Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

NaNo Covers&

NaNo Covers

I argued about whether or not I should put this in Inkwell or Pudding's Place but I decided on here. Anyhow, I want to talk about NaNo covers and maybe do some... There are a lot of people out there who are much better at designing book covers, but I though it would be fun to do some, especially on the CB. I don't know if I'll personally get to it, but it would be fun to try. And if other people wanted to make covers for other people they could and it would just be one big pile of lala-ness or something.

The idea is that someone could make a cover for one of your novels. It's kind of like the character drawing thread, except with novels from NaNo. You can submit the one you're doing this year or one you did in previous years. You can also suggest what the artist might draw for the cover, a sort of general idea.

This'll be fun!

Eh heh heh... Posting pictures.

Different people do it different ways. I've thought about making a tutorial sort of picture with all of the steps on it so it could just be referenced when this shows up (which is more than never) but I'll try to use words to explain how I do it.

FIRST! Upload your chosen image to an image hosting website of your choice. I personally like Wordpress (if it's in a blog post) and Imgur (for other stuff).

SECOND! Once your image is posted, you will see it on your web page or something. This looks different for different sites, which is where the said tutorial could come in handy. Highlight your image by dragging your mouse across it. Comand C to copy (on mac, Control C on PC [I think]) your image

THIRD! Have another window opened to the Chatterbox! Go to the post you are making, put your mouse where you can start typing and Comand V to paste (Control V otherwise?). Your image should appear in the box. If it doesn't, either you've gone wrong somewhere or I'm bad at explaining thigs. Or both.

Top!

Trust me, I like the first one. It's simple, and kind of elegant, and very pretty. You don't have to try and make other ones- unless of course you'd like to. I sort of like the whole stars idea, and I've decided I don't really like my first idea anyway. I've already uploaded the star cover to Nano. I love it, seriously !
