So somehow I

So somehow I ended up writing a Twilight... fanfiction, I suppose, except that I'm not a fan.

I read Eclipse, because the movie is coming out and I want to see it because I'm hoping they'll continue to get better. (The new director did wonders.) Anyway, I finished it and was sort of like, "...that was a lame fight scene." Between Eddykins and Victoria. I mean, Smeyer described it like it was a ballet or something.

But then it got me sort of hooked on Victoria. She is a very good character, just poorly written. And she doesn't get much page time, either. Or a backstory or anything cool, like Rosalie for instance. And she just seemed like such an easy character to write, what with her thing for James and her weird twisted one-track-mind grudge against Bella and all.

But because Smeyer hates her villains she died, very lamely I might add. After all, she was the main antagonist for, what, two books, but she didn't even ever really show up. And then you expect us to believe that Sparklepants essentially growls at her, dances with her, and then burns her or something? Come on. That's a tad pathetic.

So I decided to just betray everything I've ever stood for and try writing a Twilight fanfic. I wrote a prologue and it turned out pretty okay, and it was fun, so I kept writing and now I'm on chapter two or something. It's basically about Vicky's life before being changed, how she got changed, and her life as a vampire before all the creepiness with the Cullens. And then maybe I could rewrite the creepiness with the Cullens, too.

It briefly deteriorated into a Buffy fanfic when Spike and Dru made an appearance... see my fangirling PP thread.

Re: Eclipse movie: They recast Victoria because of a ten-day overlap even though RL was frankly brilliant in New Moon (despite, you know, not having any lines. She scared Heart Attack Guy to death, so...), so I'm obligated to hate them. BUT Howard Shore is doing the soundtrack and I'm guessing it'll be worth seeing just for that.

Also, Yay! You're a Victoria!fangirl too! I'm not the only one!

Also also, Spike and Dru showing up the Twiverse would be epic. Crossovers are fun. Especially really random ones; they happen in my head all the time, usually late at night. For example most recently I've been having weird Avatar/Discworld/HP/Twilight dreams. Avatar the show (which I was recently introduced to and fell in love with immediately, Azula is awesome AND I was still rooting for the heroes for once, it's weird to sympathize with both the protagonist and the antagonists at the same time), not the movie which I haven't seen and don't plan to.

DIGRESSING, SORRY.

I would love it if you posted what you have. It might help to kickstart the rewrite that's been sitting on my HD for ages.

First: To the top!

Second: Could you post some on here? I love reading fanfics..And Victoria would be an interesting character to read about. There really aren't that many fanfics about her on Fanfiction. xD

Mary: Now I don't wonder why people hate Smeyer so much. (but I still think people who have never read her books, or seen any Smeyer movie don't really have a reason for hating her, after all, Smeyer was also edited, and th editor should have fixed things up a bit) And is your PP thread in Inkwell?

TNO: HOWARD SHORE IS AMAZING! I totally agree with you, if he composed the music (well, the music for the score anyway) the movie's definately worth seeing. (I usually write while listening to LotR music, well I used to until I found Gabriel Faure)

 Laterz!

P.S. Do any of you know how hard it is to type with one hand and a pinkie whilst eating popcorn? (and yes I have braces, but I just had my exam yesterday so I deserve it!)

@TNO: Crossover dreams are strange. The other day I had this bizarre dream that was a mix of Buffy, HP, and the teachers at my school. >.< And yes, trust me, I'm just as annoyed about the recasting. But in BDH's defense, she was pretty good as Gwen in Spider-Man 3.

@Emma: Haha, are you talking about Fanfiction Dot Net? I <3 that. Although you're right that there aren't many Vicky fanfics.

@Olive: I'm sure Smeyer is very pleasant as a person, I just don't like her writing. And no... my PP thread is in PP: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/puddingsplace/node/69269

Okay... sorry it took so long, I had to get up enough motivation to use the USB Port of Undeath. Anyhoo, here is the prologue. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, because I haven't really edited it. Biting criticism is appreciated.

Prologue

I was never so different from her. Bella. She desperately wanted to be with Edward… I desperately wanted to be with James. The difference, mainly, was that she got what she wanted. I didn’t.

I never had any problem accepting myself, human or vampire. As a human, I was satisfied. As a vampire, I was probably hungrier, but equally satisfied. Bella had issues with that sort of thing. As a human, she felt she wasn’t good enough, but she feared vampires’ natures. She only created problems. Sometimes I wonder if there was some unseen force determining my fate… Someone who looked at the two of us, our separate situations, and thought to themselves, “Bella… Victoria. Bella… Victoria. Oh, Bella is good and kind and moralistic, and Victoria is beastly and evil and sadistic. I choose Bella.” Stupid, isn’t it? Because all of Bella’s wishes came true, and mine didn’t. I wasn’t even as greedy as she was. She wanted to become a vampire… I already was. I could have had a happy, fruitful life with James with no problems at all. She created complications with her thing for Cullen. She practically turned our world on its head with her selfish, greedy desires. She wanted a child; I would have been perfectly content with just James. She even wanted to protect her friends. And, for that matter, everyone else she’d ever met. On the other hand, I sent Laurent to his death with no qualms whatsoever. All I asked of this world was that I live a long and happy life with James.  Was that too much to ask? I don’t think so.
