Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Warriors RP

Warriors RP

This roleplay is made in reminiscence of a previous Warriors RP, which was right here in Pudding's Place! I rummaged through a bunch of old threads and found it earlier today. I read a lot of it, and judging from my comments I was a total jerk back then XD Enough rambling! Here's the RP.

⬩◈⬩

You are a cat. You live in peace, going about your daily rituals as usual. Life is good. But one day, the earth begins to shake. The ground is torn apart. Trees fall down, their roots loosened by the breaking world. Nowhere is safe for you. When the quake is over, the land that was once your home is nearly unrecognizable. Gaping rifts lace the hills. Debris litters the ground. Gazing around at the wreckage, you wonder if your home, or your life, will ever be the same.

But that's not the worst part. ThunderClan has fallen. With its leader and most of its warriors lost in the earthquake, the survivors scattered in panic. They are now nowhere to be seen.

As you look across the ruined landscape, you wonder: how can the four Clans survive when there are only three?

Night ~

I crouch, hearing a large group of cats tearing down something. I crawl closer. A small cat with a dark brown cat leaps on me. I hiss, and start to claw him. "Rogue, rogue in our territory!" he screeches.

I clamp my paw over his mouth, but it's too late. A horde of cats come rushing toward me. I abandon the tom and claw my way up a tree. When I'm at the top, I leap from branch to branch, trying to get away. "Prey-stealers! Mangy flea-pelts!" the cat yowls, "Get her!"

I see a clump of bracken below. If I only could get down there. I plop in the bracken and quickly curl up, masking myself. The cats rush past me.

