Greetings.Yo

Greetings.

You have likely already gathered that my name is, in fact, Lisha. Lisha is what you may call me. Some other fairly obvious facts are that I enjoy reading and writing.

However. I am not random, eccentric, or strange. I do not like to make up exotic names for my characters like Allinaraine, or Jessamina. I am not posessed with demon spirits, as so many online claim. I have no mental disorders or phobias, aside from a dislike of walnuts. I am precise, and what I say, I mean.

On a lighter note, my favorite color is green. Fascinating, no?

Hey Lisha. Your name is divine, and my favorite color is green also, which is extremely fascinating, yes. My name is JFB, which are my real initials, though you will never, ever, guess what they stand for. I am surprised that I am the first to comment on this thread, because usually, I'm too lazy to actually type something, and also, if I do type something, it's usually the very last comment. Anyway, I love walnuts, and I must now go eat lunch. (I am eating only walnuts for lunch. Not really, silly!)

Thank you. I do like my name; it is of Arabic origin and it means "the darkness before midnight." Very precise in naming which darkness and when it appears. It's just an added bonus that it sounds good.

Now. I should be studying for my test, but that is so terribly monotonous. Also, I know that you would jump at the chance to hear more about my oh-so-fascinating life. Things that irritate me (i.e., pet peeves) are: my older sisters, in high school and whining about makeup and their boyfriends, improper punctuation, little horrible hairless dogs that kill squirrels, and washing the dishes.

JFB's initials, Lisha, stand for Jessamina F. B.
No, no, jk. ;)
I am not posessed with demon spirits either, I'm glad to inform you! I'm possessed by omnipotent, malignant sprites. No, just kidding again. I'm actually possessed by demon spirits.
Sorry, I'll stop.
As for mental disorders/phobias... I have didaskoleinophobia, hippopotomontrosesquipedaliphilos, and an obsession with shiny things. Also, the voices in my head have names (so that'd be cacodemomania, or just plain demonomania, yes?). And I'm allergic to rice, caviar, and cats.
I'm sorry. I won't antagonize anymore. I promise you, I'm not "random, eccentric, or strange." Just very, very scary. And I swordfight.

Okay. *waves* Welcome to the Cricket Chatterbox, Lisha! I'm Mary W, and you can call me Mary Liz or ML. Or Mary W. You'll love it here. We all can't wait for you to post on here more, and we guarantee you will have a fun time. Oh, and one more thing: The Admins are the all-powerful administrators of this website who screen every comment before posting it and they help keep the website safe and free of rudeness etc. It might take a little while for your threads/comments to show up, but it's well worth it to have them sifted through by the admin. :)
Anyway Lisha, welcome to the CB. You might like it here. We are really a bunch of kids similar to you. You'll feel right at home. Generally everyone else here likes reading and writing too. So you'll feel doubly at home! Oh la. We should dance.

What a coincidence, ML! I also am hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobic! This is inconvenient as I am an antidisestablishmentarianist with a fondness for rhombicosidodecahedrons and I fear I may be coming down with pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. OK, sorry, I'll stop now.

Oh no, pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis?! Hanging out near too many volcanoes? If you're an antidisestablishmentarianist, I assume that you are not an antitransubstantiationalist, right?
Oh, the fact of the world's hippopotomonstrosesquipedalian floccinaucinihilipilification of honouraficabiltudinitatibus really makes me annoyed at times, don't you agree?

submitted by Mary W., age 12.21, NJ
(February 10, 2010 - 9:58 pm)

Yep. Volcanoes'll do that to you. You use some extremely sesquipedalian words, did you notice? However, from your useage, might I dare to suggest you do not know the precise definitions of all your vocabulary? Please do not take this as floccinaucinihilipilification. I must now go, as I need to arrive in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch before too long.

As it happens, I do. Howevah, my friends and I have a bit of an inside joke of trying to use the longest words possible in the same sentence, regardless of whether or not it makes sense... Parde moi if that habit showed. ;)

Enjoy your stay in St. Mary's Church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the rapid whirlpool of Llantysilio of the red cave. I'll be in Wales as well, around Gorsafawddachaidraigodanheddogleddolonpenrhynareurdraethceredigion. Ta-ta.

Are you guys just making up these words? Or are they actually real words? If they are, maybe you could enlighten us too, shall we say, ignorant to know the meanings of these words. Namely, me.

submitted by Confused
(February 13, 2010 - 2:33 pm)

Sure, Confused. They are ALL real words. Here are the definitions:

hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia: the fear of long words

antidisestablishmentarianist: a person who is against the people who are against the king

rhombicosidodecahedron: a 20 polyhedron with 20 regular triangular faces, 30 regular square faces, 12 regular pentagonal faces, 60 vertex, vertices and 120 edges

pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis: a disease caused by microscopic volcanic particles. Miners get it, I think.

antitransubstantiationalist: one who disagrees with the concept of or belief in the transubstantiation doctrine of the Catholic church

floccinaucinihilipilification: saying something is worthless

honouraficabiltudinitatibus: the state of being able to acheive honors

sesquipedalian: a long word, literally "a foot and a half long"

Gorsafawddachaidraigodanheddogleddolonpenrhynareurdraethceredigion and Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch: places in Wales

Hope that was helpful, Confused!

Yessss... I think that ZNZ and I both use the same pointlessly long words websites. :)

Hi! I am possessed by demonic spirits. They usually command me to read and write. What is this thread about?

Well, now that you mention, this thread is about me. Cheers! Oh, dear. That does sound self-centered.

Hi, Lisha! I love the color green as well. It is very fascinating. I can be extremely eccentric, strange, and random at times. I enjoy walnuts and have double-jointed elbows. It is very nice to meet you! (But I hope I haven't scared you off!)

Cool name! I like reading and writing too! I'm Alexa and this is Olive. It's her turn to speak in brackets. (Hi!) It's good to meet you. I have one question though. HOW COME YOU DON'T LIKE WALNUTS? (Alexa's a little sugary today.) Sorry. But I LOVE walnuts! Anyways, welcome to the Chatterbox! Also known as the CB. I don't know what Inkwell is called (I'm guessing I) but Down to Earth is DtE, This Month is TM, Chirp at Cricket is CaC, Blab about Book is BaB, and Pudding's Place is PP. Laterz. Here, have a rose. (and again she goes off topic)
