Hunger Games RP.

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Hunger Games RP.

Hunger Games RP.

Another one, yes. Because the old one was really fun. Just a typical Hunger Games, begins with the reaping, ends with the Victory Tour.

You can make more than one character, yes.

 You can make mentors, yes.

 No gory descriptions. Actually, no descriptions of deaths at all.

Just follow the guidelines, okay? Apart from the fact that we're killing each other.

 So. Yeah. Anyone want to join?

 Again, don't worry, Admins. We'll keep to the code... Err... Guidelines/too much PoC.

Dunno...maybe we should wait a bit longer. Or at least wait with the stylists.

Ah! I'm here! Sorry!

First, a useful chart:

d= dies,

italics not a POV character, so they die.

District 1: Hyaline (d) Alexander

District 2:

District 3: Siv (d) Jenny

District 4: Calan (?) Sylvia

District 5:

District 6:

District 7: Kestrel(d) Liriope (?)

District 8:

District 9:

District 10: Catla (possibly d)* Calf

District 11: Cleo (d) Tru

District 12:

*Listening Daisy, do you want Catla to die or not?

Well, I'm creating another character because last time I had three and now I'm feeling deprived, and because we don't have enough Careers... or enough real contenders.

Name: Calan Lornell

Gender: Male

District: District 4

Age: 17

Appearance: 6'1", brown hair, hazel eyes. Decent looking. Lean.

Personality: He's not horribly conceited, but he's got a pretty nasty streak that shows up occasionally. Most of the time, he's just indifferent, and is rarely kind.

History: A Career. Went to the District 4 Academy (going bookverse and movieverse) and he's trained with all sorts of random weapons, but, of course, preferred weapon is the trident.

He doesn't die. At least not yet. Because the final battle is yet to come. *cue sound effect of SC "mwahahaha"ing and rubbing hands together like some kind of deranged maniac.* But if he does die, he does in the final battle with whoever's left. Or he becomes victor.

I'll post reaping, etc. for Calan and Siv in about half an hour, if this is up by then.

I intend to make her brother die (after the cornicopia) , then maybe a bit after that, she will die too or I will use that to make her determined to be more aggressive (to get revenge). She will not win.

I just read the ending of the other Hunger Games RP. Now I feel awfully sad. I miss you, Kyder! You too, Fortis! Luxuria, go away.

Also, which Hunger Games is this? Can we pretend Cato won? And that the Quarter Quell was something totally horrible but not with the victors? So Siv can make references?

Sivriel Sairell

I hate Reaping Day. I hate hate hate hate it. We never win. I remember, back when I was 10, that the guy from our District, something wrong with his foot, reactivated the mines (a totally genius idea), but then later Cato snapped his neck. And two years after that, the girl from our District tried that trick again and got blown up for her troubles. We haven't had a victor since Wiress.

I also dislike Reaping Day because almost every year, one of the people up there is someone I know, if in person, or by name, or by face, or they're a relative, a sister, a brother, a cousin, a friend to someone I know.

I hate being a smaller district.

Eileen, my older sister, is safe from the reaping at age 19. All that tesserae but she got out fine.

I stopped at home after working in my shack. I needed to at least look like I hadn't spent the last twenty hours trying to program a robotic dog.

Eileen was sitting at the dining table. Dad was asleep or drunk. He'd been like that for two years, since after mom died. Eileen didn't look up when I came in. "You know something, Siv?" she said. "I'm never ever having kids. Never. I might not even get married. I don't care how wonderful it is, how you love your kids so much you want to squeeze them to pieces, the joy they give you. You know what? I think all these people are heartless. They know that there's a chance, every single year, that their lovely child is going to fight to the death and they're never going to see them again. They know that their lovely child's last memories would be of frantic running and blood and everything else arena. But they still have kids. People are selfish, Siv. Love the kids while you can, and then send them away to die. That's horrible."

"Yeah," I said.

"Siv," Eileen said, still staring into the distance, like she knew something that I didn't, "Run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch him, he's the Gingerbread man."

Most days, I think the fumes in the electronic factory where Eileen works have done something to her head.

I went upstairs, changed clothes, and that was it. When I came down, Eileen was still sitting at the dinner table.

I paused at the door. "Eileen? Aren't you going to wish me luck?"

"May the odds be ever in your favor. That's all it is? Chance? A roll of the dice? A flip of a coin? A chance to live or die?" Eileen's tone was dry. This was not one of her better days.

