I don't really mind, though. What I'm worried about is how sunny it is already, despite the fact that I'm wearing a short-sleeved t-shirt.

The "someone else" turns out to be a boy named Calligraphy, along with someone named Clementine, who's carrying three thick books in her hands, which I'm rather curious about.

While Calligraphy and Clementine are starting up a conversation, I turn my attention to Violet. "So...is there a specific reason why you chose this place?"

"The hotel or the location?" she asks, smiling.

"Both!"

"Well, I chose the location because I just heard of it recently in a magazine, and I thought it'd be fun to visit! It's an island after all. The perfect place for a vacation," Violet replies.

"An island, of all places, and a sunny one especially," I groan.

"What's wrong with it? The sunnier the better, right?" Violet laughs at my expression. "I get that you like colder places, but don't worry. We'll go there...one day."

"One day," I say, mimicking her tone. "Or never. How 'bout the hotel?"

"It just recently reopened, and I've heard some good reviews, and about the lovely host here," Violet says, gesturing to Crystal.

Just then, Crystal calls out, "Well, we're almost there!"

"Lovely," Violet says. "Then we can go explore this place! I've heard it's really cool."

"We're almost there!" I announce cheerfully as I lead the small group off the stair well on onto the first floor. I head toward my room, which is the second hallway after the stair well. When we reach the corridor, I stop. "Okay!" I said, turning to face the four people behind me. "Violet and Celeste, you two are sharing a room, right?" The two girls glanced at each other, then nodded. "Okay. You can have this room-" I pointed to room 221, at the very beginnning of the second hallway. "Clementine, you can be in room 222, and Calligraphy, room 223 is all yours! I'm at the end of the hall, room 230. I wanted to be near people my age- I reserved this entire hall for teens. I'll let Diana, the front desk lady, know who's in what room. Aaaaaand-" I draw out that word. "The next hall, around the corner, there'll be these giant double doors. That's to the library! Why don't we meet there in a few moments, after I tell the front desk. You guys can briefly explore your rooms. If you don't mind?"

"I'll be there," Violet chirped, and Celeste hurried to agree. Clementine nodded stiffly, clutching her books to her chest, and Calligraphy grinned and said, "Of course!"

I turn my face toward on of the door to Violet and Celeste's room, so I could hide my smile. I loved when Calligraphy smiled; he looked so cute when he did. Well, he looked cute when he did that or otherwise. I took out a ring key from pocket, which held 29 different keys. I found the right one, unlocked the two girls room, and then did the other two. "You'll find a key matching the one to your room in a small basket just behind the door. Don't loose it! keep it with you so you can get in and out of your rooms. See ya in a little bit! any extra bags you have will be delivered to your rooms in an hour or so." I waved at the small group before running to the stairs.

@all, you can describe your rooms as wished! each room is unique- it was chosen specificly to match each character's personatlity. Buuuut the character is yours, so describe and create away!

I mumbled a thank you as I opened the door to my room. I couldn’t help gasping when I saw my room. It was a dream come true!

It was pretty big, with all normal necessities like a kitchen, bathroom, laundry machines, ect. It was like an apartment. It was two stories high, with a small spiral staircase that looked elegant and cozy. The whole apartment was monochrome, with gray, black, and white, but the decor was very colorful and warm. (The appliances, monochrome, the pots and pans, soft pastel pinks purples ect with gold accents…) That was cool because I loved to bake and cook even though there probably was a dining area. The first floor held the kitchen which looked so nice and had a island with stools. Next to the kitchen there was a washer and dryer machine. It also had a roomy, cozy living room with a huge couch and a fancy fireplace with a tv on top. There were fairy lights and paintings and it was really cozy. There was a huge chandelier above the living room and the light was nice. The balcony was next to the living room and it was open which led a nice breeze. On the balcony there was a small table and 3 cozy chairs that were nice to sit in. THere was also a storage cabinet filled with outdoorsy things like shovels, gloves, ect. On the second floor there was a huge bedroom that had a canopy bed that was soft and had the prettiest comforters. It was strung with fairy lights. There was a huge drawer that I could put my clothes in and a nice full length mirror. There were already some clothes which made me ecstatic. In my size as well! It had huge windows with a little soft nook with pillows and blankets, and bookshelves stuffed with books. I was so happy!. The curtains for the window were droopy and made me feel as if I was in a fairy tale. There were three doors connecting to my bedroom, one led to a bathroom, that was so fancy. There was a huge mirror and sink with nice smelling soaps. The sink rested on a a cabinet that was filled with items for the bathroom. The floor was tiled nicely and there was a huge bathtub. Next to the bathtub there was a fancy rainfall style shower. There was a huge storage area/cabinet that was filled with towels of all sizes, toilet paper, ect. There was a huge window that led in light, with blinds, (obviously). In the other room there was a huge vanity filled with all the makeup and fancy things i needed. It was also a walk in closet and I was shocked to see how much stuff there was already! Purses, shoes, clothes, ect. It was like a small bedroom. In the final door there was a small area with a huge desk, laptop and notebooks and pens. There were huge windows that gave light and next to one of the windows, a smaller version of the reading nook I had in my bedroom. There were even MORE books and I was in heaven. There were rugs in every room and it was just amazing. I wanted to live here. I heard a knock on the door. When I finally opened the door(because I was enjoying my life) My luggage was there. I happily grabbed it all. I remembered we were supposed to meet at the library. I grabbed my bag and since we were going to a library I left my books :) I quickly checked how I looked in the mirror next to my door and ran out the door to the library.