Wolftail~

Wolftail pounced quickly on a mouse, nipping its spine. He padded quietly throught the forest, clutching the mouse in his jaws. Wolftail crouched down as yowls pierced the air. "Prey-stealers! Mangy flea-pelts! Get her!" A smaller dark brown cat, the tom who yelled, breaks throught the underbrush, followed by three other clan cats. Wolftail quickly spat out his mouse and lept onto a cat's back. Falkonclaw arched his spine, trying to get rid of Wolfail's grip. Wolftail digs his claws harder into Falconclaw's back, he yowls, flips onto his back, nocking the air out of Wolftail. Falconclaw jumps up before Wolftail could do any more damage. Falconclaw glares at the rest of the cats. "Attack you rabbitbrai-" Wolftail butted his head into Falconclaws ribs. He stumbled backward, hissing and clawing at Wolftail. He dodged the attacks, then whipped around to see a silver she-cat rouge, darting out of the brush. Wolftail rushes after her before anycat else could attack him. He hears multiple yowls behind him.

~~~~~~
Guys, sorry if this is so late. And short. And not very well written. Also, the silver rouge is Night.
Sorry if this is so controling... I am really really rushed right now... sorry again y'all!
@Esquire:
you said that the silver rogue is Night, and yet Night is black. Did you mean Moon? The one I wrote about, who is silver?
~Blossomwing~
Eaglepaw seems pretty annoyed that I took him on another patrol. He’s rolling his eyes, not paying attention, staring off into space. But apprentices will be apprentices, and he usually has a good attitude.
A scent catches my nose. It’s smells of fear, of . . . blood. “Rogue,” I say thoughtfully. “The one we met the other day.”
“Other day?” Pinetail, the leader of our patrol, turns around. “What do you mean?”
“Nothing,” Eaglepaw meows quickly.
“We’ll go look for the rogue,” I add. The rest of the patrol moves ahead while Eaglepaw and I follow the scent.
She crawls out of the bushes. She’s injured, bleeding. We need to get her to the medicine cat! Who cares that she isn’t in RiverClan?
“Help! Someone attacked our camp--Moon’s hurt--help, please help!” she gasps.
“Who did? Who attacked your camp?” Eaglepaw asks.
Staring at a cat that once was strong, once was a good fighter, my heart broke. I longed to help her, to do something, to heal her even though she was a rogue. I didn’t even know her name, I didn’t know who Moon was, I did know who this cat was, but they were both cats. Not enemies, not outsiders. Cats.
The she-cat frantically babbles some more, begging for help, before I cut her off. “Take us there.”
She leads us. Arriving, I realize that it wasn’t an animal that destroyed the camp: It was the earthquake. Saying nothing, I pad over to a silver she-cat lying in the middle of the clearing. She’s beautiful, with a dappled pelt like leaves in the light of the moon and dark green eyes. I place my paw on her flank. She’s barely alive! I say so, adding: “She needs more help than I can give her. Eaglepaw, take her other side,” I order.
He obeys. “I don’t . . . need help . . .” she stirs, as the other she-cat rushes to her side, murmuring encouraging words.
We carry her back to the RiverClan camp. I’m half-aware of the other cats staring, but I ignore them as someone fetches Minnowstar.
“These two rogues are seeking shelter,” I explain. She doesn’t respond, only staring at their injuries.
“The earthquake destroyed their camp,” I add quickly. “Please, Minnowstar. Giving aid to those who need is the right thing to do, and StarClan would approve.”
“I’m not sure--”
I continue to plead in their behalf. Eaglepaw, Moon, and the unnamed she-cat all remain silent during our exchange.
“All right,” Minnowstar finally sighs. “Go take them to Darksnow.”
Yes! “Eaglepaw, let’s pick her up again, shall we?” She’s conscious now, and I make sure to be gentle. “Also, you never told me your name.”
“Winnow.”
I nod. “I like that name.” Moon twitches suddenly. “Moon! It’s alright, it’s alright, no one’s here to hurt you,” I soothe her.
“You should have been a medicine cat,” remarks Eaglepaw.
“Yes, but then who would be your mentor?”
We drop both of them off, and explain what happened to Darksnow. He quickly busies himself with finding herbs for them, and another cat in the den sniffs. Foxleaf, an older warrior, is being treated for an infected paw.
“Why did Minnowstar let these intruders in?”
Winnow~
A few days after the gathering of cats, I grow bored of Moon and I's daily activities. So, when she leaves to go hunting, I decide to go check out the Riverclan camp. Having seen the direction from which the river cats came from on the night of the Gathering, I know the general area of where to look. I don't make it very far before my pelt begins prickling with a very distinct sense of wrongness. Whirling around, I begin to make my way back to the camp, just barely avoiding being spotted by a rather menacing looking cat that smells of heather. They seem to be already leaving, but that didn't give me any sense of relief. When I reach the camp I stop short. It is no longer existent. Everything is completely destroyed. And Moon...
"Moon!" I yowl, rushing to her side. All knowledge of herbs that my mother taught me has flown from my head. The only thought running through my head is Who did this? Whodidthis Whodidthis Whodidthis Whodidthis Whodidthis Whodidthis Whodidthis Whodidthis...
I smell other cats nearby, and immediately run towards them, my panicked mind somehow picking up the fact that they are friends, not foes.
“Help! Someone attacked our camp--Moon’s hurt--help, please help!” I sob, all pretense of strength forgotten.
“Who did? Who attacked your camp?” Eaglepaw asks.
"I don't know. All I know is that I came back from hunting and Moon was lying there, and she was bleeding, and I thought she was dead, and my home is gone, and--" once I start talking, I can't seem to stop talking. It's been too long since I've trusted any other cat, besides Moon, who is now dying.
"Take us there," the she-cat, Blossomwing, cut in, all business.
I nod once, then turn and run into the brush. They keep up, thank StarClan.
"She is alive," Blossomwing announces, "but just barely. She needs more help than I can give her. Eaglepaw, take her other side."
I bite my tongue to keep from saying something snappy, instead keeping out of the way.
Suddenly, I hear Moon stir.
"I don't... need help..." she gasps.
I bolt to her, "Yes, you do, you mousebrain!. It's okay, Moon. It'll all be okay. You won't die. You won't die... I won't let you."
The trek to the RiverClan camp passes in a blur, and suddenly, distantly, I hear cats talking.
"These two rogues are seeking shelter," Blossomwing meows to a regal looking she-cat, who must be the leader.
Minnowstar, as she is called, simply stares. Blossomwing forges onwards, "Their camp was destroyed. Please, Minnowstar. Giving aid to those who need is the right thing to do, and StarClan would approve.”
Minnowstar seems to start, just barely, "I'm not sure --" she says hesitantly, glancing over my shoulder at something -- or someone.
i sway on my feet, suddenly exhausted.
"All right," the leader sighs, "Take them to Darksnow."
Eaglepaw sags slightly in relief as he offers his shoulder for me to lean on. I shake my head as Blossomwing says, "Eaglepaw, let’s pick her up again, shall we? Also, you never told me your name," she says, adressing me.
"Winnow," I say, barely able to muster the energy to say even those two simple syllables.
“I like that name," she responds with a nod.
Suddenly Moon gives a little jerk. I step forward to soothe her, but Blssomwing is already there, "Moon! It’s alright, it’s alright, no one’s here to hurt you,” she says soothingly.
The world tilts a little, then rights itself.
"You should have been a medicine cat,” Eaglepaw whispers to his mentor.
“Yes, but then who would be your mentor?” she responds with a gentle bump of a shoulder.
I drift off to sleep soon after we make it to the medicine den.
~~~

I wake up the the unfamiliar tang of herbs and the river all around me. Outside, I hear cats milling about as morning sunlight streams into the den. A slender tom is mashing some herbs into a pulp in the corner. I start when I see his face, causing him to look up.

"You've woken up," he comments, not unkindly.

I nod, watching him warily.

"It's alright," he mews, "My name is Darksnow. I'm the Clan medicine cat."