"Thank you," I said, and left.

*

I stood in the square with the rest of the 15 year old boys. I know most, if not all of them. And I know I can outhack most, if not all of them.

Angelinetta Seria stood on the stage, all pink. Even her eyes are pink. "Happy Hunger Games!" she said. Not much response. I tuned her and the video about the uprising out, instead trying to figure out why my robotic dog's left ear wasn't working. I might have to replace the wires, or it could be a glitch in my programming.

Angelinetta picked a name from the girl's bowl. "Jenny Darett!" she half squealed. I half knew Jenny. Was in my first grade class, I think.

Jenny walked slowly up onto the stage, her hand covering her mouth. Everything about her said, This can't be happening. This can't be me. Well, it was her.

"And for the boys," Angelinetta said as she twirled over to the bowl. "We have..." she drew out a name and unfolded it. "...Sivriel Sairell!" she said, completely butchering my name. It's siv-ree-el "sar" as in the first part of sarah, sar-ell. She said Siverel Seeral.

Oh.

That's me.

Now I'm the one who's thinking This can't be happening. It can't be me.

On trembling legs, I walked up to the stage and stood next to Angelinetta as she said something.

My God, I thought (something my mother used to say) I'm going to die.

*

My father didn't even come. But Eileen did. "Oh Siv," she said, "I knew this was going to happen. I'm so sorry for your loss."

Something inside her snapped, and she became real again. Tears started flowing and she hugged me. "Siv," she said, "I love you so, so much." She pulled away and looked me in the eye, something she hadn't done in a week. "When you get out there, I don't care what anyone says or what the arena is or what Beetee says or what alliances have been offered. There's only one person you can trust out there, and that's yourself. You can make an ally, not a friend. I don't care if you have to kill people when your heart tells you not to. I don't care what changes you in there. You come out, and not in a coffin. You come out alive and you come home to me. You get out there in that arena and you find someone, and you take their hand and you say 'Run.' You run and you run and you run and you run. You run from trouble you from everything. Run, run as fast as you can, no one can catch you, you're the speeding man."

My only sibling kissed me on the forehead and walked out the door.

Jenny was going to die. Poor girl, she didn't have the strength or the smarts or the looks for sponsers. She was not an available ally.

The Peacekeepers dragged us onto the train. I began to eat. Pasta and grains and that sort of stuff is good for energy, right? Besides, I was hungry.

I'm going to run, run as fast as I can, they can't catch me, I'm the victor man.

But who am I kidding? I'm going to die.

Calan Lornell

This is it. My year. I can feel it.

My mother and father smiled at me as I walked out the door. Everyone else at the Reaping is looking at me jealously. I've got so many slips in there. I'm one of the top scorers at the Academy, and if there's a contest, I'll win it.

The other Districts, they call us Careers, but they're wrong. It's not a job, it's a life. The thrill in your blood as your trident sings through the air, the way all the emotions of your opponent feed yours...

Someone named Sylvia Smith volunteered for the girls. She looks pretty good, not gorgeous enough for sponsers to fall over their heads, but beautiful enough to get some major parachutes.

Regina Sayser pulled a name out of the boys bowl. She opened the slip of paper. "Calan Lornell," she said, the name, my name rolling out of her mouth. "Do you accept?"

"I accept," I said, and walked up the stairs to the stage. Guess I didn't have to fight to get into the arena. So easy. So lucky. I could do this. I could win. My trident and I, the sea and the salt, the burning sun, I would win this.

Sorry, Calan's part is short, but I have to go. Tennis at 7:30 am, yay!

Cleo~

I barely remembered getting on the train. Or eating the food, even though it was the most lavish meal I'd ever had. Cakes, meats (We barely ever got meat), delectable vegtables, and something called chocolate that I'd never had, but tasted so amazing, I had to have more than one piece. I excused myself early and watched the reruns of the reaping, getting my first taste of the enemies.

"This year's tributes!" Ceasar Flickerman said enthusiastically. "Right here!" He looked down at his list of names.

"From District one, Hyaline Redmond and Alexander Drastin!" A boy and a girl were shown, but I mostly paid attention to the girl, who looked confidently at the screen. Her blond hair and piercing eyes gave her a powerful and terrifying look. Stay away from her at all costs, my conscience told me.