Hi! This is mine (sry, I'm not very good at writing)

~Liara~

"I just arrived!" I eagerly texted Clementine as I walked into the hotel. I put my phone in my pocket as I walked up to the receptionist. "I'm Liara Jones, checking in." I said and they handed me my room key, to room 221. I opened the door, and the room inside was lovely. It was huge, larger than any hotel I had been to before. It had so many rooms to explore. It had a ground floor, with a winding staircase leading up. The wallpapers were soft, neutral tones and the rooms had soft rugs to walk on. There were a few rooms on the first floor, including a kitchen, dining room, living room, and a small laundry room with just a washer and dryer. The kitchen had a sink, fridge, microwave, stove, many cabinets, and an island with an obsidian countertop. Next to the kitchen, in the same room, was the small dining room. It had a few lounge chairs and a low to the ground table, as well as a credenza with candles on top. The living room was large and cozy, with plush chairs, an L-shaped couch, and a multitude of pillows. There was a large fireplace with a TV above it. The room had shelves with DVDs, comics, video games, ceramics, and plants. Upstairs contained a bathroom, study, and bedroom. The bathroom had a toilet, mirror, marble sink, with a built-in cabinet with soaps, lotions, moisturizers, towels, a drawer with cosmetics, etc. There was also a fancy bathtub with a rain shower head above it. The study was small, but comfortable. There was a desk with a lamp on it and a laptop, with pencils and pens in a pen holder on the desk. To the left of the desk was a table with a printer, headphones, stationary objects, Post-Its, 3D printer, staple, erasers, papers, and notebooks. Behind the desk was a large window with a window seat for reading and a plant on the windowsill. There was a little reading nook, with a bean bag chair and a bookshelf, brimming with books, and all neatly organized. I closed the door to the study and walked into my new bedroom. It had a large bed, a canopy bed with a soft blanket on the bed itself. There were plants and books around the room and on small shelves. Near the bed was a drawer with fresh clean clothes that I loved the look of. On top of the drawer were video game consoles, a lamp, and a box labeled, "Open Me." I decided to leave that for later as I looked at the rest of the room. It had skylights and a large walk-in closet. I opened the closet door and it had sweaters and fancy outfits hanging inside. In a small corner was a little nook with pillows. Seemingly done with seeing the rooms, I walked out to go back downstairs, when I spotted that there was a lamp on each side of the bedroom. One of the lamps looked crooked so I decided to test it to see if it was stable, and as I gently pulled it, the wall around the lamp started to come away, forming a door. I pulled it further away and stepped inside of the space opened up. I closed the door behind me from the handle on the inside and looked. It was beautiful. It was huge, a giant library with all kinds of odd objects along with it. There were tons of shelves and books, and even stairs leading up to more. The room had an ornate carpet spanning the size of the room (not the upstairs though) and a lounge area with a coffee table and soft chairs. There was another window seat with the window being closed with large blinds. There was a large, antique grandfather clock right next to the secret door. On the shelves of books and around the room were different objects I had never seen before. There was an ornamented box full of gemstones, glass art, periodic table of the elements with real samples (apart from the radioactive ones), plasma globe, jar with ferrofluid, galaxy crystal ball, lava lamp, magnetic levitating LED light bulb, and many other interesting objects. The upstairs section was plain and unfinished, with just carpeting and a closed off ventilation room. I loved looking around the room, but knew I had to meet up with Clementine in the library. I grabbed my bag from the bedroom where I had left it and walked off to the library.

"We're almost there!" Crystal announces cheerfully, leading us to the first floor of the hotel. We turn through the corridor and stop at the second hallway before she turns to face us, grinning. "Okay!" she says, getting straight to the point. "Violet and Celeste, you two are sharing a room, right?" The two girls glance at each other and nod. "Okay. You can have this room-" here Crystal points to room 221, at the very beginnning of the second hallway. "Clementine, you can be in room 222, and Calligraphy, room 223 is all yours! I'm at the end of the hall, room 230. I wanted to be near people my age- I reserved this entire hall for teens. I'll let Diana, the front desk lady, know who's in what room. Aaaaaand-" Crystal draws out the word, her whole face lighting up in a way that makes my heart beat a little bit faster. "The next hall, around the corner, there'll be these giant double doors. That's to the library! Why don't we meet there in a few moments, after I tell the front desk. You guys can briefly explore your rooms. If you don't mind?"

Violet and Celeste agree quickly, which is no surprise. Clementine nods stiffly, clutching her books to her chest, and I grin and say, "Of course!" I'm so excited to see my room, and to see the library too! I wonder what books they have?

