Regular poetry thread
Regular poetry thread (because I'm tired of not editing my poems)
This is exactly what it sounds like! A thread to post poetry. I'm excited to read all of your work!

Cool, Bluebird! I just participated in NaPoWriMo, so I have a bunch of poems to share! Here's one, that I also posted on the Slam:
Explosions are beautiful.
The way millions of particles collide all at once and
Worlds are formed from pure
Dust. I live for the bang of crashing
Forces. Magnetic attraction to complete
Opposites. Two hearts suddenly welded into one
By the universe’s metalsmith. A slap in the face
And the burning feeling that comes after, not just
On the outside, but all the way through.
Time is only ephemeral. Everything else:
Eternal. A billion insignificant pieces
Can create one significant universe.
Everything they have to hold onto made
Or broken in a single bang. There is nothing
Possessing in everyday routine, nothing
Taking in regularity, no new
Sentiment to control us. No, only the complete
Overturning of all normality can be the creator
Of striking phenomena, of power for the
Powerless. Yes, it is true that
Explosions are beautiful.

I saw this one. It's amazing!! I love the imagery, and this line especially- a billion insignificant pieces/ can create one significant universe. Ahh, this is so good!

Yay, another poetry thread!
This one's really sad (not inspired by any personal tragedy), but anyways. . .
untitled~
i'm sorry i--
i let you go too soon
when you fell, you--
you closed your eyes
it was too fast--
and i, i made up my mind
i fell too
and then we were starlight

I'd love some critique and/or title suggestions!

Hauntingly beautiful, September! How about 'And then we were starlight'? Or just Starlight, if the first is too long. And yours is amazing, too, Booksy!

I like Starlight. Awesome poem, September- short and sweet!

*A Rainbow egg has appeared,
But if this seems a bit weird,
Go check the egg hunt thread
Now, with that said,
What year did the Beetles first come here?
(here means the USA)

This one was inspired by a line in one of September's poems- you are my sunshine/ when skies are blue/ the sun is always there/ and a prompt- write a love/hate poem. So... (wow, my poems contain a lot of mythology references!) I'm open to critique as always.
heliophile
you
said, "i'll be your
sunshine" and i replied,
"oh darling, but i live for rain"
the sky was blue on the day you gave me roses, even
though i'd said a
week before that
daisies were my favorite. you
don't get it, do you? I love
you in the way that humans
love the sun- i can't
live without you but
your ultraviolet rays make
me sick. My skin will
turn to parchment under
your touch and
when i finally escape
you, it'll be
too late. can
sunlight penetrate six feet of earth?
"i understand now why
Apollo had an ego and
Ra was a king."

I love this!! My favorite is the first stanza :)