"From District three, Sivriel Sairell and Jenny Darett!" Two kids with freaked-out looks on their faces stared at me from the screen. The girl looked weak. The boy looked slightly mean. Oh heck, they all looked mean.

"From District four, Calan Lornell and Sylvia Smith!" Careers. Overconfident, over eager and overly stupid sometimes. They were dangerous physically, but somtimes not mentally. At least I hoped so.

"From District seven , Kestrel Lapidus and Liriope Burnstone!" These two actually looked all right. The girl looked frightened, but had a friendly look in her eyes. The boy looked nervous, but brave. Maybe possible allies? I wasn't sure.

"From District ten, Catla and Calf Puff!" Two siblings with remarkable resemblance popped up. The boy looked scared. The girl looked fiercly protective of the boy.

"And from District Ele-" I snapped off the TV. I didn't wan to see how scared or pretty or whatever I looked. I just wanted to be home, away from all this. I absentmindedly fingered the dreamcatcher. What would Netta do? She was always so calm.

Suddenly, my door flew open, revealing a slim, pale woman, who could only be my mentor. Cara was her name. She'd won the games at fourteen, but had been a nervous trainwreck ever since. "You're Cleo?" she asked shakily. "I nodded. "Cara?" She sheepishly nodded, her eyes darting around like she'd rather be anywhere else than here. "So um... what do you want to tell me?" Her breath caught. "T-tell you?" I tried not to roll my eyes. "Yeah, you're my mentor. You tell me how to stay alive." She gave a nervous laugh. "You're not going to stay alive." Then she spun around and ran at top speed away from me.

Great. My mentor was a total nut job. I was doomed.

Making this post for the third freaking time because my internet has crashed. Well not so much crashed as quietly reloaded the page while I was on another tab. I hate you, Safari.

First of all: I'm not sure what you meant, SC, but if you mean that this is, like, the seventy-eight Hunger Games and Katniss and Peeta perished tragically and none of Mockingjay or Catching Fire ever happened and Cato from District Two won the Hunger Games then YES YES YES. That'd be awesome.

Also: I'm also making a Career. From District Two. Also, I realized: if she's from District Two, she might get Cato as a mentor! Just possibly! So I'm leaving the boy blank in case someone else wants Cato.

 Name: Anesla Larkins

Age: 16

Appearance: Strawberry blond hair, freckles, brown eyes. She's pretty, but not so pretty that she'll get a lot of sponsors because of it. But she has other plans for sponsors.

Personality: Patient, eloquent, charming, and cruel. She enjoys killing but tries not to give way to wims and isn't really a fan of unnescesarry gore. She knows she can lose, but she also knows she can win. Doesn't trust anyone, so no allies. As opposed to Kestrel, who will try to form an alliance with anyone.

 Other: she's an only child and her parents have wanted her to win for a long time.

Will post as her later.

Who wants to form an alliance with Kestrel? Alliances are fun.

Catla~

On the train, we saw food that we haven't seen since we got our new peacekeeper. Calf stuffed himself, and I ate like I hadn't eaten a decent meal in years.  We watched the tributes come on, Hyaline Redmond (district 1), The people from district 4, and those from district 2 looked like trouble. Then our mentor Dairia showed up, she was a woman who was a bit heavy, and had won the games 10 years ago, at 16. She had suprisingly, back then, joined the career group, and then doublecrossed them. She introduced herself, and then, she suggested we start planning.

"So, I suggest that for your persona-" "persona?" Calf asked, "Yes, persona, it means how we will make people think about you, hopefully, they will like you, and fund us, so that we can get you "special supplies" during the games like medicene. Also, I want to know, what are your skills?" "Hmm, our skills, both of us can use a sling, to scare away animals that might threaten our herd, and maybe some staff fighting, since we spar when we get bored while our herd grazes."I said. "Hmm, that's good, we can use that. I think that for your persona, we have you be over protective of your brother, and we can make your brother, timid." "Timid?! I am not timid" Calf said. "Okay" Dairia said, quickly thinking up something else, "How about, instead, we do, umm, brash." "Yeah, that could work" I said. "Whats brash mean?" said Calf.

District 7: Kestrel(d) Liriope (?)

Anesla~

I was lucky. I was the best of the sixteens, and there were no seventeens. And the chosen tribute...I just had to giggle when she was called. So I did.

"Quartz Greythorne!" Carmellita Dereko called out. A girl with blond hair and blue eyes ascended to the podium, frightened. Stupid of her, really. There are always volunteers anyway.