Crystal turns towards the door and takes out a ring key from her pocket, which seems to hold a grand total of 29 different keys. She unlocks all the rooms. "You'll find a key matching the one to your room in a small basket just behind the door. Don't lose it! Keep it with you so you can get in and out of your rooms. See ya in a little bit! Any extra bags you have will be delivered to your rooms in an hour or so." she waves at us before running to the stairs, and I wave back, then turn towards my door. Slowly, I push it open and peek inside, suddenly a bit fearful that the room won’t meet all my expectations, but...

I had nothing to worry about. The room is perfect, like it was designed especially to suit me, which I know it had been, something that had given Jewel Hotel awesome ratings before it had closed. There are two main rooms, the first of which is small, simple, and cozy, with a built-in fireplace and all kinds of small, slightly hidden reading nooks. Some sofas and armchairs are arranged in a semicircle around the fireplace, and torch-lamps cast a warm, flickering glow over everything. Ivy grows on the walls, like in a fairytale, and indeed the whole place feels magical. The scent of jasmine lingers in the air, strong enough to be soothing, but not too strong. There are windows, drawn with curtains, that let in a little natural light, and a big bookshelf stands guard beside it. I run my fingers along the spines and am delighted to see that some of my favorite titles are included.

The second room is big and airy and the complete opposite of the first one, though I love it just as much. While the former was filled with warm tones and colors, this one speaks of sky and ocean and unknown places just waiting to be discovered and explored. It’s made of glass, and I can see out into the courtyard beyond. There are hanging plants arranged throughout the room, and soft woven rugs that are perfect for sinking down on. Wooden floorboards slide under my feet, smooth and polished, and I know that they’d make a great dance floor too! There’s a small balcony on one side of the wall, and a fire escape that’s the ideal spot for stargazing. I stand at the railing and breath in the fresh air for a moment before going back inside.

The bathroom is all that I could ever ask for. The toilet is painted bright, vibrant colors instead of just plain white, and the handle is shaped like a dragon. A sink stands at one corner, a mirror above it. The mirror is tinged and makes all the reflections seem almost dreamlike. At the other corner is a small shower, and a bathtub, filled with pool toys such as rubber duckies (which I will love till the end of my days, you can never be too old for rubber duckies!)!

The last room is my bedroom, easily the smallest room out of all of them. A simple bed, soft as down, with a wooden headrest, lays in the center. A closet slides open in one wall, already filled with comfy hoodies and many-pocket jackets. I set my bags on the bed, and look around the room, content. I love this place so much…

I realize it’s time to meet Crystal and the others at the library now. Unpacking will have to wait, I've got an appointment with some books!

The moment I step into the room, I know that it's perfect. The whole room is purple, purple kitchen, purple bookshelves, purple chairs, purple rug...I smile. I love purple, of course.

Celeste hangs up her jacket before walking around, admiring it. I can tell that she too, enjoys the room. Within the room, there are four spaces in all. The first space is a standard kitchen and small dining area. The second space is a lounge and reading area. The third space is a bedroom and a bathroom. The fourth space is also a bedroom and a bathroom.

"So, which room do we pick?" Celeste wonders aloud.

"Whichever one fits us best, of course!" I exclaim. I look at both rooms, and find the one that is decorated with purple flowers. I step inside and quickly put down my luggage. I smile, admiring all the decorations. There are small white fairy lights threaded across the room, many purple vases with purple flowers in them, a lavender-colored desk, a comfy purple beanbag chair, a nice and cozy purple canopy bed, a large window to let in the sunlight, and a mini library, best of all!

I decide to check out Celeste's room, and I see how it definitely fits her. The walls are covered with a purple galaxy sky dotted with stars, a standard white desk, a mini library like mine, snow globes everywhere, a large air conditioning feature, a mini freezer, and a light teal rug.

"You look happy with this room," I say.

She nods happily. "Indeed, I am. I'm surprised at how cool everything is, in terms of looks and temperature. It always feels too hot in hotel rooms, but this one is just right for me."

"Haha. For me, this feels like a freezer," I comment. "Anyways, I think we should go explore now."

"Okay," Celeste says.

I practically flew down to the reception desk and danced back up to the library. I flew past doors and paused at my door before turning to the right. Instead of a corridor, there was a pair of giant oak doors, from ceiling to floor. I smiled in anticipation, and then grabbed the left door and heaved outward. I stood a moment, peering in, before dashing forward as the door started to slowly close. As it shut behind me, I took in the scene I never get tired of.

The floor was carpeted, a magenta color. In front of me, about ten feet away, large steps with mahogany wood went up a level, became a flat area, then split into two staircases. There were bookshelves upon bookshelves up there, with sliding ladders and an occasional armchair. Once the stairs stopped, it became a flat area, and I couldn’t see anymore besides rows of bookshelves.

To the right of me, a maze of bookshelves on the lower level continued to the far end of the room, with floor to ceiling windows on the wall looking into the courtyard. To the left of me, there were some desks and random armchairs, but I headed to the fireplace, where there was a coffee table and a few couches. The floor to ceiling length window on this side showed a veiw of the park. I settled down on the couch facing the large, ornate fireplace (even though it was empty in the summer) and waited impatiently for my guests to arrive.

@Celine, yes!! I'd love to ship Calli with Crystal :D
