Kyngdom Survival Guide

It was raining,

Chatterbox: KYNGDOM™ RP Board

It was raining,

It was raining, and it was night.

Two figures approached the military base-like complex on the top of Bleak Peak. It was once the laboratory of BIG, and it was once more, although it didn't belong to BIG alone anymore.

The base was far better protected now. There would be no more Powers reducing it to rubble.

The shorter of the two figures was completely hidden. They wore a dark black cloak, and were quite short, only about as tall as a child.

The taller figure was a wolf anthro with striking white fur. They wore a uniform that identified them as a member of Catastrophe's army, and their badges meant they were a general.

The guards opened the gates for the pair, watching them fearfully.

On the other side, a man in a lab coat was waiting for them. A badge on his coat read BIG. A woman stood beside him. Her lab coat was black and it had a badge reading SOCS.

"So," the anthro growled, "How exactly did a wolf steal something from here?"

"He wasn't alone," the woman explained. "We didn't get him or the stolen object, but we easily removed his team mates."

"I'm still not pleased. It appears we need to adjust a few things around here. Now. Take me to the prisoners."

The woman and man nodded quickly, glancing uneasily at the cloaked figure. "Y-yes, sir. Right this way."

The general and the two scientists continued into the complex, but the cloaked child-sized creature lingered behind for a minute. Its masked head twisted around to examine the path it had taken up the mountain. The guards at the gate looked away when they realized the cloaked figure had seen them staring.

Satisfied, the being entered the base.

The guards looked at each. "It's bad luck, that thing. Whenever it's around, somebody always winds up dead, injured or sick."

"Must be cursed," Another guard mused.

"Well, now we're the cursed ones," a third guard added. The other guards murmured consent.

If only they knew the truth.

The General seemed extremely disappointed as he walked down the halls. His fur was bristled, and he was growling faintly. The two scientists were carefully avoiding saying anything that might  anger him.

A tall man wearing a bright red uniform approached them. "Jantu. I see Catastrophe asked you to sort out this mess as well."

"Ajana. Good to see you as well."

The two scientists had stepped aside to allow the generals to converse.

"I see you brought Lihim. Come here, child." The cloaked figure approached General Ajana. Ajana seemed surprisingly laid back and civil for a member of Catastrophe's army. The cloaked figure decided that perhaps he could be reasoned with, perhaps even convinced to see her point of view.

"Lihim isn't a regular child, Ajana. She's a mutant, a supersoldier. You shouldn't treat her like a puppy," Jantu growled.

Ajana laughed. "Genetically engineered soldier or not, Lihim is a child nonetheless. You shouldn't be so harsh." Ajana looked directly at Lihim's masked face, crouching down to her height. He dropped something on the ground , making sure that Jantu didn't see.

"Oh, Lihim, you dropped something." He handed her the folded piece of parchment . Lihim was surprised, but Ajana seemed very intent on making sure she got it.

Ajana stood. He and Jantu conversed quietly as the trio followed the two scientists. Lihim carefully unfolded the letter.

I'm on your side. You can trust me. ~~Ajana

There was a crack of thunder, which made Lihim jump. She instantly scolded herself silently. How dumb of her, to be jumping at a storm like a child.

But you are a child.

She couldn't help but to justify her actions. She looked up to see if Jantu or Ajana had seen. Evidently not, as Jantu would likely have bitten her head off if he'd seen.

They were approaching the prison area when Jantu suddenly paused.

He turned to the two scientists. "I think I see your problem."

"What do you mean?" The female scientist in the black coat asked. She sounded frightened and confused .

"Care to explain why there are no guards in your prison segment?"

"Wh-what do you mean? Of course there's guards, we aren't--" The male scientist paused as he looked  down the hallway.

"But they--they were just there, I swear! I--"

Ajana frowned. He walked forwards. "Ah. I believe I've found the missing guards."

Lihim, the scientists, and Jantu walked up beside him. Just behind the corner were the seven guards.

And they were all dead.

(September 30, 2019 - 4:18 pm)

Lihim stared at the bodies. They had been killed so--cleanly, for lack of a better word. All choked to death, as if someone had snuck up from behind and done the deed. And they were neatly set in the corner, just out of sight from the hallway. Whoever had killed them knew what they were doing.

Ajana looked at Lihim, as if asking her if she did it. She gave him a small shake of her head. He sucked air in between his teeth and looked at the bodies. "It appears we have an enemy within our base."

"What a clever observation," Jantu growled. The two scientists seemed to cower before him. And it was quite possible they were cowering .   "You two." The wolf snapped , whirling around to face the scientists. "Go get me some of your best soldiers. We're going to deal with this problem, and quickly. Ajana, Lihim--come with me."

The  scientists sprinted down the hallways. Lihim watched them go, then turned to Jantu. Jantu was glowering. You could practically see the smoke coming from his ears. Even Ajana seemed a bit paler than usual.

