I've been laying

I've been laying here for weeks. Every time I get up, alarms go off. Every time I walk away, I feel a terrible electrocution. My poor friend Info Chan hasn't been able to get more than one person to come and get me out of this mess, and she is afraid she'll scare me if she comes herself. There are still many things about her that are mysterious to me, and that is one of them. I'm sick of being held captive, sick of not knowing what'll happen to me, sick of it all. So, I got up, quietly, and just stood. And I listened. Then I took a step. Another step. But as I lifted a paw to take a step, something shocked me, and I yelped with pain. I jumped pack, yelping and holding my paw in the air. Then the same pain shot through my tail. I yelped again and stepped forward.  Then it hit me. There must be some kind of electric fence around me, I thought. If I could just jump it...  I thought it couldn't hurt to try, well actually it could hurt, but it was better than doing nothing. So I reared back, tightened my muscles, crouched, and leapt. Moments later, I crashed down on the invisible laser fence. A sharp pain ran through me. I dropped to the ground, then with the little strength I had left, I heaved myself away from the fence. I fell asleep for the night, sore from where the lasers burned me.

When my eyes blinked open in the early morning sun, my side hurt worse than it had. I was at a good energy level. I tryed jumping the fence one last time, and though it grazed my stomach, I made it over this time. I ran, heedless of the pain in my side. I didn't see a loose stone just beneath my feet, and went flying through the air when I tripped over it. I knew I would have a bruise there later, but no time to think about it now. I needed to run before someone found me out. I ran all day, resting once in a while. Then I finally stopped to rest. My chest was burning, my paws were sore. It felt good to lay down. The moon was up, casting shadows on the ground around me as I slept.