I knew Quartz. She and her brother haven't been trained for some weird reason. Against their parent's motives or something. Just don't ask. Don't say that they're from freaking district two. The Greythornes are a rare breed.

"Any volunteers?" Carmellita smirked.

"I volunteer," I called almost lazily.

"Excellent, dear." she smiled.

~~~
In the Justice building, my parents didn't kiss or hug or do anything. They just smiled at me and my father told me to learn from my mentor and talked to me a little about tactics. My mom took off a ring and asked it if I wanted it as a token, but I refused. I don't believe in tokens. They're just something to angst over.
~~~

 I watched the film while on the train. From District One, there was a pretty girl whose name was Hyaline or something... Aha, competition. She'd be in the pack, and I'd have to watch out for her. The boy was probably good, but she was better.

District three is a shy girl and a boy. Girl is shy and small, not much of a threat. I'll kill her. The guy is harder to read. I'll watch out for him.

District four, a relatively pretty girl and the boy is a standard Career. Another good addition to the pack, another person to watch out for.
Five, nobody of interest. Same for six.
Seven has a boy and a girl. Probably won't win. They're ready physically, but not mentally. Too nice-looking. Especially the boy.
Eight and nine: boring.

 Ten has two little siblings whose names are...get ready for it...Catla and Calf. Honestly, I don't think the announcers needed to announce that they were from ten. But anyway, neither seemed like much, but the girl was definitely protective of her brother. Awww.

Eleven, an average boy, but I can't tell for the girl. She doesn't look like much, but there's often more to Eleven than met the eye. You would have thought that Rue girl would have perished at the Cornucopia. Plus, the girl is really pretty. She'd have to seriously mess up in her interview so as not to get crowds of sponsors.
And two little frightened kids from Twelve. There'd been nobody that's any good since Katniss Everdeen.
So the main enemies are from one and four, the boy Tribute from my own district, the boy from three, maybe the two from seven? and the girl from eleven. This should be fun.

Also, I was ARPS. Just saying.

And I don't really give a drake about the arena, so if everyone's okay with Listening Daisy's, then we'll do that one.

Oh gosh, I seriously messed up on ages. I forgot that eighteen-year-olds could enter the Hunger Games too.

Also, I don't think I quite interpreted SC's idea correctly... What's the Quarter Quell? Don't worry about spoilers, because, about half of Mockingjay has been spoiled for me anyway and I don't really plan to read it.

And did you notice that SC is (I think) the only member of this RP that was in the other THG RP as well?

And I changed my mind about what's her face from District Two (oh gosh...I forgot my own character's name...) having no allies. She'll probably form an alliance with Hyaline or Calan. Or the unnamed boy from Two if anyone ends up playing him. Note that I didn't say much about him because he's the only career left open. Doesn't anyone want to have Cato as a possible mentor? I can't continue posting as....oh right! Anesla was her name! Gah that name is annoying...mind if people call her Nes or Nesla?...anyway, I can't continue posting as Ness until we figure things out with him.

And, Zach L., sorry that Carmellita sounds so much like Carmelia, I swear I forgot. I guess great minds think alike.

Lalala...I also read The Last Hunger Games (the RP) today. Lalala. I'll post now.

Kestrel~

Oh my goodness.  Once I saw the reapings for the other districts, I doubted that I'd see Estelle again.

First of all, there were the Careers. All of them were well trained, all of them were pretty good-looking, so they'd get sponsors. And the girl tribute from one...pretty, confident, Career. How in the world am I supposed to kill her? District two's girl looked like she was already plotting how to kill everyone. Our escort mentioned that the one from four is a top scorer at the District Four Academy.

 The boy from three, I don't know what to think. He just looks shocked. The girl will probably die at the Cornucopia...

 Five, six. Seven is us, and I watch myself ascend to the podium, hearing Estelle's scream in the background. I look completely shocked, like I don't belong there. Liriope, on the other hand, looks like she'd been expecting it all along.

Eight, nine. Ten is two siblings. Poor things. Poor parents.

Eleven, a boy and a stunningly beautiful girl. I don't know her skills, though she can probably climb trees pretty well and whatnot, but the Capitol is going to love her. I can't help wondering what she'll look like after the stylists get at her.

Twelve. And that's it, twenty four tributes. Twenty-three of which are about to die brutally.

~~~~
Oh my goodness. Unnessesarily long comment.