"Do you think it's someone from the Resistance? Or...perhaps it's someone from an outside force..." Ajana seemed thoughtful . Jantu looked at him.

"Outside force? What do you mean by that? It's either the Resistance or one of their allies, no one else is dumb enough to sneak into a base and kill seven people!"

Ajana flinched. "Well, yes, but think about it. The Resistance --and their allies--are terribly under-trained.  Except maybe for FaFA, but they don't kill. They use non-lethal methods only. And of course..."

"Of course what?"

" Well, you know that other nations beyond the border of Kyngdom have been getting...interested in the war. They've come to realize that Catastrophe may have plans to take them over as well. "

I have been wandering for about 3 days now. I don't know where exactly I am I only know that I am maybe around Bleak Peak but I most likely am not. It is about midday and it looks like rain. Then I see it. Bleak Peak. There's a BIG base by it and that is my destination.

I walk up to it and easily get in avoiding guards with my dark magic. I creep inside and see everyone rushing around. They all look paniked and scared. The scientists are running and a few are pacing talking into a device.

I try to find the prison area. Since I was helped when I escaped I'll help others. I see a wing and when I get closer cells. This is it. I wlak slowley behind the first guard, wrap a cloth around his mouth and choke him. He drops easily. The rest of the guards do as well. I stack them neatly behind a corner to make them harder to find. Then I work on the prisoners. I manage to get one out until I hear people coming. I quickley turn invisible and press up against the wall.

I see a cloaked figure, A wolf anthro with white fur, a red uniformed general, and two scientists, male and female.

"I think I see your problem." THe whie anthro says turning to the scientists.

"What do you mean?" the woman asks tenitivley.

"Care to explain why there are no guards in your prison segment?"

"Wh-what do you mean? OF course there's guards we aren't--" HE stops speaking once he sees for himslef. "But they-they were just there! I swear! I--"

The red general walks foreward and sees the guards there neatly stacked in rows all choked to death. He frowns "Ah. I believe I've found the missing guards."

Everyone comes up behind him and a couple shudder at the sight. "It apears we have an enemy in our base." The red general says grimley. I don't miss his exchange with the cloaked figure.

"What a clever observation." The anthro growls. He whirls around and faces the scientists "You two!" he snaps "GO get me some of your best soldiers. We're going to deal with this problem and quickley. Ajana, Lihim--come with me."

The scientists quickley run away and I take this oppurtunity to try and get out.

"DO you think it's someone from the resistance?" Ajana asks "Or.. prehaps it's someone from an outside force..."

"Outside force? What do mean byt that? It's either the Resistance or one of their allies, no one else is dumb enough to sneak into a base and kill seven people!" The anthro snaps back.

I turn and run past then causing Lihim to turn a little toward me. No one else seems to notice though.

I try to follow the scientist but it is very difficult to do since I took too long. I don't think I want to be a part of the Resistance but I guess that I'm that dumb. I almost run into a guard and the scientists who seems to be going the way I came. There are more guards behind them. I grab the last one and put a rag in his mouth. I force him into an empty room and close the door.

I turn uninvisible and pull out a daggar. "What is happening?" I ask threatning him "What happened?"

He visibly gulps and looks stressed. "The-there was an at--attack an attack here and so--something was, something was stolen."

I pull down my hood and smirk "Thanks." Then I kill him.

I drag his body into the crowd, turn back invisible and slip back to where I was.

Lihim twisted around, not listening to the end of Ajana and Jantu's conversation. She sensed something --someone.

She slipped away, the two generals not even noticing. As she walked, she began to hear voices. She didn't recognize either.

They were coming from behind a metal door. Lihim remembered that one of the scientists had said it was a storage closet when they walked by here earlier.

She heard the quiet noises of a scuffle, then all was silent. The door opened and Lihim ducked behind it.

For just a few moments, she saw someone. They were wearing a cloak. A strange shadowy mist seemed to come off them, as if they could use some sort of dark magic. Before Lihim could say anything, they vanished once more.

I go back to where the cells were and I see the wolf anthro adressing the guards.

What do you mean there was eight of you? There is only seven! CAN YOU EVEN COUNT?" HE is seething and the guards look paniked and very very scared. Perfect.

I sneak up behind the last guard as no one is paying attention to him. I take out my daggar and just stab him leaving him with no reaction time. He crumples to the ground and it's only now that I notice that Lihim is not here. Now that I'm thinking about it she seemed very powerful.

i wonder if she noticed me here. Turning around I see her comign back and looking a little confused. She definetly saw me.

"Wait is he-TRENT IS DOWN!" The one guard yells. I step back and watch the scene

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?" JAntu looks like he is going to kill someone "YOU IDIOTS CAN'T FIND THE INTRUDER AND PEOPLE ARE DYING! FIND THEM NOW!!" THey disperse and Ijust silently chuckle.

