I'm just about where you are in the books. I'm learning La Folia, which is the first piece in book six.  I have an original recording of the Seitz Concerto No. 2 performed by Itzhak Perlman. He is such a good violinist.  My favorite composers are Mozart, Tartini, and Corelli.  (Corelli wrote La Folia).  My favorite song that I'm not playing is "The Hot Canary."

Wow. I feel like I could have written your post.  I LOVE Cannon in D, Claire De Lune, and Sonatina 1.  I play them all the time, too!  The only things that are different are that I don't have a sister, so she obviously doesn't play, and I've played the piano since I was 5.  Wow.

WOW! We're a lot alike!:) I've never known anyone else who's heard of or played Sonatina 1! Have you played Sonatina 2-3? My favorite one is the first one, but I like the second one because it's very pretty.:) I learned Cannon in D about 2 or 3 months ago, and I've known Claire De Lune since I was about 9.:) Cool!:)

Oh, and I was just wondering, who were you saying happy almost birthday to? I know that I didn't put anything about it on this post, but on another thread I mentioned that I'm going to be 13 in one month. On Oct. 1st, I'm going to be a teenager!:)

I have heard of Sonatinas two and three!  I can play them both!  I've known Cannon in D for two or three years now, but I just started Claire de Lune.  My mom got the song for me, and it turns out my piano teacher somehow doesn't like that song.  I'm not sure how.  But anyway, I'm sort of on my own with that song.

I was saying happy almost birthday to you.  I didn't even notice that someone else said it was almost their birthday.  Sorry whoever that was!!  Happy almost birthday to you, too!  It's sort of funny, I just had my twelth birthday on August 18.  I was away at camp with some of my best friends, so it was really fun.  (My absoulute best friend wasn't there, though)

Oh, sorry!  I didn't know what you meant by saying happy almost birthday.  Yes, I was saying it to Elizabeth, but I said it to you, Kimberly, in a different post.  Sorry about that mixup.  Sorry to you, too, Elizabeth!

Oh my goodness Paige!!! I really loooooooooove Cannon in D and every year at our school, the orchestra (including me!! Cello!!) plays this song. In a different way though! We have beginners play "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and the advanced players play Cannon in D. It sounds really awesome!

I absolutly love classical music!  My favorite composers are George Frederic Handel and Bach.  I have been playing the piano for 6 (almost 7) years and just recently started playing the violin, too.

LOVE  classical music!!! I'm in  violin Suzuki book 8 and I also play the piano. Some of my favorite composers are Debussy, Mozart, Beethoven, and Kreisler. (Have you ever heard of him? He's awesome!)

No, I haven't heard of Kreisler, but I have heard of the others.  Ahh, Debussy..........  He is my favorite.  Ahhhh...  I'm listening to a playlist filled with music by him, such as, right now I'm listening to "The Girl with Flaxen Hair."  SO RELAXING...  They have eight books in Suzuki Violin???  Piano only has seven!!  Are there more books after that for violin??  If you're in eight, you must be really good!  You say that you also play piano.  Do you use Suzuki for that, too?  If I could play two instruments well, I would record myself playing one, then record myself playing the other, and finally put them together and listen to my masterpiece!! (I do it on my electric keyboard!!)  I use the Suzuki Violin piano accompaniment book.  It's really fun!!!  I also play piano for my piano teacher while she plays the twinkles and the really easy song on her violin, because she just started taking lessons (from her daughter!!!)!