"Winnow," I respond, my voice still a little rough from sleeping, "And that's Moon," I add.

"Yes, well. I'm glad to tell you that your friend will recover... But she will retain some scars," he says.

"Thank you. Thank you so very much," I say warmly.

"Of course. Whenever you're well enough, Minnowstar would like to see you," he says.

"There's no time like the present," I respond, dragging myself to my feet.

"Blossomwing will escort you to her den," Darksnow says, before returning to his work.

At that moment, the she-cat pokes her head into the den. I pad over to join her, and we walk in silence for a moment.

"How are you feeling?" she asks.

"Fine. Worried. I didn't get hurt. All that blood... That was Moon's," I explain.

Agh... I feel like every time I sit down to write a post, I end up having to go before it's finished. Welp. What can I do about it?

Anyways, remember how in my charrie sheet I said that my father was a Clan cat? I was thinking that maybe the reason for Minnowstar's hesitation was because of this. She realised that Winnow's father is one of her own Clan (Winnow doesn;t realise it though) and knew it might cause quite a stir.

If anyone is willing, it would be great if they could be Winnow's father. If not, I'll create an NPC .

Mkay, new part! Let's see how this goes...

Moon (cause I feel bad for knocking her out earlier...)

I wake up to something cool over my face and shoulder. Moss. I almost drift back into sleep, but remember what happened to me.

Our camp.

The golden cat who destroyed it.

Winnow, missing.

"Winnow..." I moan weakly. I try to sit up, to find Winnow, to throw off the damp moss that's covering  my snout and shoulders. I hiss as my shoulder erupts in pain from the vicious scratches left by the brown tom. Falconclaw, I remember.

Gentle paws push me back down. "Rest," someone says.  I sink back down, too weak to fight them off.

"Where..." I say, but I have to stop. The pain from the scratches on my throats flares up, and I gasp.

The paws take the damp moss off my eyes and throat. I see another cat, their  eyes crinkled in a warm concern.

"Winnow..." I gasp through the pain. The cat nods. "She's safe, and here in the RiverClan camp with you."

RiverClan. I've become what I've always feared: a Clan cat.

~~~
Several hours later, I lie back down and try to sleep.
"Moon," someone hisses.
I lift my head weakly.
"Hello?" I gasp.
A cat slides in the entrance. His black pelt ripples in the moonlight, and  he slinks like he's trying not to be noticed. Which, to be honest, he is. I know this cat: a rogue who lives -- lived, I correct myself-- near Winnow and I. His name is Wolftail.
He sighs in relief when he sees me. "Moon! I thought you were killed! What happened?"
I explain, and when I'm done, his gray tail is swishing and his face is set in an angry grimace. "The nerve of these Clan cats," he spits.
I prop myself up on my front paws and attempt to stand. Instantly, Wolftail is by my side. He helps me stand, and I take a few staggering steps forward. I stop in a patch of moonlight. "What--" I start,  but stop at the way Wolftail is staring at my face.
"What?" I ask irratibly. I'm used to toms staring at me, but his face is more filled with horror. "Your face..." he whispers. I roll my eyes. "What about it?"
He shakes his head. "I-- I can't explain. It's better if you see for yourself." He helps me stand again, and together we pad outside. He leads me to a moonlit puddle, and I gaze at my face in horror.
It used to be so perfect. So unscarred, so smug. Now it's covered in scratches in various states of healing. I can see that they'll all scar. My face will never be the same. It's a patchwork, now, of healing skin and torn fur.
"No..." I whisper. "No!"
I sag back against Wolftail, and he doesn't protest. A tear slips out of my eye. I brush it away angrily.
I spin around and march back into the medicine cat's den, Wolftail trailing behind.
I flop down into my makeshift bed off moss and feathers.
Wolftail clears his throat.  "Umm, Moon, I came here for a reason..."
"What," I growl.
"I know how much you've always hated the Clan cats. And then I came to your camp, and it was destroyed, and Night told me you'd been catnapped by the Clan cats.  I followed your scent here, and I've come to take you back."
I raise my head again, considering. I want to go back to my old life, wandering around, fending for myself. But it would be much harder to get revenge as a rogue...
"No," I say, an evil smile spreading across my scarred snout. "I can do much more damage from the inside."
~~~

DUH DUH DUHHHHH!!! PROBLEM!!! Neither Winnow nor Wolftail has to be involved in this, if they don't want to be. Wolftail is devoted to Moon, but I don't know his morals. And Winnow is too nice to do this to the cats who helped her. (To be fair, though, Moon is going after WindClan, not RiverClan.) It's totally up to you!

@Esquire:

yay! I was hoping you'd say that. I don't really have a plan for what she's going to do, however... EEEE I love having villainous characters! Dawnblaze, too, has become so much more interesting. She's much harder and callous than I first thought. I mean, she just destroyed Winnow and Moon's camp for practically no reason!
