Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Writing/Art Contest

Writing/Art Contest

There have been things like this in the past, and I decided to bring it back.

So, you will team up with a partner. Each pair will have one writer and one artist. The judge will give you a theme and a deadline. The writer will write a story or a poem (maximum 100 words) relating to the theme, and the artist will make a piece of art relating to the theme. It's nice if they go together, but they don't have to.

At the deadline, the judge will judge the entries. The winners will become the next judge.

The first theme is growing. You could try something about plants, or children, or science, or something else entirely.

The deadline is two and a half weeks from now, September 9. I know people's schools are starting, and you'll need to find your partners, so I can extend the deadline if needed.

Good luck, and have fun!

Sure, that'd be cool. Do you want to draw it first and then I'll write the thing based off of your drawing, or vice versa?

I still don't have a partner. Do I have to not be in the contest if I can't find one? Or be my own?

I was away for the weekend and just saw this, so here are the answers to everyone's requests:

The deadline is hereby extended a week to the 16th.

I will enlarge the word limit to 200 words.

Viola?, I would be happy to be your partner! That means that we will judge this round and participate in the next one.

Hey I'm working on a piece of a character with nature powers, maybe I could post it and you can write your story/poem off that.  Are you okay with that?

Yeah, that sounds great. I'm excited to see it!

Cool, I should have it posted by tomorrow or the 10th.

Are we going to stick with the theme of growing up? That is a really good idea, that or growing plants? Do you want to do the poem first and I will base the art of that, or the other way around?

Hmm...maybe we'll stick with that unless you'd rather do plants. It might be easier to illustrate after I write the poem, but I don't really care either way. I guess I'll go ahead and start on the poem if it's all the same to you, though.

@SopranoTwo: I think you should write the story or poem first so you donʻt have restrictions. Then I will make the art based off your story! Is that ok?

Of course!

@Night

I think you should write and then I draw. That way I can have more time to think.

Ok. I'll try to get it done by tomorrow or Saturday.

Can I join as whatever role is needed most? I can draw, and I can write - I don't care which I end up doing.

I think everyone is taken, unless Elizabeth comes back. You're welcome to join if you can find a partner.
