It is dark

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

It is dark

It is dark outside. You hear thunder crash. You huddle under your blankets, shivering. The next second, you see a bright flash. You smell smoke. Your house has been struck by lightning. You run downstairs to get the fire extinguisher, but by the time you get down, there is no more fire. On the kitchen floor, you see an envelope.

You open it. It explodes. You see a talking letter, a howler, and you hear: You have been officially invited to the storyville playpark, full of kiddy rides, cotton candy, and live rock bands! And more, which can not be disclosed at the moment, but which you will find out after the first concert!

Well, you have a passion for kiddie rides, and without even thinking about how a strange letter appeared in your kitchen, you start packing your bags.

What happens to you is a mystery. You can find out by signing up. I can do no more than 10 people. Have fun!

We start on the 24th of May.

I want a challenge, just so you know, but can you put me higher on the list?

I'm a master waterbender (ice, water, snow, mist, you get it) and I have really strong telekinesis. I also have minor telepathy and plants.

OK, fine. Just, you seem a tad OP, so could you maybe take away one of the more minor powers?

Revised line up:

HAB

Brookeira

TARDISrider

Shadow Dragon

Cayke

Booksy

Danie

Dragonrider

St. Owl

Ruby

We have to ask Hot Air Balloon before I do yours.

I'd still like a challenge, please.

Welp. I never had much power. I was made for humor, not fighting. Well, I have my raygun, my spinning wheel of doom, and a knack for punching.

Sure, scratch plants and telepathy.

(June 25, 2015 - 9:25 pm)

OK, no more challenge order. I'll give Brooke and Booksy challenges, and then if anyone else wants I'll give one to them.

"Brookeira, it is time for your challenge."

Brookeira nods, and bravely steps forward.

"Now, you have one hour to get destroy this." Seemingly from the sky, a little glass ball drops into her hands.

"And one more thing: No using the lavalake."

a) Rebuke the challenge and fail

b) Call on your inner forces

c) Drop it in the lake 'by accident.'

d) Consult your peers

e) Start mapping out potential destruction methods

First e, then b. If not just b.

If you're ditching the challenge order, I want a challenge after Booksy.

Whoa, I don't want to be one of the lasts! You can't shove me out of the way!

l'll  be after Danie.

submitted by Shadow Dragon
(June 29, 2015 - 3:39 pm)

OK. Dragonrider, you're after Booksy. And I see that Danie just posted, so I'm guessing she is after you. Not sure.

Don't be offended if this is really bad, OK? Thanks. Somebpdy's was fine, but only because I know how to write a good fight scene. This will be...different.

Brookeira inspects the orb in her hands. It is small, about the size of a walnut, but round instead of oblong. It is made of clear glass which sparkles in the sunlight and would be quite nice if she didn't have to do something about its destruction.

"Let's see...no lavalake. Do I possess lava powers? No. Destruction by lava is out. Actually--" she whips out a notebook and pen. She starts listing every possible destruction method that she can think of.

Lava

Combustion

Melt it

Smash it

Use telekinesis and break it into minescule pieces.

Waterbending.

Glass is made of sand. Doesn't help.

Then she goes back through the list.

Lava. Have none.

Melt it. How?

Smash it. No.

Waterbending. Not gonna help.

Glass is made of sand. Doesn't help.Yup, that's right.

Use telekinesis and break it into minescule pieces. Same as smashing it.

Her hopes are really down, when she looks at the last item on her list.

Combustion. If I could some how force its particles away from each other from the inside using telekinesis...it would be mimicking combustion, just without the heat.

Brookeira stands back. She drops the little ball on the ground. Closing her eyes and concentrating on all of her strenghth, she sends out telekineisis to the little orb and tries to put force on it from the inside.

Nothing. She tries again a few more times.

Nothing.

Ok, so what am I doing wrong? I'm sending power from my mind into it...that's it! She jumps up.

This time, instead of sending power from herself to the ball, she focuses on the power within it and uses it to force the orb into dust. It explodes and when the dust has cleared, there is nothing substantial left of it.

"Well done, Brookeira. That was an extraordinary use of telekinesis. Excallent job. You have passed. You may now go home. Or, if you like, you can visit  Somebody in the medical booth." The mysterious figure in bellbottoms points to a faraway tent.

Brookeira, with a smile on her face, walks away to visit Somebody.

Coming up next...Booksy!

Yay! Just so you know, I have no powers but a magical book that writes itself depending on the situation. Looking forward to it!

Mysterious voice clears it's throat. "Achem."

"Ooh! It's my turn, isn't it?"

"Er, yes, Booksy Owly. Your turn. I have for you some...Ingredients, shall we say. You must use them to brew a potion. Something that could have destroyed Brookeira's orb just as efectively as she did. You have two hours, and I'll give you a hint: The brewing time is long. Also, you must use all of the ingredients. All of them, or you fail."

"OK...but I've never brewed a potion before."

"No matter. On that table over there are your ingredients. You also have a cauldron and a stove. Good luck."

Booksy!

a) Star messing around, pour in random bottles of things and herbs.

b) Close your eyes and point to your first ingredient. Do this for every one.

c) Call on you knowledge of Harry Potter spells.

d) Survey your ingredients and think before acting.

e) Check your book to see if it wrote the Harry Potter books in it.