"Do you think that they are invisible?" Ajana asks Jantu

"THat is our best bet unless you are behind this" He says suspiciously

"I can assure you Jantu this is not me! I'm loyal!" I can tell that was not the whole truth. Dark magic is handy nowadays. Then I can feel the magic take a toll on me. It's getting hrder and harder to mintain control on my invisiblility. I hav't been fullly trained and this is dark magic. I am facing Lihim and Ajana. Jantu's back is to me.

I make a decision. LEt them come at me. I can still fight. I pull up my hood and draw my daggars. I turn uninvisible.

The thief reappeared.

"Aha! There you are!" Ajana drew his sword . Lihim moved into a fighting stance. Jantu whirled around, snarling for the guards.

The thief was smart and sprinted down the hallway. Lihim sprinted after her, pulling Ajana's sword from his hand and taking it. Ajana followed.

Jantu stayed behind and rounded up any guards he could find.

Lihim turned the corner, slipping a bit on the tiles. Ajana caught up to her.

"Don't kill them!" He muttered. "They might be a Resistance member, and we can offer them information."

Lihim nodded, then continued after the intruder.

Sorry for taking a while! My computer kept dying over and over! Here is the next part! It is a little short but it is combat so...

~Skylar

I race around corners trying to lose the people on my heels. They seem faster than they should be. I turn the corner and stop just short of a dead end. My hood flies off. I turn to see Lihim run around the corner.

We stare at eachother for a few seconds and then she takes the offensive. Ajana comes around the corner, out of breath.

Lihim holds a sword and Ajana's scabard is empty withleaves him without a weapon. I have my daggars and my magic but the magic is kind of dwindling at the moment so I hope that my skills are enough.

Lihim swings her sword at me and I just barley dodge it. We go back and forth swiping and dodging with our weapons. Ajana joins in trying to pin me down.

"Do you understand what you have done?" I ask dodging both Lihim and Ajana.

"Great she makes conversation." Ajana grumbles.

"These are innocent people trying to help our world!" I roll to the left, Lihim's sword catching a piece of my cloak "Why did you join this side? What do you believe in?"

Lihim~~

"These are innocent people trying to help our world!" The shadowy girl rolled to the left , but Lihim sword went through a piece of cloak, trapping her to the wall. "Why did you join this side? What do you believe in?"

Lihim paused.

"Are you a Resistance member?" Ajana asked , after looking around.

"Why should I tell you?" The girl snapped.

"Because," Ajana explained, " We aren't loyal to Catastrophe. We're... spies, you might say. "

"For who?"

" Well, I'm not entirely sure of Lihim's side--though I do know she's against Catastrophe. But I myself work for...an underground organization, of sorts. Not the Resistance or FaFA, or even the Sanukans. " Lihim spotted a strange moon necklace Ajana was wearing for the first time.

"Interesting. So, I'm assuming you won't kill me?"

"No, which means we have to leave, along with you, before Jantu finds us," Lihim added. "Ajana, lead the way."

Thought on shipping Skylar and Ajana....

~Skylar

In a turn of events, Lihim, Ajana and I are trying to get out of this BIG facility. I am at the back of our group. We are on a time crunch. If Jantu gets to us before we get to the exit then that would be bad for all three of us.

We are turning corners and finally we see the exit.

"Come on! We're almost there!" Ajana tells us running faster.

Then Jantu and some soldiers run infront of us. "Stop!" Jantu yells "What are you doing? Why arn't you attacking the theif?"

"Jantu we were just-"

"What is your explaination Ajana? Have you turned against Catastrophe? After what happened in Jokull we can't have any more rebellions."

Ajana kind of freezes and Lihim growls under her breath.

"Grab the thief." Jantu tells the guards. I want to talk with Ajana and Lihim."

"No."

"I'm sorry what?" Jantu asks me. I didn't even realize I had said anything. "You have no authority here."

"I said no. Catastrophe will fall." I'm getting angrier now "He will never win. He's not strong enough. All of the revolts are weakening him." Black magic starts forming around me, I feel... Power.

It all shot towards Jantu and he froze covered in a black misty cover.

We all froze. In fear

Ajana~~

The black shadowy magic shoots towards Jantu. It slams him against the wall, and everything starts rattling in the room.

Jantu falls to the ground, dead.

"How---" I begin.

"I have no idea," Skylar says.

"Anger. It must be a trigger of some sort. For your powers," Lihim says. "But we don't have time to talk. We have to leave, especially since we've just killed Jantu. Come on, maybe someone will accept us."

~~

Where do you think they should go? I was thinking maybe the Grasplands, since that's a high action area. But if we did that, we'd have to deal to the Beginner Thread. Thoughts?
